   Great food, lovely staff and restaurant!! We had starters, mains, dessert and all were delicious!! Reasonable priced given the standard of the food! Can’t wait to go back!!

   It was okay, not really good, not really bad. We went there around 7pm but some of the mains were already out of stock so we could only have a limit choices. As a birthday night as well as the anniversary night, we are not happy enough.

   Great buzzy spot in centre of Dalkey. Lovely atmosphere with live piano player. Hearty satisfying food. The only area to improve is to get a top coffee machine & coffee beans. Will definitely return and savour a leisurely meal there again

    From the minute we walked in the door we were treated like VIPs. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. Water, both sparkling and still was brought to the table (no charge for sparkling water is a nice touch). Wine was expertly served and the menu explained. Two of us shared a starter of calamari and one of us had the crab toast, laden with whole shrimp, and simply gorgeous. The special - duck - was great value and utterly delicious, plus one of our party of three was able to have a starter as a main (stuffed Yorkshire pud). We dragged out the lunch to almost two hours, finishing with French coffee. A pleasure from start to finish. Consistently good - and this is our fourth or fifth time here for lunch. We can't rave about the 1909 enough. Food, service, hospitality, decor, ambiance. Full marks.

    The food was wonderful and the decor was lovely. For the money paid I would have expected better service. We never got asked if we wanted something else to drink. Once we had received the menu for desserts we suddenly had someone standing over us demanding that we give our order quickly, which was downright unpleasant.

    The food and house wine was really great but I was disappointed cause I had requested a quiet seat but we were placed right on front of the open kitchen with a lot of kitchen noise. I’d suggest anybody who wants a quieter seat ask for one closer the the window away from the kitchen.

    I had visitors from Kerry and it was definitely the restaurant that they were most impressed with during their stay, I would highly recommend the food in particular, the staff and the whole experience. J kennelly

    1st class service and food as always, not to mention the live piano music providing the perfect ambience, not too loud that you can easily have a conversation across the table without having to raise your voice. Will always return when visiting Dalkey or nearby.

    We have been to 1909 a number of times. The service is consistently very good and professional but also friendly and warm. The food is excellent. Clearly a lot of effort is invested to provide quality with excellent presentation. The atmosphere is always relaxing and pleasant. I’d always recommend 1909 to anyone.

    Food was tasty, calamari was great but lamb shank wasn’t anything too special. Interior of the restaurant and the pianist were lovely, we were unlucky that the table next to us of about 8 were very loud and annoying but not the restaurants fault. Service was quite poor, very slow and not friendly. Having a pre-set service charge of 10% that automatically goes to wait staff is just going to encourage poor service because they know that the majority of the time, people are not going to ask for that to be removed so they’ll automatically get a tip for below average service. It definitely showed.

    Really friendly staff in warm welcoming and relaxing atmosphere The food was delicious - clean plates all round One side of mashed potatoes wasn't very hot and was immediately replaced Good value and definitely will return and recommend to others

    Could not say enough about the staff and food at 1909! I’ve never come across such professionalism. The staff are a credit to the restaurant and I can’t wait to go back again. Well done 1909 you’ve nailed the ambiance and conviviality which makes it a very special place.

    Not our first visit but our first time eating dinner at 1909. The ambience was lovely and the food was excellent. We all had different dishes and all enjoyed wha we had from the dinner menu. The fish and chips was excellent.

    Would recommend highly and will be back again. Really good service, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. We had seafood to start and fish and venison mains (both specials). A great spot!

    A Very pleasant evening- food and service were great. Background music was at a perfect level - the usual pianist wasn’t there which was a pity. We were seated in a booth and at certain times there was loud clattering of plates which didn’t last long but spoiled an otherwise perfect evening
