The whole experience was amazing. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding and the little birthday surprise of a card and cake finished my visit off perfectly. Thank you.

The food is great, and inventive, if a little poncy. While the service was good, it felt far too overzealous giving the impression that they were aiming to flip the table as quickly as possible - not the feeling you want when you’re in a Michelin starred restaurant. Overall, a place to check out for the food and the people watching.

While we had a reservation and we arrived in time, we were greeted and then seated in the lounge allowing us to properly "arrive." There was no hurrying us. When seated, an army of staff took care of us, from explaining the menu to presenting the wine list to constantly (though not invasively) checking to see that everything was perfect.
The food was spectacular and came with little extras between courses. I've already recommended Pollen Street Social to my friend's parents as they will visit Lindon later in the year.

I have been a head chef in rosette hotels in Ireland since I was 24 some 20 years ago and I have 2 say the 2 of us enjoyed our meal so much the different flavours like I could never imagine myself liking oyster ice cream but it was fab as was the whole meal and even thou service was excellent it was so nice 2 see not everyone dressed in suits and afraid 2 talk 2 each other as I have experienced in other Michelin restaurants, well done and it made our trip 2 London special even if my father thinks I'm nuts for paying that much for food as he just doesn't get it,finally the mushroom soup with afternoon tea simply incredible and loved the ice cream game.

I'd dined at Pollen Street Social before and enjoyed it, so decided to visit again. I would have to say though, that this visit was not as good as the memory of the first.

We opted for the tasting menu and, at £115 pp without wine, it is certainly not one of the cheapest available in London. The highlights of this menu are the sublime Jersey rock oyster ice cream and meltingly tender dry aged Lake District beef, along with a well-balanced and visually stunning dark chocolate and sesame mousse dessert. However, the whole experience felt a little lacking. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but I got the impression that it was all a little flat, over-engineered and deliberately overpriced.

The service was attentive and knowledgeable, but we must have seen about seven different members of staff at our table, which meant it felt a bit impersonal at times. That said, however, both sommeliers we encountered were excellent and made fine recommendations from the pricey but extensive wine list.

My biggest issue though is one of my pet hates with Michelin starred restaurants: after lunch/dinner coffees. Now, I don't know if I'm being unreasonable, but I think that if you're spending close to £400 for dinner for two (plus tip), a coffee should not really be an extra charge. And certainly, as it was in this case, an extortionate £7 each extra! I think the coffees were supposed to be served with petit fours (as my guest noticed that some tables had received something with their after-lunch drinks), but they were not offered nor or given to us.

Would I recommend lunch at Pollen Street social to a friend? Yes, I probably would for the quality of the food and the buzzy atmosphere. But not the tasting menu. Go for the lunch menu, which did look excellent. You'll save yourself a lot of money and maybe even have enough to afford two coffees.

This was our favorite restaurant while traveling on holiday in London. From start to finish we were impressed. We arrived early so we sat at the bar to find a bartender who made a Vesper that had a different flair, It was delicious and his lemon garnish was a form of artwork! They had a sensational tasting menu but we decided to have the cote' de boeuf for two. This quite possibly was the best meal I have ever eaten! The mac n cheese was to die for and the beef was seasoned with a crispy crust but meat was cooked to perfection! I rarely take the time to write reviews but this was worthy of my time!

I was initially slightly afraid that the decor would make the experience a bit clinical--in fact the atmosphere was warm and the service incredibly friendly. The food was outstanding: the amuse-bouch 'afternoon tea' is lovely and playful. Mains were excellent and the sommelier service just right in its combination of suggestions, guidance and advice. Also, choose a herbal tea if you... a jungle trolley comes to you! Absolutely lovely evening.

We had an excellent lunch at this restaurant on Saturday. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent.
My only criticism is that I was not told when I booked that last orders for lunch is at 2.45pm. Our table was reserved for 2.30pm and our guests were unavoidably delayed however the staff did agree to accepting a late order.

The food is excellent.
It was my friend's birthday, appreciated a card but no compliment drink.
A half bottle of red wine should be left on the table, so we can serve by ourselves, a sommelier was too busy to keep his eye for all tables.
During our dessert, next table was cleared and started punching a cushion into shape, that caused dust. I complained and a waitress gave me a nasty look.

Service was very rushed. We had the taster menu and the second course was brought out before we had finished the first. After 4 courses of this we asked the waiter if they could slow down, but he was convinced he was bringing them to us at the correct pace. The man on the table next to us didn’t eat his first course for the same reason. The Cocktails were very good.

Outstanding food just disappointed from the off that one our choice of seafood starter to share was no longer available and it was only 8.30pm.
Also our main course was forgotten until we mentioned that we hadn’t received it 1 hour after our starters they suddenly appeared within 1 minute. Wonderful food though and a great sommelier. Would like to go back, maybe for lunch.

One of my favourite fine dining restaurants in London. Having had the lunch and taster menus before we decided on the a-la-carte this time. Food again was excellent, however, things were let down a little by the service being too quick. Perhaps 20 seconds after we ordered, the selection of amuse bouche's were on the table - and they take up almost the whole table! Then the starters arrived less than a minute later and we hadn't even finished the amuse bouches - the staff tried to rearrange things on the table - there was not even space to rest my phone on the edge of the table. I was praying - please don't bring the main courses as quickly or we'd be through 3 courses in half an hour.....Luckily they slowed down a bit after the starters. Would definitely return, but maybe would ask them to not be too quick with the starters!

I usually have a great experience at Pollen St and the a la carte menu is incredible. However, our experience last week with the lunch menu was poor. Both main courses were not up to standard (dover sole and chicken). The dover sole looks and tastes like sashimi that has had a brief meeting with a pan, and the flavours were underwhelming. Neither of us finished our main courses and I told the waiter I did not want to. We left straight after rather than have dessert. Service was also patchy, with bread served late and more waiting around than usual - for wine, cocktails before, and the bill. The atmosphere on a weekday is quite loud, with mostly business lunches, and design of the restaurant does nothing to limit the noise level, with tables also very close together.

I emailed my comments that afternoon to the restaurant, as no one followed up with me about our main courses. The email I received from head office in return read like a rebuke that I hadn't alerted the manager to my concerns at the time, which made me feel that it was my fault that I had not had a good meal or good value for (a large amount of) money. There was a mention that we would be accommodated if we wanted to return. Thanks for that? My view is that, in a restaurant such as this, a suggestion that a meal has not been up to standard should be followed up by the waiter and they can raise it to the manager. I do not know who the manager is and I am not the kind of person who likes to loudly demand to speak to the manager in a restaurant - and I would have had to have been loud to be heard over the noise. I am disappointed to have to write this review but I feel I have given the restaurant the opportunity to respond privately or offer an apology, and this has not happened. I would recommend this restaurant generally - but definitely not on a weekday lunchtime.

We had the lunchtime 3 course menu with wine - which is excellent value. Despite it being a pared down menu the course options were great and with additional amuse bouche, pre-dessert and petit four which were super tasty and beautifully presented.
The service is exceptional - attentive (when expected), friendly and knowledgable.
By the time we left the restaurant was full so the noise level had increased considerably but this did not detract from the fabulous meal we’d had.

I had a very mixed experience at pollen street. The starter was one of the best I’d ever had -slow cooked egg with crispy chicken skin. But my main dish of Dover sole was one of the worst. The food was lukewarm, the fish was chewy and impossible to cut through and the lemon mash was not a combination I enjoyed. Really disappointing. Thankfully the pudding was delicious and so glad we had coffee so we could sample the amazing petit fours.
