Free crab on your birthday! This Cajun soul food spot located in a mini-mall on East 82nd Avenue has earned its legion of superfans. The restaurant is known for its popular seafood boils, po’boys, and fried or blackened seafood (which the restaurant will gladly smother in étouffée sauce); however, the restaurant’s crawfish étouffée —crawfish tail meat swimming in a buttery sauce of onions, peppers, celery, and garlic — is the people’s favorite.IT SOUNDS ENTIRELY too unlikely to have resulted in anything delicious: Two Vietnamese brothers who grew up in Houston, Texas, open a Creole joint near the corner of SE 82nd Avenue and Division Street, next door to a Chinese restaurant and a “bubble tea” shop. But forsaking My Brother’s Crawfish just because of its out-of-the-way location or its owners’ seemingly tenuous relationship to authentic N’awlins fare would be a mistake. In fact, we can say with little doubt that this modest restaurant offers the best Creole cuisine in town.

The food was overall very good, but pay attention to the server's recommendations. We wished we had avoided the steak which was a bit dull compared to everything else we'd ordered (which were all items recommended by our server). The service was outstanding - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The space is a bit loud, so not great for quiet conversation but great for a lively group. The Chianti we ordered was a bit warm and would have benefitted from a brief visit to an ice bath to bring it down to the correct serving temperature. In retrospect, I wish I had requested that when I initially tasted it. But this is more of a reminder to myself than a complaint.

FABULOUS. Besides the obvious views and menu ... this is the best place in town to go for a celebration. Make a reservation with a celebration attached and you'll arrive to a treat - special greeting at checkin, a personal greeting card on your table, things like themed confetti or rose petals ... and likely a free piece of white chocolate mousse cake. Their menu isn't cheap but the food is extremely fresh and tasted cooked-to-order - you get what you pay for! You can't top this place in town, IMHO.

This restaurant is a neighborhood gem—a five minute walk from our house. Cabezón is very consistent with food, drinks, and service, and we have always been very pleased with our overall experience. For this visit, our delicious entrees were seared duck breast and pan seared grouper. 😃

Sooooo marvelous . . . always, but especially last evening, with amazing salmon and accompanying vegetables. We’ve enjoyed Brad Root’s food, since the day the restaurant opened . . . and I cannot recall one disappointing meal…ever, in all the years since. -Martha Atteridge

As always, our dinner was fabulous! Service was excellent, even on a very busy night. The cocktails are very well-crafted and unique. Be sure to get the sambals and fragrant rice, and don’t miss the roti, it is buttery, flaky goodness. We ordered a soft shell crab salad, with tropical flavors - it was very fresh, and hit sweet and salty notes. Next was spicy charred bok choy, served over a creamy base that was delicious. Our final dish was an earthy mushroom and brussels sprout sauté that was charred perfectly. The flavors are well balanced and varied. We are looking forward to trying the pescatarian rice table on a future visit!
