This definitely doesn't live up to the dinner (which is very good) - this however felt cheap and really the food was not up to scratch. Both my friends eggs were under cooked (raw white). I couldn't have the special starter on the brunch even tho their was items on the brunch that were more expensive (so made no sense) The chorizo start was completely tasteless and to be honest so was the main. Also the drinks kept being filled up way to high in the glass (disaster was bound to happen) and it did. My drink spilled all over the table by the waitress who rather than clean it up continued to fill other tables glasses leaving me to have to ask several times for it to be cleaned up then ask for more napkins then ask for a fresh glass - really the servicewasn't up to scratch at all - but the dinner is very good but I'm turned off now so won't be returning
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive! The food was delicious, would highly recommend!
Had dinner on Saturday night. Great food - we enjoyed just what the name suggests. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was busy. Price was reasonable. If I had to say anything critical, the music was a bit too loud for an old guy like me, whilst the wine list could be a bit more extensive.
Everyone was great. Manager/owner very attentive and involved
Went there to celebrate my sisters birthday at a nice place while in Dublin. The Food was good but a bit pricey, ala carte menu and charged for water and bread. The service was slow, they called it all hands on board, but it was difficult to get their attention and I noticed one person walked out after seating. The decor was very nice, but it was very loud so not the place for a quite meal.
Great food, and atmosphere, I will come back again!
Very much enjoyed the experience at Beef & Lobster. It is on the pricier side, but the food is truly worth it. We had the special and 3 sides and absolutely loved everything. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend to others.
Unfortunately they had no record of our booking with OpenTable but we were accommodated. Staff had very little English which (who appeared to be) the manager seemed aware of and checked on us a few times.
Very touristy venue, not what we expected from outside.
Got the surf n turf. Steak was overdone, small fillet compared to what you'd get in many other restaurants. Nice chargrilled taste otherwise. Prawns were nothing special, garlic butter didn't pack any punch, pepper sauce was the usual. Nothing stood out about the food. Side salad was actually the best bit. Great dressing on it.
Service and food were excellent. I’ll definitely be back!
Surf and turf was outstanding: angus full tasty and lobster cooked as it has to be ! Too bad that there is so much noise in the dining room
I really enjoyed it and the food was excellent. The bottomless mimosa brunch option went down well!
Came here Friday night for my birthday, has been on my list for awhile now so was delighted to get a chance to go. Ordered bread and dips to start unfortunately they never came out it was only when the waitress passed our table after about 15 minutes that she asked did we get our bread, when we said no she apologised and went to get it, just as she put it on the table we were brought our steaks!!!! So we recieved starters and mains together, I wasn't impressed but the guy that brought us our steak was really apologetic and in fairness it was very busy and these things do happen, he also took it off the bill. Our steaks were beautiful cooked to perfection and the truffle and parmesan fries were also delicious. All in all a great meal, my brother is coming home from Japan in July I have not seen him in 2 years and I have promised him a trip to Beef and lobster so I'm hoping it's as good second time round. The only downsides is charging for tap water and service a bit slow, wouldn't turn me of returning I just won't be ordering water next time!!!
First time there, am a regular customer of Bon Appetit and Cleaver East, so was wondering what Beef & Lobster would be like. I was not disappointed, its up to Oliver Dunnes usual very high standards.
Was dying to try this place but have to say wasn't great. They had no crab claws so I got "extra" prawns and we asked for truffle parmesan chips and got regular and a wrong drink order.Overall I was so looking forward to this quirky place but big let down sad to say.
V.busy on arrival with little room for 8 to wait for booked table but received a warm welcome. Prosecco was sickly sweet & couldnt drink it-a 1st.Very disappointed that no crab claws left(main reason i picked resturant). Sour dough burnt under crab meat, starter of apparrently prawn/lobster fritter was non event. However alot of group ordered surf n turf & enjoyed it. Needs to improve alot before a return visit
Good service but steaks not cooked as requested value not aligned with the price. Beer was cold wont return any time soon
Nice buzzy place but food was average and the steak was incinerated. The staff were very nice and tried to smooth things over. Probably will never go back nor recommend it to anyone.
Bottomless did mean bottomless, Belini's were gorgeous, and in general food was lovely, however service wasn't just as good, with food mixups and delays. Would go again but when not so busy
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!
Food was fab and staff were very attentive and friendly
A lovely evening, good food, good service and good crack! Need i say more!
Very overpriced. Steak is about 24 euro and you don’t even get any sides. I asked for a medium steak and it was well done. My boyfriend asked for blue and it was medium. We got two started two mains sides and one drink each and it was 100 euro. Far too expensive for the lack of quality. Full of tourists.
Nice place, tasty and good food just in de center of Temple Bar
Had a lovely evening and meal here.
Food was nice, service excellent and quite good value for money.
Really enjoyed our brunch/lunch on Saturday. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back again!!
Great food, the lobster/prawn fritters were very tasty to start and the surf and turf was outstanding. Will definitely be back!!
Completely over rated and over priced on the seafood.. perhaps that's not the case for steaks and chips n' fries.
Waiting period was considerable taking into account the order, but the restaurant was almost full.
Service tax shouldn't apply for 2 people regular meal with the service it was provided (10%). Should be up to the customer to decide that (didn't wanted to make a scene but it's an unpleasant surprise)/.
Lovely dinner overall - the service was attentive and fast, the food was fantastic, and the ambience was pleasant and relaxed. The duck wings were absolutely delicious, and my fillet steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered a bottle of red wine for our main course - the selection was okay, if a tad expensive, and although it tasted fine at the first sample, we found that the montepulciano tasted fizzy once a full glass was poured. We didn’t send it back, but found when we asked for the bill that we’d been charged twice for the bottle. The staff were apologetic, and quickly corrected the error. I would definitely go back, but I’d probably stick to beers next time!
Amazing as always. Everything from start to finish was perfect.
We had a few issues with wrong food coming, missing orders and starters coming after our main. Very expensive for what it is, and we weren’t impressed with the food. The half & half burger was bland and over cooked and ‘medium rare’ steak was more like medium-well. Looks like we came on a bad night, from the reviews we were expecting great things. Disappointed.
Fantastic Saturday night atmosphere and buzz. Really enjoyed the food (although the lobster was a little tasteless) and the drinks were delish! Will definitely go back as felt it was good value for money and service was efficint but we didn't feel rushed. Toilets could have done with some attention.
Lovely location, saw it while we were on a bus it looked verry good and it actually was good. Steak was perfectly cooked. And the peanutbutter mouse was fantastic. When we are in Dublin again we will definitely eat here again.
Had this restaurant booked in advance for bottomless brunch for st Patrick’s day as aware it can be hard to get a table with so many people about. We were so excited to do the bottomless brunch and had heard really good things about beef and lobster. However when we got there we were told that there was no bottomless brunch menu on Saturday and therefore for us it was going to work out a lot more expensive to buy drinks individually. So so disappointing. Food was good but service was terrible. We had to ask 3 times what the vegetarian options were before we finally got an answer. This was for our friend’s birthday and it definitely dulled the mood as we were really looking forward to it.
Myself and 9 other friends were arranging a get together on St. Patrick’s day in Dublin so we decided on doing a brunch city centre so upon exstensive research of good brunch spots beef and lobster seemed to come out on top, we then noticed they did bottomless brunch which was a fantastic addition! I booked the table over 1 month in advance to avoid any disapointment and even went in the Wednesday before our brunch to
Double check our booking and to ensure we could do bottomless brunch. Upon arriving to the restaurant on March 17th we were told that they could not offer us bottomless brunch due to it being St. Patrick’s Day. We received no email or phone call to inform us of this before arriving to the restaurant and no great effort was made by management to apologize. We were extremely disappointed however I have to commend one of the young waiters with slight facial hair was just so lovely and good humored even though they were very busy!
The food was good, but the service was just really poor.
We were never informed that there is a special which is not listed in the menu, the two main courses came at different times, even tough we got asked several times how many main courses we ordered and if we share something. Although the restaurant was not crowded (maybe 3/5 of all tables full at highest peak) and there were at least 4 waiters in the room, no one ever paid attention to our empty glasses or recognized, that we were served food without having appropriate cutlery.
As this was a special occasion dinner, we were quite disappointed. Not going there again.
The food was lovely, very tasty, but service was very slow even thought it didn't seem to be very busy .
Pre - Mothers Day
Service was extremely slow.
Very busy place. We went there on a Saturday night and I’m glad we had reservations. We saw two different couples turned away due to lack of open tables. The quality of the food was really good and very flavorful.
The only unpleasant surprise was a €12.95 discretionary surrcharge at the end of the meal. We were a party of two so I’m not sure why we got a surcharge?
Anyways, potential diners beware. Can’t imagine what surprises await a larger party at the end of their meal.
