Had a great time staff are lovely food was fab thanks so much
Everything was very rushed. One of our party had a gin spilt over her and waiter kinda apologised. I wasn’t finished my gin but glass was taken by girl who brought wine. Our main waiter was good and apologised for drink spillage and taken drink.
Amazing place and service. Food is not worth it. The beef had too much fat and the side dish was poor.
My wife & I went for the lunch menu, when we arrived the menu was a lot different from what we had seen on the website, when we asked the waiter why the menu had been change he stated that on the weekends they offer brunch (this is not specified on the website,if it had been we wouldn't have gone) & also they change the menu when the kitchen is low on certain items. My wife went for the grill (one sausage,3 streaky bacon,2 small poached eggs,beans,mushrooms,1 cubed rosti & one slice of sourdough bread toasted & cut in half) I went for the fish sandwich (3-4 fish goujons on a brioche bun with Asian slaw & a side of chips) the grill was nothing special & overpriced at €16,the fish sandwich was nice & about worth its money at €14,We opted not to go for any starters or desserts as all items we originally wanted we're not on the menu.Nice place, friendly staff, but the website should specify that it's a vastly reduced/altered brunch menu on the weekends. For 2 diet cokes & 2 mains the bill came to €36.Think this will be our first & last time here unfortunately.
We had a reservation for 20:30 and were only escorted to our table at 20:52. There needs to be a better system in place to manage tables and not make clients wait for 20+mins.
I loved the old Café en Seine since it opened all those decades ago. The new one is probably more age appropriate now (I'm 48). Stunning refurb, relaxing, superb food. I probably wouldn't like it full as I like nowhere full. Will be my city centre afternoon hideout and anyone would be mad not to visit. Gives our boring entertainment capital a bit of class.
Great eatery w lovely crew: Courteous & very eager 2 please & make feel welcome. Moderate pricing & interesting varieties of local offerings & different plating options. Overall a nice, modern spot 2 relax & enjoy delicacies!
From our welcome when we first arrived to when we finished our meal, everything was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their starters, mains and dessert which made for an enjoyable night. Our waiters were very informative and welcoming too. Thank you for making my birthday that little bit special.
Good was amazing. Great atmosphere. When booking online I had requested 3 glasses of Prosecco for our party which was confirmed by the lady who rang me on sat to confirm our reservation however we did not receive this on arrival and I had to ask the waiter for this after awhile. He then brought out only one glass of Prosecco. Overall experience was good. Food is great!
Went here last Saturday evening. Food excellent and was able to share everything tapas style but lots of food so didn’t leave hungry. Very reasonable for the amount of food and drink we had. Service good, atmosphere great. Totally recommended!
the food was great!! the guy who served our table was brilliant and fast!
Staff were friendly, warm and overall very accommodating! Food was amazing and even more enjoyable with their new decor !
Good food, high energy (but not too loud) atmosphere and beautiful decor. The Moroccan lamb for two didn’t disappoint and could easily been share amongst three people. Would definitely recommend.
Menu was very limited, is it tapas or not? Was very loud, restaurant was half in the bar with people constantly walking through with drinks.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Lively buzz. Central location.
Overall good service but we felt the waiter was always trying to upsell unnecessarily which was very off putting.
High quality food at a reasonable price in a delightful setting
Was my first time in since the renovation. Was well worth the trip. Food, cocktails and atmosphere were great. Staff were so polite and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit
Great food and ambience..would recommend
Very good food especially the duck wings!!!
It was grand...
My Server Jithin was wonderful - he struck the right balance between attentiveness/ space and time to enjoy the wonderful lunch!
Nice atmosphere and food was good as they offer small plates as well as main courses. Staff were excellent
Not extraordinary.. just normal. I was expecting a bit more.
I'd go back for a drink but definitely not to eat. I found the food significantly more expensive than its quality or portions merited. And the seating (at the side, just inside the front door off Dawson St) was wholly non-atmospheric - very corridor-like.
Gorgeous setting , but pity there was no lunch menu , we left after coffee because , 12pm was a bit early for the dinner menu, but other then that fab venue
Second Visit Went back for a second visit and what a disappointment. We ordered the burger which was dry and overcooked, and the fish which was the smallest portion served in something that looked like dishwater with one or two vegetables floating in it and nothing else. Very bad value for money. The excuse that we are only newly opened is wearing a bit thin………
1st Visit Was very excited when we saw Cafe en Seine had reopened. Booked a table for Friday last. The refurb is stunning and well worth a visit. We ordered Crab in brioche, black pudding, sausage rolls and Mac n cheese all were beautiful, the mac n cheese could have been a little hotter, and we waited 30 minutes after ordering before food was brought out. even though it was not that busy. The Ladies loos were disappointing and many of them were dirty looked as if they had not been cleaned since the day before. When we got the bill We had been charged for two of the more expensive rums when I had specifically asked for the cheapest one on the menu. This was disappointing and annoying. Overall it was a very pleasant lunch very friendly and attentive staff. Booked for lunch again before leaving.
Good experience. The revamp looks great. Service a bit hit and miss but to be expected as just reopen. Food was exceptional for a bar. Definitely recommend.
I was thoroughly disappointed in the food, service and drinks. We initially ordered 2 cocktails, one came out completely watered down, I asked if they could add a little more bitters and in fairness they remade it and it was fine. When the second attempt was brought to the table the server didn't even wait to ask if it was OK, they just walked off. The food was the biggest disappointment - the tartare was soggy and flavourless, the tuna sashimi had no flavour and was tough to bite, the charred cabbage was greasy - the duck wings were OK in comparison to everything else. It's a shame after such an overhaul of the property that they aren't able to bring the food up to par with the decor.
No vegetarian option for main course. Very small selection on the starter menu for vegetarians. No vegan options at all. Very poor for a new menu.
Excellent atmosphere, great food, great service. My new overseas employers came in to town and we had lunch - both they and I were very impressed with Cafe en Seine
I booked to dine here for Sunday lunch last Sunday. I booked the last lunch booking on opentable for 2.45pm. When I arrived I was seated by the door which isn't a very pleasant position and some people who came after us asked to be moved. We were seated with a different menu that was the dinner menu. When the waitress came to take our order, we told her we were going to have the sharing plates. She highly recommended the beef croquettes and we told her we hadn't seen those on the menu. She then looked at our menu and realized we didn't have the lunch menu and I queried this with her. She went to speak to management and came back and said she couldn't offer us the lunch menu as it was just going on 3 and as this was a soft opening, the kitchen wouldn't be able to cater for this. I expressed our disappointment. She then stated that they were only offering the dinner menu all day which was contradictory to what she had just told us. As it was my friends birthday, I didn't want to make an even bigger fuss and we said we would just order. We ordered 4 sharing plates with 2 sides and 2 coke zeros. Our waitress returned with 2 diet cokes and I asked had she coke zero to which she replied she didn't. The food was very average and the portions tiny - sharing plates but only 3 things per plate when they arrived which meant we had 1 and a half bits each. We ordered the duck wings were the nicest, the black pudding sausage rolls were lovely also, unfortunately the prawns were overcooked, and we also had the steak tartare which was average at best. Our sides were the fries and carbonara mac and cheese which we enjoyed. We asked for the bill which came and when I asked for the card machine, we were left sitting for 25 minutes while the waitress took card payments from a huge group sitting nearby. Eventually, the male manager noticed us sitting there and brought over a card machine. To say we were disappointed and underwhelmed is an overstatement.
Loved the refurb at cafe en Seine fun atmosphere and the staff were fantastic! I need to go back to try out the cocktails :)
The place is great! Liked it before it was done up but love it now!
Food was delicious! The service was great, some familiar faces who were as good as ever
Main bar/drinks area had a great atmosphere, dining area not as much but well lit for eating.
Very happy with the service, it’s a brilliant place perfect all together would recommend to anyone.
Recommended by a friend and not disappointed. Entrance looks very ordinary then opens out into pretty magnificent 4 stories around a courtyard. Excellent music, but a bit loud, even on upper floors if you want quiet conversation. Staff delightful
The wine list was unimaginative and overpriced. My pudding, a gin and tonic cheesecake, did not taste of gin and tonic and had an unpleasant gel like topping. Meat courses generally good.
We have great time thank you so much for having us
Great venue and service but food very dissapointing
