We really enjoyed our meal at The Conche. The cocktails were great, the food was delicious. The chocolate theme was intriguing. Our server was good until it was time for the check. We had nothing left on our table except water glasses and yet it took at least 20 minutes for him to return with the check. And he only did that after we asked for it. It was strange because at that point, we were one of the few tables left in the restaurant. Hopefully it was just a fluke. We would definitely like to try it again.
It is so difficult to find a bartender that takes pride in their work. Mixed and shook my Martini exactly as requested. Everyone's meal was excellent. As a side note. My fiancee does not like carrots. She mistook the carrots served as sweet potatoes. They were excellent. Corn bred, Short ribs, and the Prime Rib was excellent.
NYAJ's has raised its prices to the point where it will be a while before we go back. $28 for a piece of salmon at lunch at a casual restaurant is pricey.
Service was very good, we always feel welcome.
A wonderful dinner. Our server Bel was outstanding. He paid attention to every detail Extra cheese, onion strings on the side etc. He brought our food promptly and check back to make sure everything was good. My husband had the brats. Very tasty and mustard good. Red cabbage just right. Not too sweet. My pulled pork sandwich was very meaty, just the right amount of sauce. Bread delicious as always. Octoberfest special beer very nice too.
Marco came around to chat and give us tastes of their NYAJ wines. We only tried the red. Excellent. Will order it the next visit! Hats off to Bel, Marco, and the chef!
