   Just a tad disappointed that I didn't have an option to tip the waitress because they automatically add 10% to your bill to which I strongly don't agree with. It should be at the customers discretion whether to tip the waitress or not and it should 100% be up to the customer of how much, if any, is left for a tip. You can't have a quiet meal for 2 here because the bar side of the restaurant is very noisy and there was a fight last night with a young lad who obviously had too many beers. Fair play to security for sorting it straight away. It's my 3rd visit to Albert's since it opened and I can honestly say that the last 2 visits were a lot quieter and certainly less tenser as it was last night. I was shocked how I managed to book a table on a Saturday at 1945hrs so fast because usually you have to book a month in advance and if last nights experience was anything to go by, then that is the reason why it is becoming less popular for the older couples yet more popular for the rowdy drunken teenagers/early twenty year olds. Such a shame because Albert's is stunning and the staff can't do enough for you but to be honest you need to sort the rowdy drunks out because people like myself will not tolerate it and will start looking elsewhere for a meal.

   First time diners. Lovely weather so outside was busy and a steady flow of drinkers into the almost separate bar area. Quite noisy and one drunk removed by security. In the restaurant service was perfect and the food superb. Not bad value either, considering the sense of class the restaurant gave out. We will be returning soon, with friends. P.s. The Lancashire cheese and onion pie -delicious

   Enjoyed the food and experience. Food interesting, a little bit different. Excellent service. Good value, had gone for the inclusive 2 course menu, but ended up eating from the a la carte menu, lots of choice.

   My wife was given a dirty glass for her drink, we did not have a choice of table , the table we sat at had to be levelled up as it was rocking about. I also witnessed one of the chefs taking a chip and eating it off a meal that was on the serving counter waiting to be served to a customer.

    The waitress who served us was absolutely lovely. She made us feel very accommodated! The food was also amazing! The lunch time menu was really good value for money with me being able to get a three course meal for just over £18! It was great!

    Alberts never disappoints from the welcome to thoughtout our stay. Thank you to Alex our server, Gary with prompt delivery of our drinks and Kate who served our sweets. Still need to make it early enough to experience the set menu and like the new system of the gratuity being added to the bill- see you soon.

    Poor experience. Having frequently dined here in the past the standard of food and customer service was disappointing. Our waitress was exceptional but the attitude of senior staff was appalling. After eating here we were unwell through the night. We would not recommend dining here.

    Went for lunch yesterday. James was our server and he was very friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, we had the 2 course menu which was good value for money. Would definitely go back and highly recommend a visit.

    On our visit, on Bank Holiday Monday, the service was a little slow, but the place was busy, so fair enough! A little too noisy for my taste and the air-conditioning caused an unwelcome draught. My own menu choice and those of our dining friends was good, my wife's not so good. Excellent Chenin Blanc wine! I dislike the 10% "discretionary service charge" mode. If it's discretionary it should not be added into the total payable. I accept though, with some degree of regret - that this is becoming increasingly common in the hospitality industry.

    We are regulars at Wigan Alberts and book every month. The staff are very welcoming and the price is right. Two courses for £14 pounds is great value and the ambience is another feature of this restaurant. It was a full house on Bank holiday Monday, so it pays to book. A great day had by all !!

    Good food and service, especially on a bank holiday weekend. Noise levels too high in bar area which is next to restaurant so maybe need to review letting big groups of people in, ruins the experience if you are having a meal. Shame the added service charge doesn't go to the waitresses and waiters. I'll avoid paying in future.

    Food arrived luke warm despite only ordering 5minutes or so prior which leads me to think the fish n chips and Sunday Roast was pre-cooked and waiting to be served. Served wine with sediment im too at £8 a glass. Alberts is starting to feel style over substance, be a while before we go back

    Second time I have eaten here and it didn't disappoint. Food was excellent, service was superb and the atmosphere was great. A live DJ was also playing and that made the feel of the place even better.

    It’s not our first time having lunch here, but this time they gave a big dissapointment, I’ve decided to take mum’s in law for a nice day out as she just finishrd her last chemo, we have booked in advance via open table and requested table outside . A day later we have a reply saying that outside is for walk in, and we can request to hostess for table outside. so when we get there we said we’d like to sit outside, so the hostess took us the table for 3. Then I said ,’could we have that table please (which is the booth type of table) and she said you cant take that table as those are for at least 5 persons. So a i look around and there were 2 people and 3 people were sitting in same type of seatings that I requested , so i went back to speak to the hostess and she said you are late for 20 mins and those seatings are all reserved, bare in mind these are outside seating area where the email said for ‘Walk in’ , and not for booking! so I thought that was a bit rude , as they were at least 5 empty tables. So i thought i am not going to ruin the day as my mum in law has been looking forward for this day. The food were nice the waitress was lovely but the hostess was rude. As we are leaving , the table that she said only for at least 5 people were filled by 3 people!! And 3 other tables were remain empty. Big dissapointment as we felt that we were being unfairly treated by the hostess.

    What can I say? Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Alex looked after us and the staff made us feel special They even helped me prepare to ask my fiancée to marry me.. it was a yes!!!! We’ll be back!!!!

    The restaurant has a very good ambience and the staff were very professional and helpful. The food was excellent and our friends who had never been before thought the whole experience was delightful and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. Just one thing I missed was the starter of mini pie and peas which used to be on the menu but that was a long time ago so just a minor thing I missed.

    The restaurant is very nice we eat on the terrace the service would very good I’m not a fussy eater there was plenty of meals for me. My wife and sister found it difficult to find a more simple meal they both had fish and chips although I think they could of had the chicken with mascarpone and mushrooms we will return

    Great vegan menu, liked the fact some thought had been put in to it. The food was delicious. Our pizza was a little underdone but still really tasty and my curry could of done with being a bit hotter, temperature wise but again really enjoyed it. Fantastic service.

    Our visit to Alberts was outstanding in every way apart from the music which was far too loud for comfort. It was Sunday and there was a live singer. The food was delicious and our waiter Thomas was a joy. He was attentive, friendly and efficient. Altogether a very enjoyable experience (apart from the music)
