   This place is always a great experience. A lovely atmosphere, great Italian food, plenty of variety, awesome cocktails, great wine, and fantastic staff! All requests for advise during ordering were well catered to, with all suggestions being well received by our party. The vibe of the place is great, and they have a fun looking bar downstairs for those interested.

   Great for a group occasion. I'd love to visit again. Food serving was a bit slow so we had to spend around 1k on beer during the meal. Drinks are a little pricey but valuable.

    Had a friend visiting from Perth and we booked a table with short notice. The entry level had a great vibe, however were taken downstairs where there were no windows and were sat at the worst possible table, in the corner by the stairs, where there was crap all on the carpet and so much electrical tape on the wall (not sure what it was covering). I thought, well we booked late so this must be the last table, but only half of the decent tables filled up. So disappointing. The service was also very disappointing. The pasta was great, but too many negatives so will not be going back.

    Late night dining- King prawns and gnocchi were well prepared, friendly service, cocktails and dancing. Eclectic group, fun night. Is noisy but expected.

    Music was awful and loud, felt like I was at a hip hop concert. Food cold, gnocchi fried in so much oil, when did we start frying gnocchi? I’m Italian!! Parpadelle ragu cold and drowned in salt, prawns swimming in more oil, salmon decent but really thickly cut so not enjoyable as became chewy, I’m sorry I’m not one to write things like this but coming from London and being recommended this place it was just pure disappointment so I just have to say it how it was , that’s how it was, time to get a chef that cares I think 🤔

    With my best friend We were enjoying each others company however couldn’t NOT notice that our waiter was affected with some substances (not sure if alcohol/drugs) but he definitely was high. When bringing a cheese platter to us (chiefs selection) he couldn’t even recall the name of the cheese by saying “aaaaa mmmmm this one is mmmm”. It wasn’t nice. After a while another stuff started looking after us and the situation improved. But this behaviour was upsetting.

    Had my wife's birthday celebrations at big poppas on Saturday.. We had a booth downstairs in the club where the atmosphere was awsome. Old school hip hop tunes 👌 with nice food and drinks. Service was on point would be back again! The only little thing disappointing was the music play list or DJ the songs played were abit repetitive.. it's was more of a cradi b playlist then the biggie on the night

    The food was amazing, had the lasagna and the pappardelle and the wine was also good, had a white and the primitivo. For us the only issue is the music. It is hard to have a conversation because the music is so loud.... ok that is rap but it should be in the background not the centre of the night. Otherwise would give it 5 stars.

    The food was delicious but like many Sydney establishments at the moment it seems experienced staff are really lacking. Eg our waitress asked if we were ready to order just minutes after we sat down barely giving anyone time to even look at the menu; we'd only been given two menus for four people; two mains came way after the other two who had half finished so their food wouldn't go cold. Good selection of wines in the menu. Fun vibe downstairs in the bar afterwards, overall a great night!

    I had heard good things about Big Poppas, admittedly it was more about the venue & the bar. We ordered food & I ordered a half glass of wine (big bangers list) the waiter tried to talk me out of that choice & said I should buy a bigger glass - I had to explain 3 times that I was driving so only wanted half. One of the party ordered the special spaghetti vongole - the waiter came back advising there was “no spaghetti left” they then ordered the gnocchi which was swimming in butter & tasteless, the lasagna was burnt & the best part of our meal turned out to be the burrata! What a complete waste of $200 - very, very disappointing experience.

    A cool and vibrant place with excellent food and decent wine list. Music was loud - 100% hip hop. Service was mixed. Great advice on the wine from one member of staff but very slow service from another.

    I’ve always loved Big Poppa’s but unfortunately my partner and I had a really poor experience last night. I’ve never been when it was so packed so the noise of people over the loud music was pretty insane. Our food was average and definitely not worth the money and my partner said his lamb pasta was extremely bland. Our food took forever as our waiter forgot to put our mains through. The staff were nice but we sat there for ages thinking they’d forgotten about us and they had. We just wanted a quick dinner but ended up being there for almost 2 hours which was very frustrating as we had somewhere to be. It would’ve been great if they’d offered to take something off the bill because honestly the wait for our mains was ridiculous. We waiting almost an hour and a half for our pastas, and were offered Limoncello shots as compensation even though we’d said we weren’t drinking.
