Mark and Mary Shapley began this dining tradition in 1985 and soon became one of the premier restaurants in the state. After taking a break to raise their two girls, they have returned with the same great food and service everyone came to know. Great steaks and seafood along with their famous tamales are still the main attraction along with an impressive bar and wine offerings.     We started with Ely’s Baked Kibbeh, it was delicious! The ribeye was hands-down the best I’ve ever had in the area, cooked just right and full of flavor. The shrimp and grits were creamy, rich, and mighty tasty, too! But what really made the evening special was the hospitality. From the sweet hostess to the attentive servers and welcoming manager, everyone made us feel right at home—like we were guests in their own home. Good food, wonderful people, and genuine Southern hospitality. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll definitely be back!
