   You get a different vibe from the pictures, but when you enter the restaurant it’s something else. I was expecting great service and experienced waiters/waitresses, great music that goes with the vibe and excellent food but they all turned out to be an ok experience. The service was ok, the waiters and waitresses were inexperienced, the music didn’t go at all with the restaurant and the food quality was ok. The only enjoyable part of my experience was the entrance and the first few minutes of it, the rest was not as I expected.

   food was good, but it was advertised to have music at 5pm, we signed up for the jazz package at 5pm. when we got there we were told that music doesn't start until 7.30pm. we booked mainly for the music, so although it was a nice place and the food pretty good, we left a little disappointed.

   Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! Could have seen this being a place that was getting by with mediocre food and cool ambiance, but that was not the case. Everything was delicious! Would definitely go back!

   This was our first visit to the LA Beauty and Essex - our reservation was for 9:15pm. Shortly after we were seated we were asked to order all of our food at once with a promise that it would come out staggered as the kitchen was closing. We were also about 15 minutes into being seated and asked if we would need to order more drinks as the bar was closing. How could we possibly know if we needed more drinks already?! We felt extremely rushed - reservations should only be accepted if there is ample time to enjoy your meal - especially at this price point. Our mains came out while we were only 1/4 finished our appetizers…we ate our pasta and lamb cold - complete waste of money. Very disappointed and I felt bad for our waitress as she was only the messenger. Vegas location was much better.

   Came here for a late birthday celebration on a Jazz Sunday night. The music was a little too loud (perhaps because I was expecting smooth/soft jazz), but the venue was beautiful. The food was definitely very small portions, but absolutely delicious and somehow I was full by the end of the meal.

    Extremely rushed service, all orders came out at once as all orders were demanded simultaneously. Appetizers, entrees, hot and cold food all arrived quickly, but all at once despite saying food will be “coursed out.” No time given to order even a second drink (a glass of wine) as dessert time was forced upon and the second glass of beverage was forgotten about as it was ordered at time of the first drink. They were looking for quick table turnover above all else.

    My husband and I first visited this restaurant on Valentine’s Day 2023. We became hooked on both the service and the overall ambience. The DJ is the best in the business! He definitely enhanced the experience. The food is excellent as well! You won’t be disappointed.

    Excellent Service and very good food with a creative but small menu. Indoors is load but vibrant room and the downstairs patio is much quieter. Great spot!

    The vibe is so fresh and fun. We had the tomato soup grilled cheese and bacon dumplings...AMAZING. The tuna sashimi and the steak tartare we're so delicious. For a table of three we got 6 dishes and it was a perfect amount of food. I will be back! Want to sit in the main dining room next time for a different experience than upstairs.

    It was okay, the food was just okay, a little pricey for small portions, but it's Hollywood so I recommend to eat something before going. Overall not bad.

    If you are visiting LA for a short trip and happen to be staying at Dream Hollywood or around there, it should be on the list of places to dine. (I’m writing this on my flight home, I never do these things!) Once you get past the mystery entry (which is a bit cheeky) there are a number of different rooms in which to dine. Our group dined in what is likely the largest spaces (I think) and around us were a mix of folks there for different occasions so it can cater to many different sized groups. Be warned it’s loud. Also weird for LA it says there is a dress code of sorts and don’t think it was necessarily enforced based on attire is saw but if you aren’t at the hotel there and from out of town just call and check. Now the food! A very nice selection of dishes. For a carnivore turned vegan I was very impressed with the dishes and there is something for everyone in your group. They have a separate vegan menu! and some dishes appear on both menus with small changes and they can put things on the side so you can still share. We ended up ordering 85% of the meal from the vegan menu it was very flexible and to my knowledge not a compromised dining experience for my colleagues. While it’s tapas style the large plates are nice portions by themselves. Enjoy!

    Very lively restaurant with beautiful interior near Hollywood & Vine and Pantages theatre. Great staff, very friendly. Bar made any drink we asked for not on their menu. Food was very good, a nice selection of everything! It is family style, which isn't my favorite way to dine. Prices are the same as everywhere these days. I would recommend it for anyone going to the Pantages theatre but not necessarily for anything else as Hollywood is disgusting these days. Valet service very good. We left our car and walked over the the theatre.

    This is a great place to eat if you are going to a show afterward. It has a wonderful patio outside, but inside is more of a speakeasy as you walk through a pawn shop. Interesting selections for food and drinks

    One of LA’s best restaurants. Service was great, food was excellent, nice atmosphere. This week I’ve been there twice. Sunday Jazz live music was amazing. Definitely recommend to everyone.

    I had the absolute best birthday dinner here! The staff was so amazing and accommodating, even the manager was so kind! Amish was the best and extremely friendly. The food was so flavorful, tasty, and fresh. We talked about our meal the rest of the night. My friends and I will be making this our regular spot as we all work close by.

    Great place to meet friends and share plates with delicious cocktails. We shared 6 dishes between three of us and of course ended with the milkshake dessert. Friendly and professional staff. Will be back.

    Food wise - very disappointing! Everything we ordered came out cold! We sent a couple of items back and still came back cold. I believe they make a bunch of entrees ahead of time to address the crowd - but the food is just sitting there getting cold. Won’t go back again. On the flip side - our server was amazing - we tipped him well as we know it’s not his fault. I hope this review catches the eyes of their management as they have lost a customer. This place has lost its charm.

    It was my first time here with a friend and Courtney our server made everything very approachable she was super kind and patient in her service even for a busy Saturday night. She also had great explanations of the dishes. Herself and the support staff made sure our table was always clear and our drinks never go empty. The cocktails were mediocre, I got the Earl the Pearl and it was overly sweetened, couldn’t taste the mint oil or much of the lemon at all. My friend got the watermelon lemonade and it was alright tasted like watermelon water. The ambience was beautiful including the high ceilings and the decor was amazing! The front desk and hostess team were amazing. Greeted us with a smile and very attentive despite so much going on around them. Even when I asked for her to take a photo at the end of the night she said I would love to but let me direct you to another person who is available as I am with another guest at the moment. Overall a good experience, excited to come back try different cocktails and would definitely recommend to others.
