Dining Bar
Located within the historic grounds of the Guinness Storehouse, 1837 Bar & Brasserie celebrates the best of Ireland. Named after the year Guinness and oysters were named as the perfect match.

With great views of Dublin city and a menu of classics - smoked salmon, oysters and a rather famous Guinness burger - along with likes of flatbreads, sharing plates and a Guinness chocolate mousse that playfully resembles a glass of the black stuff.

All dishes are designed by our award winning chef Sean Hunter, to be enjoyed with the range of Guinness beers on offer along with a full drinks list.

The Guinness Storehouse restaurants are open to the public without an experience ticket. We ask that restaurant visitors pre-book their table whenever possible. Walk up visitors to our restaurant will be admitted subject to availability. Please be aware restaurant access does not give you Guinness Storehouse Visitor Experience, but you can buy a ticket on arrival at admissions.

If you love, love, love Guinness and amusement park level marketing, you will love 1837. For us, by the time we reached the top, we were over marketed to and Guinnessed out. Food was fine, service was fine but it just failed to live up to the hype. I had the Guinness stew. It was good but there's better across Dublin. Also tried the wings (same, nothing special) and crab (which was odd).

We had a lovely time at dinner. The service was perfect and so was the food. We were even visited by a cute seagull. We didn’t feed it. Went upstairs afterwards and it was nice to see people enjoying themselves without being sloppy. Great experience in the store as well.

I had lunch at the 1837 Bar and Brasserie. As an appetizer, I had a half dozen oysters with a Guinness Extra Stout. I ordered the cheeseburger for my entree. Everything was prepared perfectly. I never felt rushed. The staff were polite and professional. It is a nice place to take a break during your tour if you have the time.

Loved the Irish Stew!!! The slice of bread that came with it was out of this world.

Very difficult to rate, since we never were served food. Sat for dinner and requested accommodation for some food allergies. These are not severe allergies (nuts and sesame - only when ingested) but the kitchen (speaking only through the server and no coming to speak with us directly) instructed us they could not serve us and we'd need to leave. Very disappointing end to what had been an enjoyable visit. Most restaurants will work to accommodate non-severe allergies but this experience showed a complete lack of interest in our patronage.

Food quality not good. The burger was cold. Service was fast but not worth the price
