Minetta Tavern was all I hoped it would be. What great New York experience. Great energy by all the staff and patrons. Food was delicious. Love the atmosphere!
What a wonderful restaurant! From the moment we walked through the velvet curtains 'til the time we walked out, our experience couldn't have been better. The front of the house staff could not have been more accommodating and personable; the wait staff was equally professional, courteous and friendly and the food was perfect. Two of us had the eggs benedict which we both proclaimed to be the best we ever had; the other two had omelets with a small salad which was equally appreciated. We ordered a divine coconut cake with four forks and the house treated us to delicious pots de creme. We can't say enough about this dining experience...except the ambiance is charming and old world with sketches adorning the walls that were done decades ago and a beautiful mercury mirrored wall behind the fabulous bar. (Don't miss the bloody marys!)
I ordered the pasta, and my husband had the burger, both listed on the mains menu. Both were delicious but the burger was giant and the pasta was tiny (6 pieces only), so I was still hungry afterwards. I wish I would have known how small it would be.
The Minetta Tavern was a polished version of old New York: pictures of celebrities from the past, red banquettes, solid meal offerings and excellent service made it fun night out on the town in the bustling West Village.
Always great. The ambience is sensational and one of the must-do new York experiences. Service in the restaurant room could be a tad more attentive
Hamburger lived up to the hype and then some. Old school NYC "clubby" ambiance at its best. The staff made myself and my son feel like regulars (although we weren't). Drinks were well prepared, albeit bar a bit slow. Overall, great experience and will be back. Mr. E, Pittsburgh, Penna.
The best Burger I’ve ever had!
Portion size of my entree was very small. Which usually wouldn’t complain about. However, not worth it for the price. Also, I was not warned by the server. Ambiance would have been nice... however, we had three people and it felt like we were sat at a two person table that they put an extra chair at the end of to make it three. We had a reservation so I didn’t expect this.
Amazing food, every time! Black Label burger is a must!!
Martini, Oysters, Cote de Boeuf for 2.... one of the best steaks in NY, the staff actually pays attention to everyone. The only gripe is all the tourists in tee-shirts, destroys the ambiance...
Awesome service and incredible food.
Burger and Martinis were excellent. Highly recommend the corner booth table.
Great food, fun location. Expert bartenders.
Great place for a special occasion. Very “New York” and good food. The black label burger is worth it!!!
Romantic! Delicious! Good drinks!
Bone marrow is off the charts delicious. And the Bloody Mary selection.
First time to New York was recommended this restaurant would like to know the wine we ordered our waiter was Tony. He recommended this mild red wine which was like a blush was 170/Bottle. The manager was the one that poured it for us thank you so much 5737480243
Minetta Tavern is my favorite restaurant in NYC. We celebrate birthdays, nights on the town and we even got engaged here. The service is always exquisite, the ambience is fantastic and the food is incredible. The Black Label burger is more than just the best burger in the city — it’s a revelation, one best paired with a well-chilled vodka martini.
Excellent burgers. Be sure you don't get a table near the kitchen...highway ambiance and we needed to be reseated. Other than that great place.
Best Burger. Service was exceptional. Next time I am in town, I'll make it a priority!
Just perfect! Great corner booth. Exquisite Fish Special! Fine service.
Steak for two is one of the best in NYC
Great as usual
There are a handful of restaurants that can only exist in NYC and Minetta Tavern is one of them. The moment you leave the bustle of Macdougal Street and walk into the restaurant, it transforms you. The ambiance is pure NYC: sophisticated yet casual, and the staff is gracious, knowledgable and warm. My friend and I were seated in a corner table in the back dining room, which was perfect to catch up. The NY strip steak was fantastic, and the wine our waiter suggested to pair it with was flawless. Minetta Tavern is one of those places, that I love to pop into for a Martini at the bar or go for dinner with a friend. For me, it's as close to ideal as I can expect.
I'm not one prone to hyperbole- The black label burger is one of the best things I've eaten in my life. Great classic atmosphere, wonderful service. Highly recommend a visit.
Minetta was excellent as always. The only surprise came when we found out that the bar and dining room are two different entities with two different menus.
If you want bar food be sure to reserve the bar. Our mistake was awesome, but very costly.
A nice upscale restaurant with a cozy feeling. We liked being there and feeling that we were in New York. Service was impeccable. My wife thought the Moules Frites were the best ever. My Croque Monsieur could have been half the size and double the flavor, but it was still OK. I have had many better ones. I asked for Dijon mustard which was delivered promptly. The Minetta Tavern is labeled a French restaurant, but be prepared that the most popular order seemed to be a Dry Martini and a hamburger. Maybe that what is they do in France these days, too...
Place is amazing. Best burgers out there!
The food is just classic and amazing!
Dad and daughter dinner. Always amazing. Love sitting at the bar as much as the dining room. Bone marrow and a black label burger with cocktails made for another memorable visit.
Order the Black Label Burger. It is life changing. It's a bit expensive but definitely worth the price!
Excellent food, the bar is very crowded, try to book a table far from the kitchen
Wonderful service and delicious food in a cozy but not cramped neo-bistro!
Highly energetic at night. Their burger is unbelievable and definitely a must.
Despite being late for our reservation (rainy night/rush hour/no cabs) we were greeted warmly by hostesses and seated at our table. Catherine our server was excellent. Food and ambiance were wonderful. This is truly an iconic restaurant!
Eat some cattle if you go, burger is obviously very good and bone marrow/steaks are all good. Fish was very weak, disappointing to say the least.
Black label burger is probably the best burger in the world
