I brought my wife here for our 2 year anniversary, and I’m glad I did. The food was super delicious. I would definitely love to come back to this place again some day.
Typical cocky server who doesn't take you for full if you are not an old white dude wearing a suit..pity as the food was pretty good!
What a surprise in the heart of the city. A must for dinner.
The short rib was great! The Mexican street corn was also delicious!
I recommend their scallops with foie gras strongly.
Lovely staff and gorgeous food in a terrific setting, unfortunately it was a little overpriced
Wonderful New York steakhouse experience! The food was fantastic, the service awesome and the Filet Mignon was twice the usual size. The carrots where whole “bugs bunny” carrots and in spite of the quantity of food, no leftovers but sadly no room for dessert!.
Very standard high end steakhouse menu and pricing
I have been to several and found the quality was not proportional to the cost at this particular restaurant
Friendly staff, nice ambiance, decor not for me to form an opinion as I am pretty simple with my own decor
Made me feel very welcome and the food was amazing
Catching a concert at MSG so convenient with lovely food and service. Only downside was the noise level in the Vault room which was amplified by the very loud table behind d us screaming across the vault to other tables. Would have expected the manager to ask them to stop screaming across and to use indoor voices
The food and service and setting are so good that we will not be deterred from coming back but would ask to dine outside the noisy vault
Food and service was Incredible.
Les serveurs agressent pour avoir plus de tips sur des plats sans goût à 60$, inadmissible !
The food was bland and soulless
It was an absolute treat!
This was our first and last time at this restaurant. The place is close to MSG hence why we picked it. Overall service was very good. Food not so much. The bread was pretty, soft and warm but bland. However, to be fair if you put the spread that was served with it much better. Our appetizer: Caesar Salad has too much dressing and no “bite”. The caprese salad while the tomatoes were very good the mozzarella was tasteless. We shared the porterhouse which was served rare which was fine with us even though we said medium rare. But that was pretty good steak. The sides the potatoes were ok but the mushrooms completely tasteless. How do you have tasteless exotic mushrooms?! No thank you not going back. Not worth my time and definitely not worth the $$$!
Fantastic dinner Giovanni our server was so wonderful we were met at the door by the most lovely Hostess who is escorted us to our beautiful table the Ambiance is gloriously Old Fashioned what's up strong red palette similar in color scheme to Russian Tea Room menu is wonderful it is a bit pricey but absolutely worth it we go back here in a second next time we would try eating in the bankers vault at the change and it's wonderful to eat in a restaurant off of the wonderful 1930s retro lobby of the New Yorker Hotel
Nice place. fun to sit in the vault. It was a Wednesday night so it was quiet, just right.
Without a doubt my favourite restaurant in the world (&I travel a lot). Thiswas my second visit in a year, hopefully not my last.
Excellent food and service went to Peter Lunger in Williamsburg Friday night and enjoyed the food here much more. Offered lump crab for topping and asparagus w hollandaise sauce. Service was wonderful as well. Our waiter was very pleasant and interesting and offered wonderful food and beverage recommendations. I normally wouldn’t go to a hotel restaurant when on vacation but this was highly recommended and didn’t disappoint.
Great food, great ambiance, great staff- will certainly be back!
Delicious food and great service highly recommend it for any occasions
This is a great location for madison square garden . Staff was fantastic . Drinks were fantastic . Decor was really cool but it's missing a trendy vibe . The food was ok. The steak sashimi looked very unappealing not rare enough. Fatty and the avocado on top was turning brown. The salads were good. Steak compared to others subpar but the hash brown was spectacular ! I'd stop there for a great manhattan or cosmo before a show but for the price there are better steakhouses in NYC.
Overall experience was very good! The decor is nice: eating in a giant vault is an unique experience. Ambiance could’ve been a 5 on 5, but the disco music killed the vibe. Smooth/Jazz/Lounge music would’ve been appropriate: the place is historical and feels like the 30s. Listening to “Kung-Fu Fighting” from Carl Douglas while having a fancy dinner was annoying.
Food was excellent but pricey (thats NYC!) Filet-Mignon was cooked to perfection. Also, cocktails were amazing: barmaid looked like a pro.
Service was on point: Bussboys were attentive to detail. (Only thing disappointing, our waiter didn’t seem to want to be there: never smiling or showing enthusiasm...) (*I personally like a waiter being part of my dining experience: up-selling the food or alcohol with recommendations)
In all, will definitely go back!
4,5 on 5
Waiter was rushy, did not explain and was offended by the tip amount. Its my discretion to give a tip based on the service provided not what he thinks he should expect, especially with a below average service and overrated pricing structure on the food. Will never go back and will definatly not recommend based on this! Get your waiters in check if you are expecting your customers to pay these amount on premium food.
Great service, Great food, and will come again!
The manager was so kind and welcoming!
Simply one of the best meals I have ever experienced in any city. Not cheap but worth every cent.
The ambiance was very cool. The service was very good.
Avoid this place, the food was mediocre and overpriced
Service was slow and surly and the manager was just plain rude
Great service. Great food. Would definitely dine here again.
The service and food at the butcher and banker is without a doubt a 5 star restaurant. Compliments to the chef
Great food and atmosphere! My friend is a very "picky" enter and enjoyed her selection. Our waiter was very nice and patient. The bread is just wonderful and the veal chop is one of the best I've had. Thank-you!
It was good nothing great a step or 2 down from capital grill, keens and franks steaks on Long Island. Limited menu no lobster available to add with your steak. Loved the setting and noise level you can have a conversation with. It’s a place to go if you’re seeing something at the garden
Great place to eat. Food and service was amazing. The restaurant setting was very impressive.
My experience was that this is a medium-quality steakhouse. And given the high prices, not a great value. Next time I'm in this neighborhood, I'll look for other restaurants.
One of the best dining experiences in NYC. Top quality service, almost as outstanding as the food. Highly recommended.
Everything excellent except for the music! Very expensive though! Waiter was excellent. Take home containers need to change. They leak and don't fit in the bags.
Early dinner to catch a 7p show at The Garden. Walked into this old bank vault and loved the ambience. Hostess was attentive. Wait staff appeared to be top notch and they were. The problem was The Food. I ordered the Filet Mignon Tartare - it was presented on a plate like a pile of dog food garnished with large circles of radishes and onion rings and served with Ortega taco shells as the receptacle - seriously...it was so bland and ugly that I felt sorry for it. Zero salt....My main course was the Black and Blue Tuna Filet - again - zero seasoning - and it was tough. The shining star on the plate were the thick cut Knueske bacon strips - but why they were paired with supposedly sashimi glad tuna - could not tell you...the succotash (lima beans and corn combo) again no seasoning - but I did eat all of it because I was hungry! (having only dabbled with my appetizer...) My husband had the wedge - the bacon bits were under done (not nice and crispy) and his scallops were garnished with foie gras that was only grilled on one side. We did enjoy two bottles wine and scooted over to MSG and picked up a box of popcorn and a pretzel. So disappointed especially have read Trip Advisor reviews...was it a bad night? Was the chef out ill and someone was pinch hitting? Do not know …. Suggest a hard pass on this...
We love everything, the cappuccino was very yummy.
Food was definitely yummy and the service and ambience were lovely! Worth checking out.
