   I visited Bellamy’s last night for the first time. Such a beautiful restaurant with top-shelf service. Fernando was personable, funny and a truly professional waiter. The dining experience is unique, built around their French influenced, California-modern cuisine. We ordered a variety of dishes and the overall quality of the food was somewhat of a mixed bag. When making my reservation I requested a booth but we were sat at a table. I found the chairs to be very comfortable. When offered water service, I thought I was back in Europe! We were given the dizzying choices of sparking, mineral, still, tap, etc. For what it’s worth, the tap water here is very good. The classic margarita extremely sour. I enjoyed the impressive wine list. The “Baby Romaine” is their version of a Caesar Salad. It had a little too much going on, especially the pepita seeds which I found unnecessary. The seared poached egg was a nice touch. Bread service was fairly pedestrian. Lukewarm, flavorless sliced white loaf accompanied by rock hard butter triangles. My son enjoyed his French Onion Soup. Unfortunately the baguette was soft; either not toasted or already sogged out. My wife had the “Steak Frites”. Made with a prime flatiron steak that was cooked past the requested medium-rare. Fries were very good; thin, hot, crispy, etc. My son’s “Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib” was probably the best dish among the three. I ordered the “Baja Stone Crab Pasta” and in retrospect wished I hadn’t. The spaghetti was cooked to a perfect al dente, but didn't have enough moisture in the lemon-butter sauce. The strands just stuck together and didn’t easily separate. The crab seemed rather institutional. Looked and tasted like a pasteurized, bulk food-service type crab. There was such an abundant amount of crab in the dish it overwhelmed the balance with it’s strong smell, flavor and mechanically separated texture. I couldn't eat it all. For dessert, the Creme Brûlée was tasty, but the top was soft sadly.

   Service was terrible. Our waiter was the bartender.much too busy to tend our table. Would have ordered more drinks and dessert but no one came to our table.bus boys ignored us. Finally flagged down the hostess to get our chec. Not going back!

   The service was slow and very bad. We were there for 2.5 hours and most of that time was waiting. We had to track down our server multiple times; he simply vanished. The food wasn't good at all. We took a couple of bites and left the rest. Perhaps this is a decent local bar, but not a good restaurant.

   Great ambience for a special meal. Relaxed and comfortable, yet elevated. Orion assisted us and he knew the options, both food and drink, and presented them with enthusiasm and confidence. You sensed his pride in the menu and his confidence in the Bellamy's experience.

   Honestly, I expected a bit more for what I consider an upscale restaurant. The food was good but not exceptional. The plating of the food was less than elegant. I got a bowl of mashed potatoes and 5 slices of flat iron steak. There was no sauce to the steak, some garlic butter but not enough. Our waiter was very nice and personable but, it took two hours to eat dinner and we had to pass on dessert because we had theatre tickets so we had to leave. The noise level of the restaurant was greater than expected. Honestly, I would say it was so good we'd go back but honestly, we won't

   Great specials but skip the chicken dinner it was a bit disappointing. Corkage fee was high for Escondido restaurant. Service was excellent and waiter was made aware of our time-line and was accommodating. All over a good experience except fir for the above first 2 items.

   We were last at Bellamy's last summer and sat out back. We had an excellent meal, but this time it was quite different. My cioppino was lukewarm, the shrimp overcooked, and there were slices of fennel in the broth that were not cooked so it was like chewing stringy bamboo. The fennel didn't give the broth flavor so I'm not sure why it was even in there. My friends flank steak was so grissley and chewy she had to send it back, which they were quite gracious about. The short rib was cooked well but was dry and needed more sauce. The chicken had a great flavor but the breast was a weird rubbery texture. On the good side, the drinks were amazing and the service was great. I just wished the food matched

    After reading positive reviews, we decided to give this restaurant a try. However, we were left feeling underwhelmed with our experience. While the service was attentive and commendable, and the ambiance was pleasant, the food did not meet our expectations. My wife ordered the scallops dish, which cost $50, and only received four small scallops accompanied by an unappetizing sauce and a squash side dish that she described as gross. Similarly, my Steak Frites was unsatisfactory as the steak was prepared using the sous vide method but lacked proper searing, resulting in an overcooked and disappointing meal. Even our guest's Cioppino dish was underwhelming, resembling more of a pasta with toasted bread rather than a flavorful seafood stew. The bread was also unremarkable and dull, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the subpar quality of our meals. The only worthwhile dish was the roasted Brussels sprouts. Overall, our experience was three strikes and three misses

    I was very disappointed with the menu. They do not offer wild caught fish. They ran out of the chicken dish early in evening. The wine list was minimal. My guess stated that they will not come back to this restaurant.

    Food was good but squid appetizer was very chewy. I appreciate the keto and gluten feee options. The rest of the meal was delicious and our server, Orion, was fantastic. The manager did not charge us for the overcooked appetizer which was nice. I would try this restaurant again.

    Chicken dinner was costly and overcooked.....very dry. The special appetizer had two pieces of octopus, two shrimp and four of the tiniest mussels I have ever seen.....Almost $24.

    We had an amazing special of fish that was incredibly delicious. The service was perfect and we were pleasantly surprised by the relatively low bill at the end (surprisingly low for a “nice” restaurant like this).

    Love the Wednesday special of a bottle of wine for 50% off (except for the reserve wines), but they have narrowed that down to a handout list. Nevertheless, they have good wines on the list. Food is consistently very good, fresh, and imaginative, and the waitstaff are always friendly and helpful. They do change up the menu often, which I do appreciate. The desserts are also very good, but it is too easy to enjoy their soups and salads, so usually no room for the desserts! Some nights they do have music.

    We all got the rib steak special, cooked just right and very flavorful. The group next to us were a little noisy, which is usually not the case at Bellamy’s. Overall it was a pleasant evening and everyone in our party was happy with their meal.

    A pleasantly surprising dinner experience. A high end dining experience, that was not pretentious. Food was superb and the service was excellent. Will be back with friends. I want them to enjoy themselves as much as I did.

    Our Brussels Sprouts, Mushroom Risotto, Spareribs, and bread were all very tasty and served at the right temperature. The arugula and apple salad was extremely tart, so we'll pass on that next time. Cameron took diligent care of us, and we look forward to our next visit.

    awesome food! brought my parents here for their first time. my dad is always very particular with food he likes and this was a home run! our server was great too- very knowledgeable. i believe him name was o brian? so upset i forgot his name because he was awesome! can’t wait to come back soon

    Food was good overall. But my own Ribeye steak was over cooked and even burned on edges and undercooked in middle and had to much gristle and fat. So I was a bit disappointed in that one item. The rest of my party food was great they said.

    Without making this super specific of our numerous prior experiences... Used to be better food, prices were kind of so-so but usually always deemed worth it. So sad to write this. Tonight the Monday Prime rib "special" is $51 dollars, and Outback Steakhouse could put a better combo together both presentation and taste wise. Even though I requested it. No au jus? Just some demi-glaze that would be better suited on a steak. No cheese for a "loaded" baked potato? A light sprinkle of a few random bacon bits and chives. A cold hard potato at that. Oh and a couple of scraggly carrots that weren't quite so orange. Empanadas, ehhhh don't quit your day job. Clam chowder, ok but served in a small cup with more potato chunks than anything else. Soda, up your CO2 levels please. Service was decent, but slow at times. Menu has a bit of an identity crisis, what is the concept here? Have a few basic things for people in our party that don't like complex creations. Lastly, try stocking some higher-end liquors and more varieties of bourbons and other spirits at the bar. I know we are in Escondido, but let's up the ante here. The back bar is sparsely stocked and looks like you are at a banquet function. Also, why the upcharge if you order a mixed drink? Speaking of fees. They are tacking on a 4% surcharge on all checks for "minimum wage" supposedly... Yes of course, food costs, wages, inflation, etc. I get it, im in the industry, but just seems to be alot of cost for not much delivery. We recently ate at Vintana for less than we paid here tonight. Thats sad because we want to support the independent operators. Sorry to be so negative, just a little underwhelmed this time.

    Great place for date night. Appetizers raw oysters - tasted great. For entre, I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly - practically melted in my mouth. Mashed potatoes not so good though no taste. My husband ordered the Cioppino w/spaghetti. The seafood was great! Nice atmosphere as there was live music in the bar. We sat in the restaurant area and the level of noise was moderate - didn't interfere with our conversation. I would like to see more options on the menu as its a bit limited. Courteous service and we were able to make last minute reservations on a Friday night.

    Very nicely appointed restaurant. Met by GM at the door, and seated promptly. The menu is somewhat limited, and although there were three "specials", none of them were entrees. The short ribs were superb!! Wine prices were reasonable, for those that were by the glass or bottle. Higher end wines were a bit pricy, as were some of the entrees. A nice dining experience!

    We ordered blacken mahi mahi and braised beef short ribs ribs. the food were absolutely decadent and delicious. Our server Brian was wonderful, his knowledge of food and wine were excellent, his recommendation of food and drinks were great especially my husband has food allergies.

    We celebrated the 39th anniversary of our first date with a wonderful meal at Bellamy’s. Awesome martini’s, Steak frite, scallops, apple and arugula salad, warm apple-caramel dessert and a shared glass of ruby port! The entire staff was so welcoming, our server was awesome, the food and drinks excellent, the live music a nice surprise, everything was just perfect! Thank you! We will be back to this hidden gem in Escondido!
