Sadly, the noise in this place was deafening, we could hardly hear each other. The waiter was brilliant and tried his best to help but in the end I would describe this as a place for parties and not couples.
The food was fine, not remarkable but fine. Pasta was just a little overdone for my taste, unlikely it was home-made. The chocolate desert was very nice, although I've had better much better Gelato - again, I doubt if this was home made.
In summary they really try to make people feel welcome but the acoustics were such that it was just an incredibly noisy place - needs carpet and curtains perhaps to help with noise reduction. If I were with a group of friends instead of on a date, I'd probably be saying how fantastic it was.
We visited off peak so the restaurant was quiet but we could see that it was filling up fast approaching
dinner time. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, the decor is beautiful, and all of the food was delicious. The portions are generous but the food is never heavy. The only thing I would say is that while great care and attention has been put into the menu, it could be simplified as there seemed to be a confusing amount of choices. But I would highly recommend.
Lovely meal served by very pleasant staff. Good value for money.
Second time at Bar Italia, both for family birthdays- again the service and food were phenomenal! Loved the lobster ravioli last time and the seafood spaghetti this time around was even more amazing. Everyone else got pizza again because they loved it before- perfect as always! The service makes the experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and goes out of their ways to make sure you're happy.
The wine is beautiful!
It was very warm outside- they kept the windows open for a nice breeze instead of using a stiffy AC unit. Love this place! Will be back for a date night :)
We always dine here when we go to Dublin. Its a little piece of Italy in Ireland. The food is authentic Italian cuisine
Great antipasti starter and food overall. Service excellent - really friendly. Will definitely return.
Their fresh pasta is amazing. One of the best Italian spots in Dublin. My wife asked for a variation of one of the dishes on their menu and the waiter was polite and friendly, the kitchen staff were accommodating. I always recommend this spot to anyone visiting from abroad.
Great options for all especially those with gluten allergy. And the pizza is amazing.
Exceptional staff, excellent value early bird, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere
Very nice restaurant- a little expensive but otherwise very good
Excellent staff. Decent food. Extremely noisy and cramped. Tables are squashed together. It was better before the refurbishment
Excellent food and service!! Good atmosphere and great venue!!
Food was excellent. Very authentic Italian food and wine and service was amazing!! Highly recommend and very close walk from Westin!!
Wonderful food and service! A great change from the never ending burgers or fish and chips. Huge wine selection, too.
Fantastic pizza and a great wine list for good value. Lovely atmosphere in a gorgeous setting.
We had a lovely evening, lovely food and lovely service!
It was my first visit for early meal on a busy Sat. I was very impressed with the service, attention and the atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was authentic Italian at the higher end of the scale. Will definitely go back.
Lovely authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of the city. Nice views of the Liffey if you're lucky to get a window seat. Fabulous food and excellent service. We never had to ask for more water, the jugs were watched and replaced when empty. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Extremely friendly service in a very lively ambience. Great selection of food and wines.
Food was great, place filled up. Service was not so great, even before it got busy they did not bring some ordered items without being asked where they were. As it got busy, the service got worse.
Loved the food, just not the service.
New menu ...just fantastic. Very authentic Italian. Fab service and lovely ambience to new lavout.
We visited as a family of 4 2 adults , 2 young children at lunchtime. We all had pizza and dessert and 2 glasses of wine. Food was excellent, full of flavour and carefully presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We also bought a bottle of the extra virgin olive oil that is used in the restaurant. We hope to return some time in the future.
The food had great flavor but should have been served hot. The risotto was delicious but barely warm. Wonderful atmosphere and nice wine list. Very busy place. I’d return.
Real Italien Food!! Grazie mille!!!
Lunch and Dinner, perfect!!
Excellent food and service, highly recommend Bar Italia
Bar Italia is one of our favorites, we love the food and atmosphere. On this occasion the service wasn’t up to its usual standard.
Great location near temple bar area
Fabulous food with excellent service and reasonable prices
Authentic Italian food with many choices
Bravo Bar Italia
The food was tasty but not something special. Tiramisu was far away from traditional recipe. I was very disappointed. The environment was pleasant. The service was very good.
Lovely food. Nicest pizza ever and the pasta was georgous
Food was superb . All staff should be proud of themselves . The friendliest and most welcoming restaurant in the city !!
Good for group. Affordable with good selection of Italian dishes.
Great food, service and wine selection
The food and service were excellent. The menu was not extensive, but there were plenty of wonderful sounding dishes from which to choose. We were seated downstairs, which was significantly quieter and less busy than the main dining/bar area at street level. One of the main benefits was that our server was very attentive and accommodated our requests. Yes, we'd recommend Bar Italia to friends (and even friends-to-be).
The food was absolutely outstanding! You would have no idea you were eating in the heart of Dublin, it felt as if we were in Italy. The burrata with prosciutto was to die for (make sure you get it with the focaccia!) There was an extensive wine list with reasonable prices, and the entrees were just as delicious as the appetizer, perfect after a long day of traveling. On top of this, the service was impeccable. The owner introduced himself to us and really made us feel welcome. He engaged in a very long conversation with my dad about wine and treated us to complementary aperitifs. It was the perfect end to our trip in Dublin. A relaxing dinner with great food and amazing service. Wish I could go back every night!
FAbulous authentic Italian food in a lovely setting with excellent service!
First time back after refurbishment. New look very goo and seating improved. Staff still very good and the food as good as ever.
Bit pricey but when you consider the quality of food, it makes it worthwhile. Lovely atmosphere, great location, tasty (but expensive) wine list.
Bar Italia is always consistently excellent- food, service and atmosphere. We have had some of our best family meals there.
Lovely food and wine. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Fantastic food, incredibly service and a very friendly atmosphere, would go again in a heartbeat
