Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

I took my cousin here for his birthday celebration, the food was great, the service not so great since they took very long to bring our drinks, didn’t clear the table after our main course came to make room for it and then they brought our soup and salad together with our main course. The waiter that was serving the drinks was a little bit rude and off putting but other than that we had a wonderful time.

Always a great experience at Dolly Olive. We had a group of 7 and it’s a smaller space and they accommodated us well. The waiter was super helpful, pleasant and he said he was new but it didn’t show up in anyway and even managed to divide up our bills. Love that farro salad each time and I cannot go wo getting it. Also the Eggs in Purgatory with sausage. This is one of my favorite brunch spots in PDX. Thank you!

We so enjoyed the Ringside tonight, especially with the volume of the speakers being so low that we could enjoy the music but not have to shout to hear each other speak. It was truly a wonderful visit back to 40 years ago when we first came here. We haven’t been to the Ringside in 20 years, but I hope to go more frequently in the future. And the service is just as good as it always has been.

For the greater metropolitan area served, the oenological work of complimenting the particular cuisine is unparalleled. Pastry menu dessert wine pairings clearly. revealed the presence of expertise and effort in its creation. Wine-by-the-glass menu also revealed a similar level of thought. The cellar list reveals the establishments commitment to exemplary fine dining and, while not used to order in this instance, it displays multiple versatilities for the dining experiences of parties capable of greater consumptive capacity.

We had a lovely relaxed evening. Our server, Yevgeniya (not sure of spelling) was helpful, friendly and efficient. We ordered a fresh oyster appetizer and they were prepared so well - expertly shucked and cleaned. My Bouillabaisse was a generous serving with a variety of seafood and flavours. My husband said he would come back for his horseradish crusted Steelhead Trout any time! Worth a return trip to Portland for sure!
