We had a large group of 9 and had a wonderful meal and experience. Very nice time in Belmar. Don’t forget to bring your own bottle of wine!

We had a terrible experience at Brandl several years ago and vowed never to go back. Last weekend, we decided to give them another shot. That was a mistake... Our server was fine, but she lingered at the table too long and wasn't particulary knowledgeable about the menu. My Wife ordered the Everything Crusted Salmon, which is basically salmon seasoned like an everything bagel. It came with two small, sad-looking Yukon potatoes. The fish was cooked well but, despite us asking for light seasoning, it was overpowering. I ordered something called Lazy Lobster over asparagus risotto. It was lukewarm when it came to the table. The risotto was flavorless and watery. Definitely not fully cooked. The poached lobster chunks were a little overdone, but pretty tasty in some sort of vanilla bean butter. And there was absolutely not enough of it to justify the $47 price! We thought a crème brûlée for dessert might redeem the meal. But it was too thick and goopy, and the top had been torched too much. It tasted like one of those marshmallows that catches fire at the campfire. There were only a few other diners while we were there, so the old excuse of "The kitchen was slammed!" doesn't hold up in this case. Bottom Line: Don't go. And if you're looking for the best meal in Belmar, check out Emilio's on Main.

Nice place, food is very good (depending on what you order), but the night we were there was live entertainment and it was very loud. Will go back.

The food and service were excellent. Keep in mind, this restaurant is BYOB, but if you forget like I did, there is a liquor store right around the corner and the staff is happy to guide you there. I would go back again. The seating outside was very nice on a comfortable evening.

The meal was exceptional with spot on flavor profiles. The service absolutely top notch. Unfortunately, it was too warm to sit outside but our table inside was lovely. We will definitely return in the future!

Past couple of times food has been below average and painfully slow. Not sure what is going on but something has changed. We were there almost 3 hours to complete our meal. It took almost an hour after a single appetizer and then one of the orders was wrong. Overall very underwhelming and unfortunately I do not think we will be going back.
