   From being welcome by Rafiq and being served by Emiljia and their colleagues, everything was superb. Nothing was too big of an ask and we had the most wonderful time as always with the most magnificent view!

   - The afternoon tea spread was very basic. Have had better spreads in other places. - Red wine was spilt by a staff on my cardigan in the beginning so kind of ruined my entire start to the experience. I was offered a dry clean and the wine was taken off my bill. (The cardigan however wasn't dry, I had to take a wet cardigan back home) I was expecting a more generous compensation. It also took a while for them to come to the decision on how to manage this crisis. - Finally, the ambience although looks gorgeous was still very hot. I was expecting some level of air conditioning for a 5 star hotel. This definitely made the entire experience uncomfortable.

   My friend and I had an amazing experience at the Sugar Loaf. We chose the vegan menu and it was beautiful. The only disappointment was that no vegan butter was available for the scones, given that this had been pre-booked I can’t help but feel this was a major fail and I can’t give 5 stars for the food

   After waiting 10 minutes to be seated, we then waited another 15 minutes before deciding to go to the bar to order our own drinks. Once these drinks were finished, we had to ask for the glasses to be removed from the table, which was some 2.5 hours later. Also had to ask for fresh plates after the sandwiches. When the shift change was made, at circa 5pm, the service improved massively Overall, the food was great, but the experience was ruined by the initial poor service

   Fabulous location. Table setting excellent. Variety of afternoon savories and sweets were excellent, very fresh and tasty. Bucket chairs require cushion to be comfortable. Servers attentive. Birthday plate arrived, nice touch. Surprisingly this time the servers were not assigned tables, so the experience did not live up to the previous time when we felt like very special guests. Also when I pointed out a chipped plate, rather than replace immediately, I was left with it - not what I would expect of 5*establishment. Piano music whilst nice was too intrusive (loud).

   Wedding anniversary. Sandwich plate came firstly there was a hair in my salmon sandwich which was brought back the salmon sandwich only . I was finished my three sandwiches before the single salmon sandwich return on a plate . Surroundings very busy a lot of children wandering about and looking out the windows were you are seated for afternoon tea. While we were seated a family actually stood beside our table to look out and view the grounds! Not very intimate . Disappointed with the are for afternoon tea. The couple sitting next to my table were not having afternoon tea they ordered drinks , which I personally would of thought the area should have been solely for afternoon tea !

    Really beautiful location, and so lovely to have a formal afternoon tea in British style! The staff catered to vegetarians, and brought a beautiful assortment of delicious food for our family. It was a really fun experience to dress up, sit in a stylish location and sip some delicious local tea! I would just caution that afternoon tea is quite different than what you may be used to seeing in the US -- food does not come out at once but is brought over in tiers (I'm sure this is something to do with the etiquette), and if you're used to being able to request more of one food, that is not the case with afternoon tea. :)

    The afternoon tea experience with my friend was nice. Its a lovely setting, very helpful staff, nice ambience, sandwiches, scones and desserts were nice but it was let down by the how slow it took a fresh pot of tea / coffee to come out. We waited quite awhile for tea / coffee to arrive, we reminded staff twice and were told it was taking longer due to them being short staffed. A pity as its not what we expected for a 5 star establishment.

    Beautiful setting but service not great and pianist played a little loud and sombre for the area. Food was OK but sandwiches not very inspiring...cucumber, salmon and cajun chicken. Could have been presented better than on a plate. Not sure why they were served separate from the desserts. We had to continually ask for refill and water from the staff. No baby changing facilities on this floor. Would not book again for the price.

    Very familiar with the Hotel over many years. This time however was very unhappy. Left waiting ages for our table even though it was reserved. Piano music far to loud. Overall quality of food very bad, no wow factor anymore. We were served sandwiches on their own at the start with no tea...... and had to ask for it. Great shame as we've always enjoyed Afternoon tea in the Powerscourt hotel.

    When we went in it was quiet and we got a lovely table by the window, we were given our menus and left to make our choices, we then gave our order and our food came out however it took nearly 45 minutes before we got our tea which meant we were nearly finished our sandwiches (the bread was stale) and the service did not improve at all. It is a bit over priced and where other places will offer you more there was no offer made at all. Overall this was a very disappointing experience that I would not recommend and the best thing about it was the view out the window.

    The food was lovely,the atmosphere was relaxed. We were not rushed or stuck to a time limit which has happened at other similarly priced places. Staff were attentive and polite without being overbearing.

    The food quality was slightly disappointing as not as good as expected for the price. Service was generally slow and we were waiting for at least 30 mins before being served any food. Cocktails were also underwhelming for the price.

    There was building works going on in the same lounge so the drilling was quite loud. We arrived at 1:45 and were told the builders were going to take a break T 2pm but that didn’t happen till nearly half two. When our afternoon tea arrived, we found a hair in the sandwiches so they replaced them. The sandwiches in general were quite poor. The bread was stale on all, very dry. The scones were fresh and warm. And the cakes were nice also. Service was ok. Slow to get our teas refreshed. To be fair I would have expected a lot more from the hotel as in expectations

    Definitely a must afternoon tea, the experience is amazing and such lovely views. They also brought out a happy birthday plate for my mother, very attentive staff. Beautiful piano player also that isn’t loud just the perfect noise level. So cosy.

    We went for afternoon tea during the week, the food was great and there is an extended list of teas that you can choose from. The room has large windows and the view is beautiful. Also the service was excellent.

    Fantastic venue, beautiful surroundings. Brings you back in history. Excellent service, fast and attentive. Wonderful that you get to try as many teas as you like. Pastries and scones were fantastic. Sandwiches somewhat bland and a bit dry. Other than that a really nice experience. We will be back.

    The setting is spectacular, the food was nice but the service let us down ( as on previous occasions). Extremely young , inexperienced staff who seemed totally overwhelmed with a full service. We waited 45 mins for our afternoon tea as they must have forgotten the order , a few times they tried to bring us teas or drinks that were for a different table - utter chaos. Would still go back just for the setting.

    Was nice for something different and the hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. However I felt the afternoon tea was overpriced for what you got which is mainly sweet things and very little savoury.I have been to afternoon teas elsewhere for cheaper and with more variety...

    I've had a chance to been to other afternoon teas in other Hotels, and the staff goes beyond their role. Another thing noticed, in previous afternoon teas in other hotels, the staff drops a few more scones into the little box to bring home, which is a lovely touch.

    Afternoon tea here is a lovely treat. The Christmas ambience is lovely (the snow outside certainly helped). The staff are very friendly and professional. There is plenty of lovely treats in the afternoon tea-you certainly won’t need dinner. It was all lovely. Thankyou!

    We had Festive afternoon tea, a wonderful experience, the lounge and lobby was beautifully decorated and the quality of food outstanding. We made some special requests which were looked after without problem. What's more we had a view of a snowy Sugarloag, bliss. We will be back
