Best restaurants near me in Escondido, CA

Ok, this is not a Michelin star type of place but taken for what it is, my grades reflect it against a gastro pub-like category. On that account, everything is fantastic. Obviously the beers are great and varied but the cuisine, the service (including being able to order via QR code) and value-for-money were far better than expected. Normally I'm not big on ambience in that you can't eat and digest it but in this case, inside and outside absolutely adds to the overall experience and that starts on the walkway from the parking lot.

It was the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time! The food was absolutely incredible and they paid attention to every little detail! And not just to the food, but to the place settings, the chairs, the cucumber water, the amuse bouche, the palate cleanser, literally everything. Even the bathrooms were creative and pleasant. The ambience was warm and comfortable, and the noise level was just right. The service was also incredible, never had to ask for anything, and gave great recommendations from the menu. The Pork Tomahawk was on this delicious polenta and chorizo size and we loved it! We also loved the Farmer’s Vegetables and the drinks we had. I never write reviews, but I really want to support this local restaurant because it is excellent and we will definitely be going back!

We awaited 15 minutes before server came to our table. The servers rarely checked in. Had at ask for where our guacamole was after 20 minutes. Same with second round of drinks.

The Brussel Sprouts and Calamari were both excellent. The main dish we had was the Crispy Skin sea bass...it was so good. The service by our waitress was very good and she was very knowledgeable of the dishes and gave us great recommendations. That was our first time there and we will going back.

Had a really great time at Vintana. My friend and I went during happy hour and we tried a bunch of dishes. She really loved the chicken wings and I really enjoyed the wedge salad. My mocktail, the prickly no pear, was really delicious as well. Our waiter was really great as well, but unfortunately I forgot his name. :/ This was my first time eating outside on the lanai (I had been once before, but ate inside) and it was really nice sitting by the fire pit, as it was a bit chilly. Just an all around wonderful time!
