    We have a lovely birthday lunch here, the food was delicious. The service was less attentive than we would have liked but we were sat at the end of the restaurant so it was difficult to attract attention of the waiters. The ambience was lovely - the high ceilings and open space with natural decor made it feel very calm. We will certainly return.

    Booking Office 1869 is a fantastic experience and absolutely worth a visit, whether you are stopping by for dinner, cocktails, or simply a drink while passing through St Pancras. We arrived for an early dinner at 5 o’clock, perfectly timed for the Victorian Punch session. It was such a joyful, sociable experience: the bar manager shared fascinating stories about the origins of Victorian punch and its five key ingredients, and engaged brilliantly with us and other guests around the bar. Seeing the original ticket windows preserved behind the bar is spectacular and gives the venue so much character. The atmosphere is wonderful. The room itself is beautiful, and the wider hotel is a fabulous setting with a real sense of occasion. It is busy, particularly on a Friday evening, so service was not instantaneous, but the staff handled the footfall well throughout. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the waiting team were excellent. The food was lovely overall. My friend’s duck was spectacular: beautifully cooked and perfectly presented. I had the salmon with cannellini beans, which was also delicious. The only small point of feedback would be the fries, which felt slightly too oily, perhaps from being fried more than once. That said, it did not detract from an otherwise excellent meal. The cocktails alone make Booking Office 1869 worth visiting. Although a few ingredients were unavailable on the evening, the team still created excellent drinks and offered plenty of great alternatives. A brilliant place to add to your London list, whether you live in the city or are visiting. Highly recommended.
