   Our server Brandon was lovely! Very well versed and charming. Everything was delicious from cocktails ( I enjoyed the “Council of Trees” most!). My partner had Sea Bass and I had the Vegan roast mushroom option, both excellent. Will be returning to try tasting menu!

   Highly rated and recommended establishment, but we found it to be overrated. The food was average at best. The only thing that was really good was the tagliatelle. Some of the dishes duplicated themselves. For example, the marinated vegetables on burrata were the exact same vegetables on the roasted beet and smoked carrot salad. However, the menu did not disclose that and both dishes were covered in lentils and I do not like legumes. No mention of lentils in either dish. The poached halibut was average. The beignet was really good, but shouldn’t be the star of the show. Server was really nice but slow. We didn’t get water until two dishes into our meal and never received a refill. The server didn’t bring us our bill for 20 minutes after request and then showed up with a water refill as we are leaving?? IMHO not worth the cost, time or food palette flavors.

    Overall the food and ambience were good but there were definitely some oddities. When the waiter first came, he explained in great detail about all the alcoholic drinks we could order. We went for brunch so we were looking for coffee, we had to ask about those options before he told us them. We ordered our food and drinks and weirdly the first course came before our drinks, it took awhile before the drinks arrived. The food was great but the portion of the potatoes in the steak and eggs was tiny. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a plain muffin with a candle in it at the end. Not complaining about getting something free but a plain muffin as a birthday treat? Seems like a weird choice. Would've appreciated some artwork in the latte as well. A lot of these things wouldn't bother me at a regular breakfast place but at a high end place like the botanist we had high expectations.

    The food here was life changing. Thoughtful, delicious, masterfully crafted. We cried tears of pure joy with each bite. 10/10 would recommend especially the beets and carpaccio🤌🏻

    Really large portions for each dish so very value for money. Most of the dishes were very delicious and well presented. One dish was a bit spicy and overwhelmed the other flavors.

    Brought my daughter here for her 23rd. The decor - stunning! Service - amazing! Cocktails - unique and delicious! She had the salmon and I had the duck. Absolutely perfect. Our server brought a birthday treat and made it gluten free for her. What a gem. We will be coming back soon!

    The cocktails here are always so good. The appetizers stellar and mains were delicious. The only regret is I wish I opted for vegan main as my duck main dish was a bit too much duck for my preferences.

    Great food and service as always! One of my favorite places in town. A comment about the King salmon is that the torched wasn’t enough and the center was a bit too raw, and we like sashimi, but a couple of minutes in the oven would have been perfect. Other than that, perfection!

    The reservation for brunch seating could have been more specific, main room vs patio garden. Service was great, but had to negotiate several rounds to get the main room seating, which was a hassle. However, once seated, the rest of the experiences were excellent. The two courses with two cocktail drinks were definitely good value considering the location and the ambiance. The portion was adequate and the flavour were well balanced. The drinks were definitely the highlight. Overall, will considering recommend to family and friends if they ever want to check out a place for nice brunch.

    I really enjoy the vegan cauliflower appetizer, however the entree was so-so and after alerting the server to a dairy allergy I was served Parmesan cheese. I probably wouldn’t eat there again.

    It is a definite must to go for the tasting menu. We didn’t have any food allergies, so we simply let ourselves be taken on a 7 course culinary adventure (1 course being the amuse-bouche and another, the palate cleanser). We were blown away by the creative and beautiful plating of the complex and well thought out components of each course. The flavours were amazing and the attention to detail was impressive! My husband doesn’t drink, and I can only have one glass of wine, so we didn’t add the wine pairings to our meal; however, the sommelier came over and, based on my preferences, offered a perfect wine which I enjoyed over the course of the evening. Our server provided impeccable service, and the ambiance was so lovely in the Garden nook where we chose to sit. There was a live pianist in the restaurant, and the din of the other diners who were conversing, but the noise wasn’t intrusive. We loved our first experience at Botanist and will be making the tasting menu experience here an annual event!

    Partner and I had the “We’ll Take It From Here” + wine pairing. Probably the best restaurant in Vancouver we been to. And the pairing was great. Service exceptional. Ambience was fun. Will definitely return in the future!

    It was quite a disappointing experience. The design of the place is nice, but it shows the age. We were offered a booth (like a secluded table with couches) and there were stains all over the seats. The service was ok, no complaints but I think waitressess' attire is completely inappropriate. Those green dresses would work well for an American diner, but not a high-end restaurant. And those dresses also look quite odd on mostly middle-aged staff and don't fit them well. The food was pretentious but we didn't enjoy any of the meals. Everything was oversalted to our taste. The drinks were also not impressive. Overall I'd say it was 3/5 experience, but when you think of the price it goes down to 1.5/5.

    Food was quite good - not outstanding though. The tagliatelle with mushrooms tasted good but lacked subtlety. The halibut with Dungeness crab was nice but the accompanying crab fritter was on the heavy side. I was a bit shocked that the restaurant offers ... New Zealand salmon rather than local sourcing- not environmentally friendly (in BC!). Overall, a good dining experience and sophisticated ambiance.

    Craft cocktail were genius and each and every dish was unique, well-prepared, and presented in an appetizing fashion. Wine selection was pretty broad and reasonably priced. Only downside is location within a hotel and above a busy lobby, though it is centrally located to downtown Vancouver. I would be back monthly if I didn’t live 1900 km away.
