Macao Trading Co. takes its inspiration from the brothels and opium dens of old 1930's Macao...an exotic time-out-of-time place...mysterious, adventurous, decadent.

Whether an intimate dinner, large party, or late night dining, take advantage of our signature Eurasian cuisine: a sumptuous blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences.

Located on Church St, at the edge of Tribeca, Macao’s décor is a dramatic composition of lighting, relics, and industrial iron work. The high ceilings and tucked away location provide a fit setting for the restaurant’s 1940's portside warehouse feel, recalling the adventure of Macao’s "red lantern district."

My all time favorite restaurant in NYC. The entire staff and especially Shana, the head bartenders, apprentices and servers were a ten. Food was absolutely delicious, especially the steamed dumplings and whole crispy fish. Dessert was she good we went downstairs for a drink and ordered a second dessert! Shana - your staff were beyond hospitable and we had a fantastic night. J.P., Dino, David, Danelle- all amazing workers and great people. We loved hearing your story about how you curated the restaurant and enjoyed getting to know you. We just wanted to say thank you and hope you keep our number and come for a visit if you come out west. We had so much fun and look forward to doing it again! The DJ was also a TEN!

The food and cocktails/mocktails were delightful. The African Chicken is perfectly cooked and served with a fresh slaw and tasty peanut sauce. The server was able to share gluten friendly options. The coconut panna cotta was a light treat to finish the meal with a cup of tea. Look forward to eating here again.

I have been here before and this time was not like the ones before. The service was extremely slow, we ordered our cocktails and took at least 20 mins to get them while the food took more than an hour. To add insult to injury, the server mistook our order twice! Ironically, when it was rectified the dishes came out within 10 mins. Almost seems like our server had forgotten to put in the order initially. When it came to the check, he was speedy and ready to go compared to the rest of the service. It’s a shame because the food was absolutely delicious! Next time, I’ll only sit at the bar to control some of the variables.

The food was the highlight of it all, delicious and came out quick. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is great and it didn’t get noisy until about 9 pm which meant we could eat our meal & hear each other.

Char siu baby back ribs and the kale salad.... DELICIOUS! Different dishes and taste, but somehow I felt like I was ordering the cod and Singapore slaw at LEE in Toronto.

The Macao Trading Company experience was terrific, the food was perfectly cooked and flavorful without going over the top. The decor was interesting an enhanced the food experience, the service was unmatched. I highly recommend this New York City, Tribeca restaurant.

Service was good. Food was delicious. Had the grilled skirt steak and the potatoes. The steak was cooked very well and had little minced garlic pieces on top that were delicious. The potatoes were very seasoned and tasty
