Il Violino has been one of the original Lincoln Center Italian restaurants and, in these days, one of the few still in operation. The chef Vincenzo Mariani, formerly the executive chef at Monsignore (one of the top restaurant in New York City in the 70’s and 80’s), leaded the kitchen with his international experience and created an original and innovative Italian menu. As reliable and as wonderful as ever. The food, the atmosphere, the extraordinary service. Just when you think the kitchen can't surprise you because you've had nearly everything on the menu, along comes something terrific. Potato leek soup. Breakfast potatoes. Cafe Lux is one of those pleasures that keeps on giving.

Rosa Mexicano never disappoints! The frozen pomegranate margarita is no miss as is the tableside guacamole. The enchiladas are always good - the brisket beef variety has a surprise kick in the sauce. First time diners become Rosa regulars. You will too.

Took a few minutes to get seated but we were able to find seats at the bar. The bar staff were very attentive and got us drinks right away. It was my birthday so they gave me a glass of champagne on the house. When we got seated it took a little longer than normal to place our order, but the food made up for this. Everything we ate was delicious! At the end of our meal, the manager boxed up our food. We ordered a dessert to go and the manager asked if we were celebrating, then gave us the dessert for free as well! He also gave me a birthday card and a candle for when we would eat the dessert back at our hotel. Very impressed!

We had a delightful lunch at Tavern on the Green this afternoon to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and seated quickly. There was a lovely Happy Anniversary card on the table for us! Our waiter was polite, professional, and proficient. The food was delicious. We shared the fig appetizer, which we enjoyed very much. We ordered the fish and chips and the lemon chicken entrees, both of which were excellent. We ordered the key lime tart for dessert, which was delicious, and the restaurant also brought us a box of truffles on a plate decorated with Happy Anniversary written out in chocolate. It was such a sweet surprise. The weather was perfect for alfresco dining and we couldn't have had a nicer anniversary lunch!
