The view is gorgeous and very relaxing and the staff are lovely. On this occasion we had the afternoon tea and I felt the food was very little and I left feeling hungry. However, that being said, I have eaten there many times before, ordering off the main menu and the food is always good and satisfying when I did that. In future I will just order off the main menu instead.

The waterside is a lovely beachside hotel, just outside Dublin the food is excellent, but on a good sunny day their afternoon tea is especially lovely with ocean view, outside seating area
A nice area inside for cooler days would be a great improvement to this lovely hotel, but overall a lovely afternoon out.

I went for afternoon tea at the Waterside and could not fault it. Extremley good value for money and service. We could not finish all the food between the three of us. Would definately go again in the summer time when view is a bit better

When we arrived they had no record of our booking, they then proceeded to set the table omitting some of the cutlery, the cups were stained and the afternoon tea was awful. Two scones between four people, sandwiches were not sandwiches but small round pieces of toast with stale toppings. Totally disappointing.

Lovely sea side setting, well-chosen selection of fresh tasty food, both savoury and sweet, good service & atmosphere.

Brought my daughter to afternoon tea for a birthday treat. We were sent to the bar area that was noisy and full of children ordering cheeseburgers.
The table cloth was filthy. It was the only table with a table cloth.
We were positioned beside the window, which was also dirty.
The view is of the beautiful sea in north county Dublin. But the ambience just didn't fit afternoon tea.
It would have been better in a smaller tea room overlooking the sea.
It cost €18 which was excellent value.
The food was nice. Mini sandwiches were fine. Small scones, butter biscuits and fancy little cakes on the top tier of the stand.
I'd probably return with a child but it's not a fine dining afternoon tea experience like the Merrion or the Shelbourne hotels that I'd go to with friends.
The view was the best bit.
The staff kept asking if I had a voucher, which I didn't. Then they were asking if I'd paid....a bit unprofessional.

Food for afternoon tea was disappointing. Too much sweet and not enough savoury. Service was very good. Lovely views and we were well seated at patio window. A review of food offering is needed.

I recieved a voucher for my birthday for afternoon tea. Was easy to book on your website but i was glad i rang aswel as the booking wasnt in the book. I had recieved the confirmation from opentable but the hotel never recieved it.. Big issue there i felt. We were a bit disappointed with it as compared to the other afternoon teas we have enjoyed in the past in other hotels. OK for gluten free options but would prefer soda bread instead of damp soggy ham sandwiches and tiny scones. The lovely lady in the bar had no help from other staff so service suffered. The deserts were quite nice as was the view. But that all the positive things I could say about it. Would go there again to park the car to go for a go for a walk along the coast.. However the experience wasnt the worst..
