Went to dinner on Thursday and found out cocktails were half price and they were wonderful. There was a surprise tasting menu but decided to order off the menu. The courses took a while to arrive but everything was prepared well and flavorful.
I always bring my guests or visitors from the USA to bon Appetit. Good ambience and good good.
Good food and friendly service in an intimate environment
Very accommodating staff. Excellent food, especially Sunday steak dinners. Malahide parking very difficult in the evenings.
We went for my fiancé’s birthday. Food was great but starters are a bit “simple”. A bit pricey but would recommend.
Great food and service, a little quiet for a Saturday night but probably due to a large concert on nearby.
Very friendly staff. Nice food. Great location. Period house vibe is nice.
We'll have to give the tapas bar a go next time.
Good variety in options. Presentation of food was very good. Staff very attentive without being intrusive.
The evening dinner with friends was good bar one aspect, the "slow-cooked rack of lamb" was disappointing; not slow cooked, quite tough pink lamb chops. Everything else was v good.
Pure Class, We live in County Meath so its a bit of a trek for us. Deffo worth it. Thrilled they have Opened a Beef & Lobster Restaurant behind The Bon.
A family gathering for 5 siblings, 3 of whom don’t live in Ireland. Excellent meal & wonderful staff & ambience.
A little disappointed. We made this reservation for my fathers birthday based on the menu on their website. When we arrived the menu was completely different. I'm fully aware that restaurants of this standard change their menus often but they need to keep their website up to date.
Nice menu with lovely food.
Food was tasty and well presented with good size portions.
Very good pace to the meal and never felt rushed.
Wine was a bit too expensive for what you got.
The table service was excellent.
I have to say this was the nicest meal , I have had out in a very long time . The service was brilliant the food was amazing , especially the dessert sharing plate and there was a good variety on cocktail menu .
Again nicest meal I have had from starter to finish everything was delicious .
Staff are genuinely helpful and friendly and there is a really good vibe .
I have been a few times before but going to make it my business to go more often !
And will highly recommend also
I booked a table for 17 people,(big work crowd over from Germany and US) however, it was v tight and the heat in the restaurant was unbearable, my manager asked for his steak to be cooked a certain way medium to well done but they declined which is not a good impression and I think if you are paying for a steak you should be able to get it cooked the way you want. staff are very nice and I do like the restaurant but my manger was put off by the heat, over crowed table and not been able to get the food cooked the way he liked it., he will not go to the restaurant again.
Had lunch here on Sunday and really lovely as always. Really love this restaurant and also Cleaver East .
We had the tasting menu, which may seem expensive at €50 per person, but is actually amazing value. The food is both imaginative and delicious, and is prepared with really fresh ingredients. Thoroughly enjoyable!
Beautiful tasty dinner celebrating end of busy week! Good choice of menu and just enough food to feel full! Staff pleasant and attentive definitely will be back soon with my sons! Very good earlybird menu at 17euro two courses!
A couple of minor issues when it came to the order but it was sorted out without any fuss by the staff and the kitchen.
Tried to send this review privately through the bon appetite mail but unfortunately got no response. I said price is never an issue as long as you enjoy your meal. I have been going to this establisment for years right back to when the mcguirkes had the place and never had a bad meal until now. Lovely starter so i had high hopes but then came the steak, ordered m/r arrived well done as did my wifes. Desert was a let down as well, stogy profiteroles and salted caramel muffin again too thick and flavorless and heavy, clearly not fresh either. Had one bottle of beer and we paid €125 for two people, Again I only mention the price as the food wasn't great. We returned home to our in laws ( we were visiting ) and they said they had been a couple of months previously and had a similar issue with the food not being great.
Party of 8 including 2 children and everyone was happy with both service and amazing food.
Had the surprise menu here, it was outstanding, every course was unreal. We were lucky enough to go on a day that the head chef happened to be there.. the value for money on this menu is incredible . The waiters explained every single course in detail. And the chef was eager to find out how found each course .. it was Michelin star food, but not Michelin star prices .. cannot recommend this place highly enough . Food , Atmosphere and staff are all on top from in here.. everyone needs to visit this place and order the surprise menu.
Food was excellent - presented very well by very friendly and helpful staff.
My wife and I both had a very pleasant dining experience. All courses were excellent quality.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch, in a relaxed atmosphere. Pub food is fine now and then, but if you want to raise the bar then no better place to go than Bon Appetit . Our two starters and mains were excellent.
Overall a great reception very friendly service food great value for excellent quality. Hope to be back soon with friends to impress
We arrived half an hour early for our 8pm reservation and didn't not get shown to our table until 8.40, the first thing the waiter told us when he handed us the menu's was that they were out of steaks! We opted for the tasting menu which was delicious but I have to be honest how can a restaurant be out of steak before 9pm on a Sunday of a bank holiday weekend!!!!!
Its was my sons Confirmation day and they made a fuss of him which he loved. The food was fantastic as always
We went on mother’s day at 12.00 which was quite early but by the time they took our order it 12.40 then the drinks came about 10 mins later! We had to wait for salt and pepper as there was not enough per table then we had to ask could they put ice in the water as it was warm!! We had to wait for the sides for our mains so this meant our mains were nearly gone before they arrived. Then my daughter nearly had all her chips gone as the ketchup took about 10 mins to arrive after we asked for it. The tea again arrived when the dessert was gone. My daughter wanted a brownie from the children’s menu and apparently there were none and this was only 3hrs after they opened!
Dined here on Sat March 3rd.Have eaten here a few times now and never disappointed . The staff are attentive but not intrusive at all .The food tastes great ...well presented ,really delicious and adequate portion sizes and personally I feel very good value for money as it tastes so good. My only gripe is that the dining room was a little chilly that night but know it was during the v cold weather. Will not deter me from a return visit though. Excellent !
Overall staff very helpful & pleasant. Good fast service . Warm & pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend early bird. Good value & high quality. You can add on deserts & coffee and still very good value. Will certainly return.
Went for a brunch.Beautifully presented food with exquisite tastes.Magnificent starter of black pudding topped with a poached egg on a bed of puréed peas was particularly memorable. Will definitely return. The rest of the meal was of a very high standard
The food, as per usual, was very good. Only issue I had was a hot starter served on a cold plate that surely the server should have pointed out if the chief hadn't noticed. Also, €92 for an early evening meal for 2 with no alcohol is a little steep.
My husband and I had one of our best meals here. The food was 10 out of 10. Definitely the best food in Malahide!
Nobody at desk when we arrived had to wait for maybee 8 minutes as staff walked by a few times without being aknoliged we were there . Eventually we decided to make our i wn way down stairs to the seats before again waiting a few mins before being asked had we booked a table,,,,,the fact that we booked online and still the head waiter said he hadnt cheaked it for a few hours was even more annoying,,,wont be rushing back
Didn't have our booking on arrival and told us they were fully booked. When I produced our confirmation email we were told they'd find a table. We were then led to a third full dining room and told to choose whatever table we wanted. Could not have been made to feel less welcome! It's a pity because we enjoy the food and have visited many times before
We visited as a family group for a special occasion lunch and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were very helpful, we had a nice table, there was no rush and the food was really nice.
Too noise for a nice dinner, the food is very tasty and the waiters excellent
Few things missing from the new menu... bring back the mash potatoes!
First time there loved it... great food and wines, plenty of buzz ....service great....we will be back 👍
