Piccolo Restaurant of Huntington
A "faithful" crowd stays true to this upscale New American-Italian in Huntington, which "deserves its reputation" for "superb cuisine" spanning "delicious pastas" to "phenomenal meat and fish"; the "top-notch" service and "intimate" setting will "make any occasion special", but make sure to reserve ahead because the cozy "close quarters" fill up fast on the weekends.
Received the "Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator in 2018.

I would have given them four stars on the food, but I cut my mouth on a razor sharp, broken oyster shell. I pointed it out to the waiter. nothing was done. I would have at least thought he would have taken the $3 culprit off my tab.
Fabulous food. service and ambience. George. Willie and Jason truly are amazing. Our favorite restaurant for great soups. appetizers, entrees and wine.
The service from the start was excellent. We had a large party that unfortunately shrank. Manager was extremely accommodating. Friend and I arrived early, he sat us at the table and promptly brought us a drink. Food was amazing!
The greatest food and service on Long Island
Staff and food is always magnificent. Special local restaurant.
I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a special date and this place did not disappoint! It was perfect! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and the food/wine was amazing. Great spot!
Love Piccolo so much! Fantastic all around.
Great service from the whole staff.
Great care for detail and recognition of our special occasion.
Food was tasty and prepared quickly.
We had another lovely dinner at Piccolo!☺️ We were celebrating a birthday this time and everything was perfect! Piccolo never disappoints and is a favorite!☺️
They couldnt sit us side by side, the first table they sat us at we were being rushed because they need the table in an hour. They moved us, took our order, after an hour we didn’t receive the food and they said they forgot to put our order in so we left without food.
Bustling Italian restaurant - service was excellent, but not overbearing and the thing I liked about it was they had half plates. It was later in the evening after a long day and it was exactly what the doctor ordered
Wonderful dining experience. Had to wait a few minutes for our table, but enjoyed a nice glass of wine during our wait.
Our go to spot for date night for 12 years now. Always delicious options, great service, and most importantly consistency. Usually go with a soup or shellfish appetizer and whatever the fish special is.
The duck is also great.
Best stuffed artichoke outside of Pauline’s home made!
Delicious penne a la vodka and chicken cutlet
Greatest Cosmo ever.
We will return again soon
Excellent food, excellent service. This is one of our go-to places because we always know we will have a great experience. One disappointment - truffle ravioli no longer on the menu - so I tried the panko crusted tuna instead... and enjoyed it immensely!
this is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions....the food is always superb and the the service always excellent!
Loved the food we had spaghetti and meat balls and the roasted chicken
The service is amazing at both the bar (mark) and the dining room
We have been to this restaurant several times, this time was not as good as always
As always, Piccolo's is an exceptional restaurant that my husband and I adore. The staff, the food, the ambience gets better all the time.
Top to bottom excellent experience as always
Met by Dean who is always a pleasure
Great service at the bar
Wonderful food, wine and service in the dining room
The tuna tartare was incredible & the hot antipasto was fresh& perfectly prepared. Love the seafood pasta!
Service was excellent. Food not so much. Linguini with clams was full of sand, overly salted and heavy. Salad was delicious. Bread ok. Although we ate early, they were out of tirimasu. The chocolate 'log' as an alternative was also pretty disappointing. Wine was quite good and terribly overpriced as usual for a restaurant. Waiters were great. Maybe the chef was having an off night.
Outstanding restaurant in every way
Excellent food and service.
Food was great, service was perfect - there when you need them, gone when you don't. Seemed like team service too so not just one person assigned to the table. Our group had the artichoke starter and burrata - so good. Artichoke but a bit messy but worth it - and they give you warm lemon towels after to clean your hands. We had gnocchi, chicken parm, stuffed salmon, & shrimp scampi at our table and everyone loved there food. No surprises with prices. Overall real good.
The food was good but over priced for what we were served. The drinks were almost double the cost of other local restaurants. The ambiance and waiters were very nice.
Wonderful way to begin aweekend having dinner at Piccolo. The food is fabulous with Willie the chef
always preparing the most amazing soups, entrees and appetizers. George our waiter makes us feel right at home and makes sure that everything is perfect from the moment that we sit down until we are finished with our meal. My husband and I never are dissappointed simply because they are the best restaurant in town and on Long Island...
We have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years. It has a great neighborhood location and in the past has offered up scale Italian dishes. Our recent experience was less than stellar. Our vegetarian eggplant appetizer arrived cold on the inside. Shrimp with angel hair pasta had a “fishy” aftertaste for one guest. The chicken was okay, not great/not bad. Service was good but I would think twice about visiting this restaurant again.
This is my husband’s favorite restaurant and we go often enough but they don’t even ask us what we want for cocktails but automatically bring them to us. It is quiet enough to have conversations over wonderful meals.
Piccolo never disappoints. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Menu staples like the oyster/truffle/Prosciutto app is always perfect, a new twist on the carbonara with sausage and asparagus was decadently excellent! Atmosphere is lovely white tablecloth. Still a favorite of this restaurant group.
Went for wife’s birthday. Food and service was outstanding. Zucchini blossoms were excellent, highly recommend.
I’ve found the quality of the food has gotten very average. I would prefer to go to their sister restaurant where the view is nice vs being stuck in the corner by the bar on a Saturday night.
Service was good, specials explained. The details that would be expected at that price point were missing. The food, while good, was simply above average. A delicious appetizer of melon and prusitto with figs was spoiled by the melon being warm. No one came by to re-pour the wine. The duck, while good was somewhat overdone and the veggies with the fish were bathed in oil, not crisp. The preparations were tasty, but not warrenting of the "I have got to have this again" thought.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant with everything that shines....the food, the service and the ambience.
My husband and I had a reservation on a Saturday night and were seated immediately upon check-in. Unfortunately, our table was situated in the back right next to the walkway where the wait staff came in and out of the kitchen. So there was constant movement past our table. In addition, there was a very loud-speaking women seated across the walkway from us. So it was not only noisy but annoyingly so. Once the table departed (about halfway through our meal), it did get better. The waiter was friendly and efficient. And the food was good but not great. We were celebrating my husband's birthday - so we were hoping for a bit quieter, more romantic atmosphere. Also, I had noted his birthday on the reservation, which the host mentioned when he seated us. There was no candle or recognition like other tables seem to have (my husband was actually grateful for this!) All in all, not a memorable meal. There are many other places in our area that are so much better.
We made reservations for our anniversary and were dotted promptly at the time requested The host gave us a beautiful table near the open doors on a gorgeous evening. We were promptly served and the food was prepared perfectly and delicious. They even made is a congratulatory desert. The restaurant exceeded our expectations.
Always a good experience. Consistently a great choice in Huntington Village / Southdown.
An older crowd but fantastic ratings across all categories. There is nothing that disappoints
