The service excellent once we got it. It took the waitress roughly about 10 minutes to get to us, but once she did, she was wonderful. Very friendly and quite helpful with the menu.

We made reservations for a Tuesday lunch online and it could not have been easier. We went through their website to start the process. It was a special celebratory lunch for our son-in-law. We wanted to have a congratulatory cake delivered for dessert. I e-mailed Old Ebbitt Grill to inquire if possible. Noelyne responded in a timely manner. I was able to arrange delivery from the cake shop on the morning of our lunch and to have it refrigerated. The back-and-forth e-mails to set this up were excellent. Great comms on Noelyne’s part. It all worked out great and made for a special memory. The waiter did a great job bringing out the cake and not cutting it so we could get pictures. Lunch wise, everything was delicious. From the ribeye to the Rueben to the salad bowls. Our drink glasses were never empty. Old Ebbitt Grill turned out to be the perfect choice for our special day in D.C.

This was my fist time in a hookah restaurant, but I had nothing short of a wonderful experience. I reserved a table on Friday night with three of my friends. We were greeted immediately, shown to our table (which had very comfortable chairs and couch), and our appetizer and hookah order was taken moments later. The food was delicious and most of it was made in house, down to the seasonings they used. The environment was relaxing but encouraged conversation. Looking around at other groups in the restaurant, I rarely saw a person on their phone, which I am a huge advocate for. I have no idea why there are such negative reviews about this place. I hope to come back with the same group of friends in a week or two.
