Angelina's Ratings and Reviews
Booked table for 9.30 however waiter/manager rushed order as kitchen was closing. Felt not welcomed as last table in and not a very busy night! Ordered steak and was served cold on top of starter dishes. Waiter brought a second bottle of wine the table but never asked for it then got frustrated when we returned the final bill and asked for adjusting. Rats on the terrace also which was not the greatest view we expected from such a place.
I chose Angelina's because of a lovin dublin review that mentioned crab benedict so was very disappointed that it was not on the brunch menu. I chose chorizo with beans black pudding and egg instead and that was ok. The chorizo could have been cut smaller as it was in very large pieces. I also had a juice which was nice. I do think€16.50 is a bit excessive though. Great terrace overlooking the canal
Excellent experience. Had been before and wasn't thrilled but this time the food was great. Oysters were the best I've had in a long time, obviously that is down to freshness but still, restaurant can take credit for serving them so fresh. Lamb pizza was extraordinarily good. Service a little bit on slow side in my view as resto wasn't that busy but still, small complaint to an otherwise great evening
The atmosphere was cheerful, though noise levels were high, suggesting that acoustics might be checked. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was good, except perhaps that the sorbet helping was too large, tending towards the gross (though the sorbet itself was excellent).
Great space very comfortable and welcoming, well managed operation with good service from well trained people. The food offering for Brunch is quite simple but well executed with good quality ingredients and nice presentation. Must go back to try those delicious looking pancakes and french toast I was coveting on the next table.
This place was lovely. Great atmosphere and a great view over the canal. The service was great and I liked the place. The food was very tasty and my wife's food was delicious. The portions were extremely small and very expemsive, for such small portions. After a starter main and side i left hungry. Overall a very nice place to be, food was delicious and very tasty. Very expensive for such small portions.
I'm turning brunch into an annual event with family to celebrate my birthday and as always Angelina's came up trumps! Delicious food, friendly staff and a lovely setting. My only criticism is the size of the portions which even hungry teenage boys can't finish and I hate seeing good food go to waste. Lovely celebration.
We booked dinner for my birthday where I was dining with my Mum and 4 of my best friends. 2 were pregnant and one is a veggie. There was a delicious and varied menu that meant that everyone was able to have a lovely meal. The sharing plates at the start were the perfect size and each of our mains was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Service and atmosphere were excellent. If you want really great food in a cool, contemporary and laid back setting, Angelina's is the right place.
Guy at reception who brought us to our seat was grumpy, not the warmest of welcomes, I made some light banter and no response. Menu was good and varied, wait staff were more pleasing than guy at reception. Food arrived quickly, tasty. Great strong coffee that we ordered another each
Booked for brunch on Saturday. Asked for a table outside.
Staff very helpful when I asked if they could turn the heaters on.
Great food, served really quickly.
Best pancakes I think I've had.
Also got the avocado sourdough with smoked salmon and poached eggs. Really nice, perfectly cooked eggs (cooked whites and runny yolk).
Soy milk available with coffee.
Great view over the canal.
Highly recommend for brunch menu !
Had a wonderful evening at Angelinas. Service was excellent. The girl that looked after us was very attentive and very pleasant. The food was pretty delicious and presentation was very good. Great selection and choice of food on the menu. Something to suit all tastes. I can recommend this restaurant and I will be back.
We were rushed out the door when we only arrived. Had pre booked a table for brunch and were told we would have to leave after an hour because they had another booking. They were rushing to take our orders and clean up to hurry us up which was unprofessional. I understand they are busy- but we are paying customers and shouldn't have to rush our meal. Also the French toast was basically just bread with maple syrup.. The cocktails were nice though. I wouldn't come back.
Food was excellent. Our waiter was good but noncommittal on recommendations. The server who brought the food was the only sore spot. She was abrupt almost to the point of rudeness. Other than her, this was a good dining experience in an Dublin neighborhood.
Angelina's: Expensive and obtuse, but whatever they bring to your table tastes pretty good.
They forgot to bring out part of our order, and we never ended up getting it. The food that we did receive however, tasted pretty decent. But what good is only half of the brunch you ordered?
The staff were not attentive and didn't seem to care where our food went.
My wife and I each ordered the pancakes for brunch, with a side of bacon. I wanted to put in a coffee order as well, and hopefully have a couple of cocktails.
Someone came around and dropped off our pancakes and left in a rush, but that was it. No one ever came to check on us.
We called over multiple wait staff to ask when our bacon was coming, as our server had disappeared (and it had been 10 full minutes of waiting; our pancakes were cold now). They all said "we'll make sure it comes right to you", to no avail.
Finally, when we gave up and asked for the bill, our original server came around and said "Oh, there's no bacon? I'll go tell them to make some now." We ended up getting her to remove it from our bill. But the bad service wasn't over.
My wife wanted to pay for the meal. After waiting 10-15 minutes for the server to return with a machine (at this point the restaurant wasn't really busy anymore), the server handed me the bill. However, my wife pulled out her card and popped it in the machine, only for our server to hand the machine back to me. After I gave it to my wife to key in her digits, our server handed my wife's card and receipt back to me. She paid no attention to my wife whatsoever.
She was clearly clueless as she delivered the wrong drinks to the table next to us as well. She wasn't apologetic, and seemed to have the "oh well, I don't care" attitude.
We've been to Angelina's once, and gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time. There won't be a next time.
The service was absolutely appalling. The waitress smashed a glass right beside where we were sitting and did not clean the glass up properly. I had to call her over to the table twice to take glass particles away. She did not even change our water glasses and was very unapologetic.
Her manner was very abrasive and she was far from friendly.
For an expensive lunch, I was highly unimpressed.
On arrival we were given a table directly at the front door so we asked to change if possible. We were told by the host that the restaurant was fully booked up and that wouldn't be possible ( even thought we'd booked our table too ). We also asked our waitress For a change of table too who replied with a very cheeky response.
Throughout the night however there were plenty of tables that were designed to fit a minimum of 4 people comfortably that weren't used at any stage during the night.
We then noticed a walk in table of 4 came in who were seated at a much nicer table then us, in the main area of the restaurant.
By the time we noticed this and all the free tables , we had already received our food so decided to leave it.
We all ordered pizza which was fine. None were exceptionally nice by any means and two of the girls found the bases to be quite burnt and hard.
A shame to have this type of experience as we'd heard such great things about the place. Would be very reluctant to return.
When we arrived, I told the host we had a dinner reservation for two. Oddly, he bluntly responded "we don't make reservations for the bar." I nicely repeated myself, and without apology he brought us to our table. The atmosphere and decor are lovely, the food is okay, but the prices are simply too high. I might give it another try but wasn't overly impressed.
