Located within the historic grounds of the Guinness Storehouse, 1837 Bar & Brasserie celebrates the best of Ireland. Named after the year Guinness and oysters were named as the perfect match.

With great views of Dublin city and a menu of classics - smoked salmon, oysters and a rather famous Guinness burger - along with likes of flatbreads, sharing plates and a Guinness chocolate mousse that playfully resembles a glass of the black stuff.

All dishes are designed by our award winning chef Sean Hunter, to be enjoyed with the range of Guinness beers on offer along with a full drinks list.

The Guinness Storehouse restaurants are open to the public without an experience ticket. We ask that restaurant visitors pre-book their table whenever possible. Walk up visitors to our restaurant will be admitted subject to availability. Please be aware restaurant access does not give you Guinness Storehouse Visitor Experience, but you can buy a ticket on arrival at admissions.

                                      It’s my fault for thinking I could enjoy the seafood tower with my dietary restrictions of no Mayo ,etc. the crab meat was already mixed in with it and the prawns Al’s had a creamy sauce, so I could just get the oysters. They did let me have the Guinness 0.0 included (as opposed to a Guinness. Hubby said steak sandwich was good. We went early for lunch and got a window table. Having this lunch reservation did let us skip the main entrance line.

                                      I was so looking forward to trying the Guinness short rib stew at the 1837 Bar & Brasserie in Dublin. It's my signature dish that I cook at home. What a disappointment. Stew lacked flavour. Short rib was tough and chewy. It definitely did not meet expectations.

                                      Our server Carter was terrific. We made reservations and had lunch after our brewery tour. The beef stew was delicious and the charming atmosphere just right.

                                      Was disappointed to have to get someone to greet and seat us after our reservation time. Sign said wait to be seated and although the servers inside saw us there, no one was at, or bothered to come out to the sign where you are instructed to wait. We were 5 minutes early and after 10 minutes we found an employee outside to assist with getting attention. The food came out barely warm and our server didn’t make any effort to come and check on us after the food was placed at the table. Our meals were tasty, so we persevered. When we were nearly finished Duncan, who was not our server, stopped by. He apologized, but there was nothing to be done about our last barely warm bites, however Duncan was very attentive in make some extra efforts to improve the experience. If it wasn’t for Duncan this review would be complaint with no upside and little redemption. Maybe it was an issue of being short staffed, but there is no second chance on a first impression. Not sure I can recommend 1837 as a dining reservation choice.
