Babbo never disappoints! The Tonnarelli with black truffles is a must.
This is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant. The food is fabulous. Lots of choice, and all of them are wonderful prepared with the best ingredients. Excellent sommelier. We loved the whole experience. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ We will be back as soon as possible !
Took 45 mins to seat us after our reservation time in a very tightly packed space. Probably a high quality establishment but I have yet to experience it to the fullest. Food was pretty good but not stellar. The actual waiters were very professional but overall service was more than lacking given the price.
Food was simply amazing ... service is not aligned with the check ... lower level place have better service but the quality of food and taste of it make this a second aspect .
Overall was a great dinner but again service need to improve way more
Excellent food - well prepared and presented - a bit pricey but it is NYC!
I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Everything was fantastic including the food, the service, and the ambiance, but the one thing that is often overlooked but that we really appreciated was the size of the table. All too often two person tables leave very little room for drinks, plates, silverware, and candles to fit comfortably, causing a shuffle of items throughout the entire meal which is a pain. The two person tables here offered amble room for everything which added to the experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
The wine list is amazing! Restaurant interior is classy. Great Italian food, but in NYC there are so many wonderful Italian restaurants, too. High standard to be met in this food category.
Babbo has been one of my favorites in the Village for years. We came for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was wonderful, as always, but the service was really off. Everyone there seemed exhausted and irritated and wanting to get their shift over with. Disappointing at best.
Very good pasta.
Love this restaurant. I go every time I am in NYC and it does not disappoint. I love everything but the octopus is the best!!!
Cockles in spicy red broth reminded us of our favorite restaurant in Venice!
We told the waiter that one main course was too salty...only suggesting that he tell the chef. They took it off the bill! Very classy. We look forward to returning.
Nice food, nice service. Great cocktail and wine suggestions.
A few things easy things to work on, the seats felt worn out and pretty uncomfortable. And no dairy alternative for coffee felt a little behind the times...haven’t experienced that for a long time. They over charged us for a drink but promised to reimburse us.
Nothing is perfect but they got the hardest part right which is the food.
Babbo never disappoints. The ambiance and mood set the stage for an unforgettable journey for your taste buds. You can taste every ingredient and the food shines. The service is impeccable and everyone is served at the same time. James the waiter is awesome and the staff knows the menu inside out. My favorite restaurant hands down for over 20 years. Can't wait to go back!
Top class service and exceptional food at Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca for Valentine's Day! Every dish was excellent and every staff member we interacted with brought the highest level of service from the small stuff to the big. Grilled octopus, cavetelli, branzino, lamb chops, Olive oil cake/gelato.
I have been coming here on occasion for over 10 years and the quality has not diminished in the least, always an enjoyable experience
Our casual Saturday afternoon lunch at Babbo was everything we have come to expect of this outstanding dining spot. We were greeted warmly including a welcome from the Sommelier who recalled our wine selection and conversation from our prior visit several months earlier! The winter menu was lovely with many savory options including a truffle tasting menu (which we passed on) and the pasta tasting menu which we have had previously and loved. The grilled quail was excellent as was the buffala appetizer. We stuck with simple pasta dishes for lunch paired with a lovely northern Italian white (Le Due Terre) that opened up beautifully as the meal progressed. A glass of Brachetto and some biscotti and we left completely satisfied. After many years Babbo continues to deliver refined Italian dining at the highest level. Just terrific.
Wonderful visit. Creative and tasty dishes you will not be disappointed. We ordered grilled octopus which was fabulous as were the pasta dishes. Looking forward to a return visit.
I love Babbo. It has an old school ambience with excellent service. Thus time I ordered the Sphagettini with one pound lobster but I was not impressed because it just tasted like a typical tomato sauce sphagetti. I would probably try Gargenelle next time because it’s one of the specialty there.
Great wine list and good Italian food.
Noisy, The flavor of the food needs a A lift, kind of bland, overrated
Amazing food and service. Would recommend to anyone.
Expectations were high for what is supposed to be one of the best Italian restaurants in New York. High notes: nice dining room, great service. Low notes: I make a better amatriciana....watery sauce. Average steak, average branzino, the wild boar sauce was mostly tomato. The food lacks in originality, attention to detail is poor.
Good food good music
My sons birthday age 28
The food is fantastic. The noise level has increased over the years and I wish it were quieter. The loud music seems quite unnecessary. The service is lovely too. It is an excellent restaurant.
Always a pleasure. While almost 40, Babbo remains a top spot despite the departure its notorious chef. Service remains is very good to excellent. Seen so many new faces over the years San maître d’ who is a master.
Always incredible food and the service is very attentive and friendly. Definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion. I had the Pappradelle bolognese and the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection as always!
Expected much better from top chef owned restaurant. Food was good but didn’t wow.
Excellent food and service. Five stars
That was my husband's big birthday dinner. We all were from out of town and was late a little bit for our reservation time. But they handle everything so elegantly, smoothly. It was a special occasion for us and it really was success.
We go to Babbo once a year and this time we enjoyed the pasta tasting menu with the vintage wine pairing. The pastas were unique and interesting and the wines were a caliber above what we usually enjoy. Thank you Babbo for your excellent service and outstanding food and wine!
“Everything we heard about this restaurant came to fruition; welcoming staff, warm environment, delicious and savory food, fortified wine list, meticulous table service and overall pleasurable experience.”
Impeccable service. Excellent food.
Excellent food and service. Noise level too loud
Good but Eh. Not as special as I thought.
One of my favorite NYC restaurants.
