“Tankuma” was born on the banks of the Takase River in Kyoto, famous for “Takase Fune” at the beginning of Showa period. Takasegawa-suji is a place where Ikushu restaurants serving seasonal river fish were lined up in the Edo period, but our “Tankuma” has been working hard since then. After the war, we continued to make steady progress with the support of Ryosensen, Junichiro Tanizaki, Isao Yoshii, and other literary artists. The name “Yugyoan” was named after the long-cherished “Rishinyusho”, which has been the best delicacy in China.

    An unforgettable afternoon tea experience! The service was absolutely amazing, and the experience was so interactive and personal. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, creating such a warm atmosphere where they got everyone talking and connecting to each other and the staff the food was truly out of this world! Every detail made the experience feel special and memorable. I would do this all over again in a heartbeat. An absolute must-do experience that I’ll never forget! ✨
