This is a good choice for eating out in Barnes. Food is light and fresh, service friendly and ambiance fine. Not sure about the music. More

Three of us met on Saturday at the newly-reopened TreeHouse for lunch. The reservation system had worked well, but it wouldn't have been necessary to book as the place was almost empty. We didn't order anything exciting in the way of drinks, although I was almost tempted to have a G&T as it was such a sunny and warm day. We shared a plate of houmous to start. There was lots of pitta bread to go around, and the houmous was quite a generous portion too. It was tasty enough, but the houmous we thought was too smooth and didn't have enough garlic in it. Probably wouldn't order that again. One of us had the beef bourguignon as a main course (good, and plenty of it); one of us had the quinoa and edamame burger (thanks, Slimming World!); and one of us had the lamb chops (good flavour, but quite greasy - particularly when served with a leek fondue). Only one of us wanted pudding - and chose fruit crumble that went down very well. The location was ideal for us; the ambience was perfectly acceptable; the music was probably a little too loud but not too intrusive; and the service was just a bit disjointed, but very friendly. Overall, we'll be going again but will probably avoid the houmous! More
