Brickland is a family-owned neighborhood restaurant located in East Sacramento. We offer a mix of American, Mediterranean, European and other cultural dishes with an Afghan flare. We have Halal options.

We offer a full bar, indoor and patio seating, weekend brunch, and happy hour Tuesday-Friday 3:00- 6:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.

Our Executive Chef, Karel Mulac rotates the menu seasonally and crafts unique pasta dishes, housemade soups and weekly specials made with seasonal, farm fresh ingredients.

I highly enjoyed the service and atmosphere! The food was enjoyable, and although I’ve only been once, I am definitely coming again!

Not a great start: the hostess seemed nonchalant about her job, motioning vaguely without getting up from her seat, "Your table is over there." We had to guess which one was ours, "This is our table? No? This one here?" I was surprised by the casualness of it all as I thought this was a nice restaurant. Did it have anything to do with the fact that we are people of color? Hmmm. My mood changed when our waitress provided terrific service. She had great recommendations and maintained her politeness even when one of members of the party was less than refined. Some of the dishes were delicious: squid ink with seafood, chicken kebab, some was okay: salad was overdressed and the crab cakes were big, but only because they mixed in salmon with it. One dish was disappointing: the meatballs were a bit dry. But overall the flavors were good, especially the sauces. I'd be willing to give it another try, but next time I'll be more assertive and say, "Please walk me to my table."

Food was great! Drinks were average / below average. Friendly service but nothing special. It was my husband’s birthday and although I mentioned on the reservation that it was a special occasion, there was no acknowledgement of it.

Excellent Service. I’m vegetarian and my husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. We’re fairly new to the area and every single fine dining restaurant I called had nothing appealing for a vegetarian. While Brickland isn’t fine dining, it’s a very nice bistro with a nice atmosphere, wonderful staff and very good food. My appetizer was good. I had the kadoo bolani but the pastry was a bit overcooked on all edges which made it hard to cut. It tasted really great though. I had the over baked Yukon gold potatoes (vegan) and it was very good. I would have enjoyed more of the creamy and delicious red bean sauce. My husband enjoyed his mantu with a meat and vegetable stuffing and saffron chicken. Initially, our cocktails took about 15 minutes to arrive, but our wonderful server did inform us that the bartender was closing out a tab for a large party. We enjoyed our desserts and cocktails. Staff here are wonderful and welcoming and we look forward to dining here again soon.

The wine dinners are amazing. But just dining there in general is awesome. The food is some of the best in Sacramento. Made with love and care, creative, healthy, and delicious.

Our first visit to Brickland was for a Rick Kushman wine-pairing dinner ($89 for four courses, 11 wines). Pour were generous, pairings compatible and fresh, food creative, executed splendidly, generous in portion, layered in flavors; and service amiable and attentive. Rick was entertaining and informative. Owners were on hand for fine tuning. Whole evening was so alluring that we look forward to returning for a dinner off the customary menu.
