Alfies Ratings and Reviews
I ate here on Sunday. I'm a coeliac so I had a look at the website which said there were coeliac options available. I ordered a starter which was fine and asked if I could get a burger for a main. The burger came out with chips which to pointed out to the waitress. She removed th chips and asked did I want vegetables. I said no because I don't want a plate of vegetables. I then had a piece of meat with bacon and cheese and a few pieces of lettuce which was fairly disappointing. For dessert I asked about the chocolate Sunday minus the brownie pieces. I was brough out a bowl of plain ice-cream. When I paid I was charged full price for an absolute joke of a meal. You should not be advertising that you have coeliac options available if your wait staff haven't a clue what it is and you haven't really any main meal / dessert options available. I'm annoyed at myself for not mentioning it and actually paying full price. Defiantly will not return.
Service was one of the worst we had ever experienced. I work in the catering industry and the staff member who served our table would not last a day in our company. We purposely went to Dublin to go to Alfies as we had been there two years ago and it was fantastic. Serious disappointment this time. 1 out of 10 for service
Brought my daughter here for 18th birthday lunch, Just the two of us. Very poor service. Had to ask over and over where drinks where. Only ordered two drinks as they took so long 20 to 30 minutes. Also condiments not brought out had to ask for salt pepper mayo ketchup. Was very frustrating. Was hard to get staffs attention.
We booked Alfies for my best friends hen night after myself and my partner had drinks there at new year and thought it was a lovely bar. We reserved a booth in the bar area first for some lush cocktails then had a meal upstairs in the restaurant area, there was 11 of us. The food was amazing absolutely fantastic, service was great, all the food came out together, the staff couldn't do enough for you it was exceptional service, nobody had any complaints. The food and drinks are great value we had a number of bottles of wine and the price was reasonable compared to many places in Dublin City centre. Would highly recommend Alfie's and will definitely visit again get when in Dublin.
Food was grand and the waitress was nice however there was quite a delay on my friends potatoes which came 30 mins after the rest of her food. We also had the after work option and found that by the time the starter was finished the rest of the food had gone cold.
We had a celebratory lunch in Alfies for 9 people, the waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The food was really high quality and great value especially with the Lunchbox deal. We all also enjoyed some of Alfies cocktails which were very impressive, taste and presentation. My friends and I often visit Alfies and has certainly become a favourite of ours, I would highly recommend visiting whether it's for a casual lunch, anniversary dinner or just evening drinks with friends!
