New Year’s Eve! It was great!
Great place for anniversary dinner or everyday dining. Always great service and food. You can tell they take pride in what they do.
Bistro 82 is a very nice restaurant with excellent food, ambience and service. We encourage you to give them a try if you are looking for a great experience.
Bistro is our go to place for date night. Adam is amazing and ensures we always have a great time.
First time visit...…..very impressed with both the menu and the great service provided. Would definitely recommend.
The salmon and the squash soup were both amazing. The restaurant is very lively and fun for a Saturday night out. Our service was excellent. I will definitely dine here again.
The Filet Mignon was prepared perfectly and my Wife's Chicken Milanese was excellent. Upscale and well worth the money. We will be returning soon.
The décor is very modern with an open space feeling. The food and service are both very good. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions because it is not inexpensive.
I’ve been here before, and loved it even more this time. Three of us ordered filets and they were delicious, done perfectly. The onion soup dumplings were delicious too. The salmon and lamb were equally delicious. Overall an amazing meal!
Food always outstanding. Have had their salmon and filet and would go back in a heartbeat and order either. John the waiter isexcellent and we were sure to ask to sit in his section the second time we went.
Excellent meal-- presentation, quality of ingredients, couldn't ask for more. Loved the ambiance, we we there for a friends 30th birthday girls night. Upscale, simple, modern decor but not pretentious. Great for date night or small parties.
Great food & service in an inviting setting. A chilly room temperature was the only drawback.
This used to be a favorite for us. Something seems to have changed?
Food was good overall - the steaks were a little over-salted. nice wine selection. decent cocktails. restaurant wasn't almost empty but for some reason we were sat way in the back which I thought was odd.
My wife birthday and the food was great, the only thing was that it took about 35 minutes before the main dish was served. the appetizers came relatively fast then a long pause. Not sure what caused the delay but other than that we very much enjoyed the meal.
Delicious food, love the atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back!
Going back soon. Had an thoroughly enjoyable evening.
The service was great and the food excellent. Our fillet mignon was cooked and seasoned to perfection and we were pleasantly surprised to see escargot on the menu. The escargot was also delicious, but would be brightened up a bit if served with lemon wedges to to cut the richness. All the dishes were served piping hot which we enjoyed. I would definitely recommend Bistro 82 for an enjoyable dinning experience.
We ordered orange cauliflower and french onion dumpling soup as appetizers, being told that the latter was their most popular appetizer option. The cauliflower is prepared exactly like a Chinese restaurant's "orange chicken:" battered and deep fried, in a slightly spicy and very sweet sauce, quite good. The "soup" is NOT soup, but a series of 7 small onion-flour dumplings in soup broth, each one in a separate well of a specially designed plate, then covered in an inch of mozzarella cheese which is browned like the soup would be. The overall effect of the two appetizers was huge fat and calories, with flavors/mouthfeel coming from flour, oil and sugar rather than quality ingredients prepared innovatively.
Our mains were more successful. One of us (age 14) got the cheeseburger and fries, with which he was very happy. The 2 adults shared the maple-glazed salmon (our hands-down favorite) and the mushroom pappardelle, which we deemed too salty but otherwise well prepared, with a variety of fresh vegetables and nicely al-dente pasta. The salmon was perfect - top broiled, inside just shy of fully cooked through, with a fabulously sweet-and-savory glaze. The turnip/apple-brussel sprout combo was an excellent accompaniment, roasted to caramelized brown goodness.
My favorite restaurant in Royal Oak. I have NEVER had any complaints and the food is AMAZING.
We went to Bistro 82 for my fiances birthday and it was amazing! The filet was melt in your mouth perfect. Waiter was very knowledgeable about all of the menu options and wine. Will be back most certainly.
Celebrated my 60th bday there and was, per usual, fantastic! Food was delicious, service - top notch, just an overall great evening!
Steak Frites were incredible
We always enjoy dinner at Bistro 82. This time we tried the Bouillabaisse and liked it. We ordered a side of the Epi bread, which is always good, a salad, and a side of broccolini. I felt the menu was a bit pared down this time, but restaurants do change their menus quite frequently.
Great wine list.
Outstanding French food, We had NY Strip and Frites, Sea Scallops, and Seafood Bouillabaisse. The Scallops and Bouillabaisse, were spectacular. The scallops might have been the best I have ever tasted in my life and that says a lot! The Steak and Frites were also excellent. For Appetizers we had the EPI bread orange cauliflower and a side of Ratatouille with our entrees. The orange cauliflower blew me away. The bread and ratatouille were good too. The wine was good but not spectacular, I have better for less money. They seemed to favor a cellar of expensive wines suited to a very refined palate. I'm a wine enthusiast but I find plenty of great wines at reasonable prices and many top restaurants offer price range variety. I thought their selection was not as expansive as one might hope from a high end French restaurant, and their selection of wines by the glass was also quite modest. For dessert we shared the chocolate tarte with peanut butter ice cream and it was sublime. I enjoyed the experience overall and will be back.
The best steak frites I’ve ever had, hands down!
Best steak frites in town! Great ambiance and service. Always consistent.
We were hesitate to come because not sure if we would like the food choices. They had a special that evening which we ordered. A filet mignon and glass of wine included with dinner. It was very tasty and a delicious dinner. We are so glad we went. Very good service and enjoyable experience as well.
Nice place to eat on a nice summer day with their wall open
My wife and I stopped in for a last minute date night. I had salmon and my wife tried a chicken special. The waiter made a few wine suggestions and they paired very nicely with our respective meals. We love the ambiance at Bistro 82 and the food was excellent as always.
I had not been to Bistro 82 in 6 or 7 months and it has always been our favorite restaurant for special occasions with and without friends or family. I knew some of the staff and they always made our visits memorable. Since that time the menu has been changed. Favorite appetizers and entrees have been eliminated or altered. What happened to the escargot, the cobia and the mussels. The entrees are small and seemed to be priced ala-cart. The whole idea of enhancements is ridiculous. For example one lobster and pasta dish had noodles and a insultingly small piece of lobster but for an additional $15 you could add an additional steamed or chilled lobster. Or an additional shrimp could be added for and additional $5. There were several other items on the menu that for an additional fee an additional food item could be added. Bread was provided but at an extra cost which was totally unacceptable as well as unusual in and upscale restaurant. In a round-about-way it felt as thought the waiter was apologizing for what was recognized as an unacceptable level of service. This service reached a new level of slow and low and the waiter was forgetful and unorganized. Because my wife could not find anything on the menu that was compelling she ordered a hamburger which is usually safe. It was horrible. It was over cooked, the bun seemed stale, it had grizzle throughout and no taste. It was nearly inedible and certainly not what one would expect but the French fries were great. The waiter had to be reminded on three occasions to provide a beverage. I was served a glass of wine and the waiter spilled wine down the stem of the glass. I thank you for the complimentary anniversary desert. To summarize Bistro 82 has fallen from a Five Star Restaurant to a very average Two Star. I wish you the best.
Never got service. Sat and did nor even get water till 15-20 minutes. Not busy at all either.
Waitress was super helpful and friendly. The manager apologized for not having a couple items on the seafood platter due to others ordering more than they anticipated that night but he was very accommodating and wanted to make it right. Tasty food and good wine selection. We will definitely be back soon!
I thought the food was great and the service was good. The ambiance was excellent. The ambiance is the best thing about the place by far, followed closely by the food itself. The service was a little slow. It was not super crowded, but took 45 minutes before we could place our food order. We were late with 1 hour and 30 minutes placed in our parking meter. With that being said though, I will definitely return.
Great food, wine list and service. A jewel in Royal Oak.
The restaurant was absolutely amazing. Crew was extremely polite and service top notch. Totally recommend the place and I will definetly come back again soon.
