The restaurant recently moved from Mespil Road to Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, the capital's cultural quarter. Stunning restaurant, a slice of Italy in a quiet corner of Temple Bar The decor & ambience are delightful, and the staff are always welcoming, efficient & courteous. Highly recommend for all occasions.

This is a lovely place in an historic cellar with vaulted brick ceilings. The staff are warm and welcoming. The wine list is impressive. We shared a very pleasant Chianti. The food was cooked to perfection and the tiramisu was delish!

Had a lovely meal last night. We were going for the Early bird before 6.30 which us excellent value. My 2 friends were late but the manager said that was fine ,& we could still have the early bird menu. Place itself was really warm , welcoming & the staff were lovely. I have eaten there a few times & would alaays recommend it.

First time at Al Vesuvio, handy as near the IFI Institute. Staff extremely warm & friendly. Beautiful restaurant that was once a wine cellar which is lovely but can seem quite loud because of low ceiling. We ordered Carpaccio to start which was nice but not a lot of flavour, had to add salt & pepper. A little olive oil would probably have set it off. Main courses were Pasta with prawns and Saltimbocca with Mushrooms. I didn't taste the pasta but my Saltimbocca was lovely. Thinks mushrooms had truffle oil on them which was a bit heavy. House wine was gorgeous. Prices a little but pricey for Italian food. All in all, lovely place, needs a bit of tweaking. Would go back.

Al Vesuvio is the sort of funky little underground Italian restaurant that you'll want to go back to and tell friends about. Situated in an old wine cellar with vaulted brick ceilings the menu includes a selection of excellent pasta dishes, classic Italian meat and seafood recipes and a great range of pizzas. Combined with the wine, desserts and excellent service this would be enough - but it also is a place where you can get relatively good prices - especially for Temple Bar.

Lovely restaurant and food amazing. Just one issue was que outside even with reservation. Not a problem but mismanaged and people skipping and bullying staff so they could get in before others. I was with one and 4 other separate couples including us were quiet and respectful. Others made it uncomfortable in their own self importance

I went for a birthday dinner with my friends, table of 8. Even though the place was full, staff was amazing at all times. Staff was very polite, cheerful and pleasant with all of us. Food was delicious, would recommend their risotto. The place looks very cozy and rustic at the same tim. Again, highlight of the night were the staff. Congrats guys

My son accidentally knocked his orange drink over his pizza. The waiter took it away and poured the orange of the plate and gave him the cold wet soggy pizza back and said there's your pizza it might taste like orange. I asked for another pizza for my son stating I would pay for another. I was charged for the pizza twice which I thought was a bit disappointing considering it was only a child's pizza and I was paying over €70 for 2 kids meals and a pasta dish. I thought even charging me half price for the second pizza would have been a nice gesture.

After 5 years I come back to celebrate my birthday. It was just amazing! Can't complain about nothing. Food was delicious, ambient just perfect warm and cosy. You can feel that everything is fresh made. Since you open the door you get that "home" smell. Guys was brilliant and make my dinner very special. Thank you everyone!

We got a last minute reservation, trying to find a restaurant that wasn’t incredibly noisy. The restaurant is in an 18th century wine merchant’s cellar, so super lovely atmosphere. The service was a little slow to start but we were in no hurry and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was fantastic. One of the best pizzas I have had in a very long time! My husband started with the carpaccio appetizer and said it was delicious then he had a seafood pasta dinner that he thoroughly enjoyed. Very good amount of seafood in the dish. I had the caprese to start, excellent mozzarella!! Very high marks to Al Vesuvio !!!!!! Would definitely go again!

An authentic Italian dining experience in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar. We found authentic Italian food, fresh pasta and a real Italian ambiance here. This is not one of those Italian style chains that make generic pasta and pizza. This a real Italian restaurant with authentic pasta and wine. It is small, so booking ahead is critical. A great experience overall.
