This farm-to-table Vegas hot spot is the love child of restaurateur Elizabeth Blau and her husband, Chef Kim Canteenwalla, who both received a James Beard Award semifinalist spot for Outstanding Restaurateur. Blau has appeared on many televised events, including as a judge on the Food Network’s Iron Chef America competition. Her restaurant, Honey Salt is located in the mountain-rimmed residential Summerlin District of Vegas, the restaurant is widely considered one of the best off-Strip dining establishments in Sin City. Locally and regionally sourced ingredients are featured in plates like Nana’s chicken curry and Farm House meatloaf. Soft lighting and a brick-lined interior invite both local families and visiting diners to enjoy the latest offerings from a woman who has spent three decades helping transform Vegas into the international culinary destination it is today.

Originally opened in Los Angeles after co-chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger completed a road trip across Mexico in a VW Bug, Border Grill is now also a Vegas culinary institution. You may recall this dynamic duo from their Food Network show, Two Hot Tamales, which was a breakout hit of the late '90s. These two foodie jet-setters then opened up Border Grill, which is located inside the Mandalay Bay Casino bordering the famous artificial beach area, Border Grill creates Mexican street food-inspired gourmet fare in a festive atmosphere that is made for celebrating this important holiday. Dishes here range from regional specialties like the Yucatan-style pork roasted in banana leaves, to the cauliflower annatto paella served on a bed of red quinoa and designed to satisfy vegetarian and vegan diners. Be sure to check out Border Grill for a little spice added to your life.

Sizzling steaks, a top-shelf bourbon selection, and an excellent wine list make the Twin Creeks Steakhouse inside the Silverton Casino a destination for those looking for a true culinary experience in Vegas. Executive Room Chef Jaimee Pepe is a New Jersey native who studied under celebrity chef Michael Mina over at the MGM Grand and also put in time in the kitchens of NYCB. She keeps the menu here fresh and focused. Expect well-done classic steakhouse favorites like the 32-ounce Tomahawk for two, served with a variety of sauces and sides, as well as a new plant-based menu that includes an innovative cauliflower steak, which is pan-seared and served with pine nuts, apricots, and sauteed Swiss chard. A magenta- and hardwood-themed decor here makes room for both intimate dining and festive occasions. Calling food lovers of all kinds - this is a place worth checking out.
