Great place … the wait staff was excellent I must say … very professional, warm and efficient. The host at the front door seemed a little enamored with him self and was not as welcoming as one would have thought. I had a reservation but, stopped by about 45 minutes early to ask if I could be seated early. The answer was I had to come back at the reservation time even though … clearly there were open tables avaliable. But, if you exclude the host experience … it was a five star occasion

Ordered the lobster dumplings, cripy pork belly, and wedge salad to start. The sauce for dumplings were so good that left us dipping our bread in it. The crispy pork belly was cooked to perfection and paired with pineapple bites was a nice touch. The wedge salad were three operation variations on a wedge which is a nice and unique twist on a classic. For dinner we ordered the scalibut and swordfish which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Everything was so fresh! There was a nice selection of wines/drinks and the biscuit to start of was great. Staff was so friendly, personable and attentive. Since it was our elopement dinner they brought out two decadent chocolate mousse truffles on the house which was a nice little surprise especially since we were way too full to order anything else (but gladly would have!)

Food excellent. Concise menu no pages and pages. So glad we had reservations; next time I’m coming just for the bar and bar scene. Once Glenn, our waiter understood our allergy concerns, he offered alternative options. Also going the sister restaurant the palace on my next visit. Great recommendation.

The shrimp was over the top A SALTY!!!! The waitress asked ahead whether I had dietary concerns and I already told her I can’t do too much salt. Why didn’t she tell me before I ordered that the shrimp was salty? Secondly I asked if they had herbal non-caffeinated tea and she names two that contained caffeine. She needs more education regarding the menu. Not enough to just be courteous.

Discover New Orleans

French, Spanish and Creole influences evolved New Orleans cuisine into a genre all its own. Combine Gulf coast seafood, a butter-based sauce and Cajun spices, and you’re looking at a classic Nola dish. Take the famed crawfish boil, for instance, which locals advise is best eaten as a family. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the restaurant industry banded together to support their city in the wake of serious devastation. New restaurants began opening their doors, and today you’ll find a wealth of cuisines that span the classics to modern reinventions to everything in between.
