A warm restaurant combining the two best things of Mama's kitchen: food and wine.
Mima's provides the perfect backdrop for a first class dining experience. A traditional Italian menu highlighting local seasonal ingredients, matched by an exceptional wine list. Reservations are taken up to 30 days in advance.
Mima is a reminder of all our grandmothers and mothers who taught and cooked for us through the years.
From food to wine, everything has the heart of our past.
We invite you to our location in Irvington to experience Mima, simply a kitchen.
The food was excellent and the service was also very good. However, if you want a quiet setting, this is not the place. We went on St. Valentine's Day and regretted our decision the moment we sat down. We could barely hear each other across the table, which was located very close to other tables. We heard the entire conversation of the party next to us even though we tried very hard to focus on our own conversation which was hard to do due to the noise level. Maybe it is not too bad on a 'regular' night, but for a romantic dinner, you should consider a larger restaurant with more room between tables.
Delicious food and amazing service!
The food was delicious. The wine was cold and smooth. The risotto balls were very tasty, as well as the chickpea dish.
The steak was a little over done. The cheesecake was the perfect amount and the flavor was phenomenal.
Delicious calamari, and eggplant rollatini. Octopus was too sweet and a skimpy portion. Good vibe, great service and nice wines
The brunch food was delicious! The staff was attentive and friendly. Kid=friendly atmosphere. Great drinks!
A quiet brunch in a lovely atmosphere. Both of us throughly enjoyed our meals. Service was attentive- the waitress even charged my phone which was in danger of dying!
We waited 1 hour for a table!
Great little Italian restaurant in Irvington. Warm and cozy - as much fun for two as for a large party.
Great menu, service and food. Warm and inviting with tables that comfortably separated so you don’t have to hear your neighbors conversations. Don’t miss the risotto balls or the grilled octopus.
the pan seared salmon was good
the tiramisu was pretty bad but the tartuffe was excellent
never like when they start your meal with stale reheated bread
Excellent service and as always wonderful food!
We got seated in the back and it was INCREDIBLY loud. I don’t know if it’s the acoustic of the room, but there are only like 5-6 tables back there. The back of the restaurant isn’t as dark and sultry as the front - definitely try to sit near the front and NOT the back room.
Good food, good drinks!
We have enjoyed Mima’s for many years.
Had met a couple of girlfriends for lunch
Midweek. All of us felt they stepped up their game
As the food was very inventive and delicious.
A must go in Irvington.
I came here for restaurant week with my girlfriend and overall the meal was good. I had the burrata cannolo as my appetizer, salmon as my entrée (good not great) and the strawberry cheesecake gelato which I enjoyed. My girlfriend got the rice balls which were very good, the salmon and the bombolini as her dessert. The bombolini was average but everything else was good and the half off wine on Mondays is a sweet deal. I would come back.
Had a great meal. Our waiter was very attentive but not overbearing. The food was very tasty.
The food is always so good here. Reasonable wine list. Lovely warm atmosphere.
AMAZING food and service!!!! We were in town for 3 days and ate there 2 days in a row!!!! A must do!!
A true gem. Great menu, great wine list, friendly staff. One of our favorite options in the area.
Great Service! Food very good and the wine bottle specials were great!
The drinks were the best part of the evening. Manager served overcooked fish special that crumbled and he threw on the plate. Chose to serve it that way and when we finally got him to come over to the table he said he was busy taking care if other things. Guess we weren't important to him. Branzino was mediocre at best. We did have the sweetest waitress who couldn't have been any more apologetic. She said the regular chef was not cooking. VERY off night. We had been before and food was great. Such a disappointment, as we were celebrating my sisters birthday. We will NOT be back!!!
Small intimate setting
Food was unique.
Food was Fresh and flavorful.
Not a single thing. Maybe, just maybe, the staff could dress in a coordinated way so we can tell who is who, but thats nothing, just a comment.
Excellent as always ,one of my favorite westchester restaurants.
The restaurant was very crowded and our table was 40 minutes late. We were given complimentary drinks and apps. They were so nice.
Haven't been here in a while and I doubt I will be coming back. Food was very plain and the octopus dish was probably the worst I ever had. Go elsewhere.
Although I enjoyed and I would return , I think that all pasta should be under $25.00
$29/29 for pasta in a small restaurant in quaint town in Westchester is $$$. I am from Manhattan and think this was high.
Entrees should all be close to 31 wherever possible
We love this place. Have been many times and never disappoints. Quaint, charming - feels like soho in Westchester! Excellent service and food....
Excellent pasta dishes! We loved it.
We had an incredible cheese and meat platter and unbelievable Carbonara. My only issue was with the pork belly special entree. I’m always a little hesitant ordering that because of the fat but the waiter described how it was prepared and that the fat was cooked down. To the contrary it was really all fat. The vegetables were great and the sauce amazing but I should have said something at the time. We’ll definitely be back but will stay away from the pork belly.
The chicken Scarpariello receipt has been changed Gone is the slow cooked bone in chicken, tasty sausage. Now uses only white meat chicken and loaded down with jalapeños.
I was unable to eat it
One of our all time favorites...never had anything that was less than perfectly delicious. Wine is excellent. Never ever disappoints. We recently took friends who cant wait to return.
Mima Vinoteca is a family favorite. Whether we're there with just a few friends or a table full of family, the service is always exceptional and the food is great.
Food was fair to good but prices exorbitant
Absolutely adorable Italian restaurant. Genuinely kind and friendly staff.
We were very disappointed overall. The good part was that we did not feel rushed at all and enjoyed a table on the back for six people. The service was slow and it was very frustrating when one of our party did not get her entrée. They forgot to make it and was delayed by about 10 minutes.
very good authentic italian food. cozy bistro feel. we sat in the back room which i dont like quite as much as sitting in the front w the bar.
Service was superb and the food was delicious. Great chicken Scarpiello! Creamsicle cheesecake is great. Highly recommend.
Warm, welcoming staff, old school ambiance with classic good cooking. Manager Arturo knows his restaurant and diners; chef/owner Dominic friendly, skilled and creative. Based on my past orders they suggested two wines which we were invited to taste (I liked the inexpensive 2016 La Cattura Toscana), and an Osso Bucco that was excellent.
On the main drag in Irvington within easy reach of Rockland and Westchester. Deserves a try.
The attentiveness of the servers were amazing! The small venue is cozy and the food was delicious. Must try-burratta, peach and prosciutto crostini; spaghetti carbonara, eggplant roll anti I and the short rib gnocchi......
I have been to Mimas a few times before. Last night was the first time sitting in the back room and I was extremely disappointed at how many bugs (big and small) were flying around the back room during our entire dinner. This is extremely unsanitary and makes for a less than ideal dining experience when you are waving flies away from your face and food the whole meal. It’ll be a while before we go back and if we do - we will only sit in front of the restaurant since I don’t remember this being an issue when we sat up front.
We were disappointed- reviews oversold this. We were a party of five and each ordered different appetizers and different entrees. There was not much flavor in most of the dishes. The only successful dishes were the octopus appetizer, spaghetti carbonara and rigatoni bolegnese. Unfortunately, everything else was bland (and the branzino was not fileted well either, as there were a number of bones). The desserts were very good!
