Ocean Prime - Troy

I was here 2 weeks ago and just came back. I love it here. Best menu all around and everything I order comes out perfect. Got that bone in filet with the zip sauce this time! It was top notch

We found service and entrees very good. Quick note, do not ask server to come back if he asked to take orders. Other tables were filling up fast, which caused a backlog in the kitchen. My snapper was excellent, husband's salmon, excellent as well. 3rd person had "special" sea bass. Said it was very good, but $65.00? Very similar menu item was about $44.00, $21.00 difference not worth it. Valet and hostesses spot on.

While we go for other occasions, it has become a tradition to dine at Ocean Prime on New Years Eve.
This year was the best, made all the all more enjoyable by our server John.

We had a delicious New Years Eve dinner with family. The restaurant set up the private dining area with tables to accommodate more guests. At first when we entered the room (outside of main dining area) I was a little nervous about our table location. However it was absolutely perfect, noise level was lower that being in the main dining areas. Everything was very good and even though it was a busy night we did not feel rushed to turn over our table for the next party.

We visited on a Sunday w reservations at 645 for four of us. They weren't busy however our server was overseeing all of the tables in our area -about 5. This caused her to be less than attentive. Long time on cocktails. Too much lapse of time on the check back of food including steaks.. for the prices, I'd expect crackerjack service and impeccable flavors. The food was just good. Nothing more. Nothing impressive.

Celebrating a promotion. Complementary champagne toast. Very unexpected.

Food was amazing from the appetizers to the entrees. The server was on point the whole time guiding us through the menu and making sure our drinks were never empty. I have no issue with the experience just be ready to pull out the wallet it is a bit pricey.

The best meal and service that I've had in a long while

I always love this place. It’s one of my favorites of all time. Everything we ordered was perfect and I got the 10 oz boneless filet and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had. I tell everyone to come to ocean prime if they haven’t been.

The waiter was sooooooo annoying. He checked on us every .02 seconds which is fine but when we would ask a question he would reply with a whole novel of answers which is so unnecessary and wasted our time. On top of that the steak was like a rock and he blamed it on the knife not being sharpened. The sushi tasted old and and the food took over an hour and a half to come out and with our waiter who didnt know how to stop talking it wasted so much of our time and was a horrible night. Never again

Little dark and a little noisy but the staff from hostess to wait staff are great.
It was our 28th Wedding anniversary and they made it extra special.

Date night with the wife. We just moved back to Michigan after being in South Carolina the last few years and this was our “go to” spot while we were here. I proposed at this location to my wife and the previous Chef Adam always had excellent food! This time around I was not impressed. We ended up sitting in the bar area and our server was excellent although I can’t remember his name. We got the deviled eggs to start for an appetizer which were good and the bartender made an excellent old fashioned. When it came to the entrees I had the sea bass and my wife had the salmon. She ordered hers medium well as she doesn’t like her salmon really pink but this came out charred and dried out. My sea bass was decent although I felt it was over cooked as well and not that buttery amazing taste it normally has to it. When you’re paying over $40 for salmon and $50 for the seabass my expectation would be to have it cooked perfectly every time it comes out of the kitchen. Just a recommendation to keep an eye on the food before it hits the table and make sure it’s cooked right.

Server never brought bread, etc. to the table.
Asked for salt, didn’t come ‘til we were almost finished with our meal. She advised restaurant had new policy of going minimalist? and took salt and pepper shakers from the tables.
She also started to take side dish plate away without asking if person was done with it.
I felt as if you put too many tables in the dining area because person at next table was extremely close to me .

Janelle was the best waitress. Food was great. Enjoyed meeting general manager. mark weiss. A great evening.

We were shopping and got hungry and this was an unexpectedly delightful experience.

Celebrating Christmas!

Disappointed in the lack of holiday decoration during the time of visit (12/17/2019)

The table next to the window was toooo breezy and close to the private room where you could hear everything going on. Need a sound proof wall or it disturbs your privacy in room next door...…….walls too thin!!!

The ambience was wonderful! Food was great! The server and wait staff was very professional.

Came here for my husband’s birthday and everything was AMAZING. They were so accommodating and Frank, our server, was INCREDIBLE. He did not rush us and he had a very pleasant disposition. They even brought out my husband’s birthday cake that I brought and included a candle and everything. They really made my husband’s night and it was truly a birthday for the books. The food was amazing, and was hot and fresh. Will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful food. Lots of noise, quieted down somewhat after 8 PM. Engaging, helpful waitstaff, despite some mixups - seems as though attention can suffer sometimes from a 'team' approach, and had a snafu on one of our entree orders,probably because computer screen had adjacent touchlinks. However, with the prices in mind, we'll probably go back when in Troy. The scallops were the best ever, and we're lovers of those!

As with all of our previous visits, this Ocean Prime experience was first rate. This time around it was calamari, lobster bisque, Chilean sea bass, and chocolate peanut butter pie. The food and service were excellent.
We will be returning soon.

A little to dark for eating and the musice was inappropriate...soft jazz would be better,and not rock!
