   Food was to die for. Communicated our compliments to the chef via our server Chef then came out to thank us for our appreciation. My entire family enjoyed the experience as well. Thank you to Blue Moon Over Avila.

   Lunch menu was okay but not special since we went for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, even though I left instruction for a "birthday dessert" for the occasion, the waitress didn't get that instruction and no birthday anything mentioned in the end. It was a disappointment.

    We made reservations and arrived about 15 min early. We were taken immediately to our table and had the opportunity to sit in the back area where they have live music with a pianist. Our waitress, Aundrea was wonderful and fun. She explained everything clearly, including the specials and food choices. Nothing was a problem. The music was exquisite and we loved every song. I ordered the Wagu steak special and it was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the mushroom ravioli, which was beyond description. We ended up the dinner with a Creme brûlée and paired it with a French desert wine. A perfect dinner and music with perfect company. 41 years married and counting. We highly recommend this restaurant for an anniversary or for any reason!

    Our party had the salmon, the risotto, the French Onion soup, wedge salads and Coq au Vin with Creme Brulee to finish. Innovative flavor touches in every dish. All marvelous, as was the service. The first time our group had gotten together in over a year, and it was the perfect evening.

    Date night trying a new restaurant. Food was very good, the mushroom ravioli had a nice assortment of different mushrooms and the sauce was delicious. Also enjoyed listening to Jeanne Potter playing the piano after dinner. We will be back.

    There was no cadence to the service . For a restaurant of this level , the servers should know to space your service between your appetizer and salad course . Then dessert is served and coffee is 20 mins behind desert . They have the area cornered but , I recommend driving into San Luis or Pismo before spending money to eat here the staff is friendly . The quality of food was minimal and the menu too limited .

    I ordered the sea bass which was the special. Wasn’t told the price - shocked when I got the bill and it was $61.00 - much higher than the other entrees. And it was not very good. I ate the fish, but left all the soggy, mushy grain underneath it.

    I love this restaurant! European ambiance with great service and a view of Avila bay. I do miss the lobster sandwich they took off the menu as it was one of the best I have had on the central coast, but the French Onion soup and the farm to table salads and other dishes are wonderful

    Super delicious, perfect location right on the water! People were turned away for not having reservations (makes sense on a Sunday for brunch) so making one really helped!

    We had anticipated this being better and unfortunately tonight it just wasn’t. The menu is interesting and looks delicious but the execution just wasn’t great this evening. I’m sure it’s been wonderful for many people, but we were disappointed. For the price point…it just did not show up really at all. That said, we would come back and give it a second chance. It just feels like it wasn’t firing on all pistons this night and the food preparation and quality was just OK at best. And we ordered well. I know how challenging it is to provide excellent food and service. It’s just that I don’t feel like they had their best showing tonight or their best chefs performing well. I would still encourage people to go and give it a shot to support the business and just hope that your experience was better than ours on this particular night.

    Awesome ambience! Our server Andrea was phenomenal! Outdoor seating is a must, a perfect view of the coast! We went there on a Saturday and there was live music which was awesome! The food prices was fair for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend this place!

    Limited lunch menu, but some good choices nonetheless. All servers were cheerful and effective. Parking may be difficult, as the restaurant is on the beachfront in a beach resort town.

    The beachside views and ambiance of Blue Moon are unmatched in all of Avila beach- beautiful patio with lots of shade provided by striped umbrellas set the scene for a quaint french bistro. The food and wine were outstanding - we got the ahi nicoise salad and the vegan grain salad and both were excellent. Also the service was wonderful - our waitress was incredibly attentive and the owner (we think it was the owner? He had a lovely french accent) came by multiple times to check on us. Can't recommend this spot enough - we will definitely be back again and again.

    The atmosphere was very nice, but the food wasn't on par with the price or ambience. I had the mushroom ravioli, which was described as having a creamy mushroom sauce. The dish is vegan, so no cream and, sadly, no creamy consistency. It was more like a gravy. My friends' steak was also on the tough side. The brie appetizer was good and so was the Pinot from Alsace. They don't bring out an itemized check before they take your credit card, which I found weird. The bill seemed too high and when I checked the itemized receipt after they ran my card, I discovered they overcharged me. The wine on the bill was not the wine we ordered and were served. It was $20 more. We were charged $6 for a split plate fee for a dish that was not split and my friends ordered a salad as a starter and it came out with the steak. Maybe it was an off night, but it was my friend's birthday dinner, so disappointing.

    Great service, sunset, ambiance, wine selection... The food was not what I was expecting, it was good but not outstanding. We will come back at some point but there are other options for this price point.

    I found the food a mixed bag. My Bistro Steak was very good. My girlfriends Coq Au Vin was mediocre. It was dry with little to no sauce. The Escargot were just ok but the Pate was great. The service was good and our table had a lovely view of the water.
