Food and service always great. My favorite Italian restaurant in the City. Coming from New York, the self proclaimed leader of Italian food outside Italy, Bolton’s doesn’t take a back seat to any of that.

Brilliant, personal service with waiting and reception. Lots of charisma. Food was good and central London situation made it good value at 32 for 3 courses.

Great service, delicious food and great ambiance.

Meeting an old friend required somewhere close to his office with good food, easy access, plus an environment where we could talk and hear each other. Bolton’s ticked every box and the service was attentive without becoming invasive. Will definitely be back !!

Not too busy when we visited in the evening but the staff and food were excellent would highly recommend if you enjoy authentic Italian food a large menu choice

First time visit to this restaurant meeting with friends the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food we ordered was excellent no complaints i will go back it would be rude not to.

Bolton’s has been a staple for Cuty lunches for many years. The reason is that you can always rely on the quality food, service and ambience.
It is a little expensive for every day dining, but the food and service are excellent. I would certainly recommend a lunch at Bolton’s.

Bolton’s. old style subterranean Italian restaurant. Time locked in the 80s. Curlywurly carpets and dated decor. All the more charming for it. Nice atmosphere and very friendly old style Italian service. A feel good place. Food is OK. Actually ingredients good, cooking iffy. My liver was ordered medium and arrived raw. The fillet was rare, but ordered medium rare. Vegetables arrived en mass and were splashed onto the plate. Rib on the trolley did not look appealing. Road kill came to mind....
Verdict...nice old style establishment. No surprises; they have been sticking to their knitting for 30? Years. Lambswool rather than cashmere...

An authentic and well run Italian restaurant - with good size portions and tasty dishes. The 3 course set menu with a glass of house wine was good value at £27.50.

The host is Italian. The food and wine were superb. And my boss, who is Italian, loved it. Enough said.

Traditional is not always a bonus...

It had been many years since I last stepped inside Boltons. Rather than feeling happy to greet an old friend, I was left feeling that my old friend had not moved on from the nineties. The prices had gone up in step, but the menu, cooking and decor had not. The whole thing needs a jolly good re-boot.

Thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The food was very good, service was attentive but not intrusive and, although this was not a cheap meal, if was very good value for money.
This was a business lunch and will definitely be back.

An old favourite

Boltons never fails to deliver good food, highly attentive service and a decent ambiance. It is pricey but then it is aimed at business clients who aren't paying with their own money so who can blame them. If paying for your own food it is therefore a bit lumpy, however you'll more than likely still leave happy for all the other reasons Boltons is so good

Took my team there for our XMAS lunch absolutely fantastic, they all agreed it was one of the best meals they had ever had, great food/atmosphere/staff what more could you ask.

This was a great find...doesn't look much from the outside and initial first impression when you enter is not great but the food and service was second to none - excellent place for authentic Italian food.

Having worked in the city for a number of years I have walked past Boltons on a number of occasions, but glad I finally discovered it. Traditional Italian, which offers excellent food (and large portions) , attentive service and a great ambiance. Went for a business lunch with clients who also thoroughly enjoyed it. I have already booked it again.

Bolton's feels like a City institution. I popped in at lunchtime and it was buzzing but unfortunately when we had dinner in the evening the restaurant was very quiet. However, the food was excellent and authentic and the service was faultless. We were dining to celebrate my partner's Birthday and were made to feel special. would recommend.
