The quality of food was good, unfortunately the staff needs more training. There were multiple problems with service. A wrong appetizer was served and the bread arrived after the main course was served. On the topic of bread, they should find another bread baker. Disappointing.

My wife and I spent our last night in the city dining in Aureole, and what a fantastic experience it was. The food was amazing, the staff were attentive and friendly. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone

I told the waitress that I had a gluten allergy and i expected her to let me know what items on the menu would be gluten free but she did not at all.

Lovely meal- the waitstaff was wearing so much cologne that I honestly could not alway taste my food, and at times felt very rushed by other waitstaff; bartenders were lovely.

From the amuse bouche to the wine to the appetizer, entree, and cheese selections, this by far, is the best restaurant in town right now. Everything was exquisitely prepared, and a party for the palate. Great service, beautiful ambiance, and delectable food . . . what more can I say?

I’ve eaten here many times. The food is excellent, but the service during my recent visit was sub par. We sat for 30 minutes before a server approached. Again, food is superb, but it is not for a quick lunch

Very attentive and professional service. Food was of a high standard. Wine list (particularly the whites) very heavily skewed to French and Californian offerings.

I have been to Aureole for pre-theater dinner three times in the last six months. The first two visits were excellent - fabulous food, terrific service, a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, last Thursday’s experience was poor. One of the appetizers, the soup, was outstanding. The tomatoes were so-so. The real problem was we waited 40 minutes for our short rib entrees despite following up repeatedly with our server. The entrees were tasty, but cold. One of the desserts arrived but the rice pudding did not. Again another wait. When it arrived, it was only so-so. Bottom line, it was embarrassing.

We had the 3 course dinner before going to the theater. There are 2 savory courses and one sweet course. The restaurant is beautiful and the service impeccable. The dinner was timed perfectly to get to the performance on time. Highly recommended.

We went with friends and my 9-year old daughter. The menu offered complicated alternatives and none of the plates we chose were delicious or what we expected.
Service was very slow and the waiter had no patience or time for a 9-year old. So not a place to bring the family.
Wouldn't recommend it.

We dined at this restaurant when it was in the townhouse on the upper Eastside. The food and service was terrific back then. We were very disappointed this time. The food just was not good and the waiters were awkward. We don’t mind paying a lot of money for really good food but when the bill came we were in shell shock because I just didn’t live up to its past. Foie gras did not have a good consistency, and the toast points that went with it were lackluster. My salmon was good though. The desserts were not even tasty. We were really disappointed

Ate after the theater rush on a Friday night, so we got extremely quick service as everyone else cleared out for their shows. Next to us, a table did complain about how long their food was taking, but the manager handled it very well, giving much of their meal for free and giving them his card.

Service was quick, but... awkward. There were too many people coming over to our table so it was a bit unclear who our actual server was. Our server sometimes popped in a bit abruptly, interrupting conversation. Also, the first time he came to the table, he dropped off the drink list, and then asked, "Can I start you with drinks?" ... We haven't gotten a chance to look at the list??? Weird.

Food was generally very good, my smoked salmon starter was delicious, my venison main course was good but the mushrooms with it didn't seem to work with the rest. Squash soup and chicken entree were also 4/5 stars.

Also, ordered a Manhattan (my go to drink), and it tasted off, maybe too much vermouth? You're a bartender in Manhattan and you haven't mastered one of the most basic cocktail recipes, coincidentally named after your city? Come on

One of the best.

Superior quality food and excellent service without being stuffy.

I was in the dining room, very quiet and luxurious. Perfect for quiet conversation.

Nice wine list, from basics to well, impressive. Good selection of French reds.

Carbonara was rich and creamy. Short ribs tender and flavorful I like the pairing with the polenta.

Imaginative and delicious chocolate dessert.

Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back. The specialty cocktails were quite nice - I tried the two recommended by our server and both were really good. I especially liked the rum one with lime and celery. The lobster bisque dumplings wee amazing.

Walking into Aureole is a beautiful experience: it is tastefully decorated, quiet, and impressive for clients. However, I previously had a bad experience with the main course taking 1 1/2 hours to appear, so when I booked, I told the staff that we needed to be out in an hour. When we arrived at Aureole, the host announced loudly, in front of my guests, "So, you need to be out in an hour. We'll see what we can do." This was quite embarrassing, and I had to explain to my guests that in the past, my guest had to leave just after her food arrived (1 1/2 hours after ordering) to get to her next appointment. Despite the request, it still took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The food was delicious, but by the time the plates were cleared and the coffee served, and then I got the check, we spent nearly two hours at the restaurant. Maybe in the days of "Mad Men" and 2-martini lunches, working people could take 2-hour lunches -- but not in today's fast-paced workday. The waitress seemed apologetic, so I suspect the problem is with the kitchen. Nonetheless, and despite the pretty setting and delicious food, I would be reluctant to return to Aureole ... at least until I retire!

We went to Aureole for a pre-theatre meal. Overall it was a very good experience. The wait staff was outstanding, very attentive - and I particularly liked that they paced our meal with the time that we needed to leave for the theatre.

With respect to the food, it was very good, but not exceptional. That is the reason for the 4-star rating overall and the 3-star on value. The entrees of duck and venison were well cooked, but not particularly flavorful. The best of the evening was the dessert; an apple tarte tatin.

Would have expected just a touch more on the food for the price.

We had dinner before attending a play. Reservation was for 530pm for an 8pm play. We initially thought that was too early but we took our time and left at 730pm. The service was extremely attentive and professional. The food was very good. Some comments: The truffle risotto was delicious but the rice should have been cooked for a few minutes more. The Wagyu cheeks melted in my mouth. The desserts were very good. The portions are average for a restaurant like this. We left satisfied. We would try this restaurant again

Food was good, but amazing - not for the price we paid. The best thing was the truffle risotto app, which was 2x more expensive than our main course.

Ambiance was nice, quiet in back room- I did joke it looked like I was at a convention hall at a Marriott.

Drinks were good.

Very close to Broadway theaters but unlike many restaurants in the are it is not crammed with tables. It feels very open and light. I will definitely go back. I have salmon that was prepared beautifully. There is a very extensive, well-priced wine list. Very enjoyable!
