The Art Tea was exceptional. I particularly enjoyed browsing through the hotel's catalog of art and finding the paintings that inspired the sweets course.

Absolutely amazing experience. All the teas we tried from the extensive list were incredible, it was hard to choose to move on to a different one or get another pot of the current greatness. Plenty of food provided! First a three-tier display of 4 different kinds of finger sandwiches, 4 different kinds of cake slices, and 2 different flavors of scones. The second course is the art-inspired sweets, which change weekly. Service was fantastic, tea recommendations were spot-on, and there was even live harp music played in the room.

3 generations of women had a lovely afternoon at The Merrion Hotel. We loved both the savories and the desserts, and the endless selection of teas....but the most special part of the afternoon was the beautifully crafted sweets, inspired by artwork in the Hotel. Just fabulous! The service, also, was outstanding! Thank you for a very memorable day!

Fantabulous from start to finish. A special occasion made very special by our wonderful hostess. She had the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness, putting us completely at ease. Food was devine and we ate every single crumb, we didn't need to eat again that day...so stuffed :) Champers was very nice too. All topped off by seeing our idols from Fleetwood mac. Doesn't get much better than this. We had the best time, thank you.

Very decadent. Memorable. Would prefer more savoury offerings personally and maybe a vanilla slice/eclair/ profiterole instead of fruit cake and battenburg. Champagne very pricy. Service fantastic. Music beautiful. Would do it again.

This was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, and inventive in the way they recreate their art collection in pastry form. It was more than a full meal's worth so was glad we picked the lunchtime slot--I was still full through dinner.

Our experience of afternoon tea at the Merrion was brilliant. The service was perfect - friendly but professional and very knowledgeable. The detail that went into each aspect was exquisite, particularly the second course of mini desserts inspired by pieces of art in the hotel. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we did not feel rushed in any way. Would highly recommend as a special treat!

We were very disappointed with the slow service between the 2 courses. After 1h15 minutes we had to ask for the second course to be boxed as we could not stay any longer. We did appreciate however when we were not charged for the champagne to compensate, but we would rather have eaten all our meal there.

My mother and I, really enjoyed our afternoon tea experience. The staff were excellent, the food was good and the afternoon tea eating area was a perfect setting for afternoon tea. To our surprise the afternoon tea was a 2 course meal. Starting with the classic afternoon tea and then ending with a chef special called 'art tea'. What was made up out of three cakes/pastries, what were inspired by three of the many paintings they have hanging in the Merrion Hotel.
We found our experience delightful and pleasantly surprised with the lovely 'art tea' cakes. A must visit if you enjoy a good afternoon tea...

This hotel is superb, nice welcoming staff, beautiful room and confortable armchairs. The sandwiches were tasty, the cucumber one was my least favourite, the rest of the cakes and scones were very tasty, as soon as your tea was finished they will bring you another one, very attentive service. The work of art cakes were amazing,. We asked for a glass of champagne but we found it quite acidic. Overall it was a beautiful experience.
