Gorgeous setting , but pity there was no lunch menu , we left after coffee because , 12pm was a bit early for the dinner menu, but other then that fab venue
Was very excited when we saw Cafe en Seine had reopened. Booked a table for Friday last. The refurb is stunning and well worth a visit. We ordered Crab in brioche, black pudding, sausage rolls and Mac n cheese all were beautiful, the mac n cheese could have been a little hotter, and we waited 30 minutes after ordering before food was brought out. even though it was not that busy. The Ladies loos were disappointing and many of them were dirty looked as if they had not been cleaned since the day before. When we got the bill We had been charged for two of the more expensive rums when I had specifically asked for the cheapest one on the menu. This was disappointing and annoying. Overall it was a very pleasant lunch very friendly and attentive staff. Booked for lunch again before leaving.
Good experience. The revamp looks great. Service a bit hit and miss but to be expected as just reopen. Food was exceptional for a bar. Definitely recommend.
I was thoroughly disappointed in the food, service and drinks. We initially ordered 2 cocktails, one came out completely watered down, I asked if they could add a little more bitters and in fairness they remade it and it was fine. When the second attempt was brought to the table the server didn't even wait to ask if it was OK, they just walked off. The food was the biggest disappointment - the tartare was soggy and flavourless, the tuna sashimi had no flavour and was tough to bite, the charred cabbage was greasy - the duck wings were OK in comparison to everything else. It's a shame after such an overhaul of the property that they aren't able to bring the food up to par with the decor.
No vegetarian option for main course. Very small selection on the starter menu for vegetarians. No vegan options at all. Very poor for a new menu.
Excellent atmosphere, great food, great service. My new overseas employers came in to town and we had lunch - both they and I were very impressed with Cafe en Seine
I booked to dine here for Sunday lunch last Sunday. I booked the last lunch booking on opentable for 2.45pm. When I arrived I was seated by the door which isn't a very pleasant position and some people who came after us asked to be moved. We were seated with a different menu that was the dinner menu. When the waitress came to take our order, we told her we were going to have the sharing plates. She highly recommended the beef croquettes and we told her we hadn't seen those on the menu. She then looked at our menu and realized we didn't have the lunch menu and I queried this with her. She went to speak to management and came back and said she couldn't offer us the lunch menu as it was just going on 3 and as this was a soft opening, the kitchen wouldn't be able to cater for this. I expressed our disappointment. She then stated that they were only offering the dinner menu all day which was contradictory to what she had just told us. As it was my friends birthday, I didn't want to make an even bigger fuss and we said we would just order. We ordered 4 sharing plates with 2 sides and 2 coke zeros. Our waitress returned with 2 diet cokes and I asked had she coke zero to which she replied she didn't. The food was very average and the portions tiny - sharing plates but only 3 things per plate when they arrived which meant we had 1 and a half bits each. We ordered the duck wings were the nicest, the black pudding sausage rolls were lovely also, unfortunately the prawns were overcooked, and we also had the steak tartare which was average at best. Our sides were the fries and carbonara mac and cheese which we enjoyed. We asked for the bill which came and when I asked for the card machine, we were left sitting for 25 minutes while the waitress took card payments from a huge group sitting nearby. Eventually, the male manager noticed us sitting there and brought over a card machine. To say we were disappointed and underwhelmed is an overstatement.
Loved the refurb at cafe en Seine fun atmosphere and the staff were fantastic! I need to go back to try out the cocktails :)
The place is great! Liked it before it was done up but love it now!
Food was delicious! The service was great, some familiar faces who were as good as ever
Main bar/drinks area had a great atmosphere, dining area not as much but well lit for eating.
Very happy with the service, it’s a brilliant place perfect all together would recommend to anyone.
Recommended by a friend and not disappointed. Entrance looks very ordinary then opens out into pretty magnificent 4 stories around a courtyard. Excellent music, but a bit loud, even on upper floors if you want quiet conversation. Staff delightful
The wine list was unimaginative and overpriced. My pudding, a gin and tonic cheesecake, did not taste of gin and tonic and had an unpleasant gel like topping. Meat courses generally good.
We have great time thank you so much for having us
Great venue and service but food very dissapointing
The best music and dance floor. Always nice staff. I celberated my birthday in cafe ein seine and I was excited of food, fun, music.
We were so disappointed with this visit. The restaurant was like a pop up venue. Bright lighting and the darts on tv. This was a special occasion for us so we left before ordering.
Given the reputation of Cafe en Seine, we were disappointed. The experience was more like an office canteen than a restaurant, and this was also true of the food. I can't imagine any reason why we'd ever eat here. But the bar is great.
Had a lovely afternoon with 9 business partners, excellent spot., not very expensive for the afternoon. Food was great., all agreed
Fantastic location, good service, vibrant atmosphere, food and music under one roof
Lovely food. Great service. Delightful cocktails...............::.........:.
Arranged as a birthday treat. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and whole experience. Excellent service throughout, topped off by huge sparkler for the 'Birthday Girl'. Must be seen to be believed.
Absolutely beautiful venue with lovely ambiance. Staff were lovely but service was very slow. TV screen and disco music were annoying and did not fit with surroundings. Food was disappointing and overpriced for what it was. Cocktails were delicious! Would just go for drinks next time. Definitely worth a visit just for thrill of walking in!
The waiter was very direct and was not welcoming. Food was not great at all! Lacking in flavour and not many options for the platters. The cocktails were amazing!
We really enjoyed our night - the food was delicious and good value, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful all night. Good vibe and lovely cocktails.
Saturday night was insane. Loud and crazy, so we ate somewhere else. Went back for Sunday Brunch and soft jazz. It was great. If you're over 40 skip Saturday and go Sunday
Very nice food but took very long to come. The waitress nearly fainted when people at the table asked to split the bill. Begged to give her the 10% extre fee. Nearly kicked us out of the table because she needed to clean it up. Lovely scenario with nice food but very poor service. Definetely not going back!
Food was the most mediocre of my 3 week trip; price was not commensurate. chowder was worse than from a can. Got sucked in by building and decor but clearly geared toward capturing tourist dollar.
Cocktails and pre "Ennio Moricone concert"dinner in the opulent Cafe en Seine provided us with superb waiter service alongside excellent cocktails and great food This is one of Dublins finest We certainly will recommend and most importantly return Thank you 😊
Could have been so good! Despite the food being fairly average, they have gone to an immense effort with the decor to creat a themed resturant. And then a gone a put big sports screens in, which are not only totally out of place and unwelcome, they are so far up in the air that I doubt they even work effectively as sports screens. Had taken a group of six other friends there as it looked kind of cool, but the screens completely ruined it for us.
Very original place in heart of Dublin, definitely worth to go to try a delicious food and listen good music.
Beautiful venue, just found the door staff unnecessarily intimidating and aggressive with their manner when we first arrived at the venue. Didnt expect that welcome
Steak was poorly cooked and bad cuts of meat. Expected better for the prices. Noisy place.
Very enjoyable dinner for 4 of us on Friday evening. Nice simple menu with good choices (nice comfort food!). Fab chuncky chips. Lovey waiting staff. Nice athmosphere... felt like "being out" even though we weren't have a late night or cocktails! Will visit again for longer evening!
Cafe en Seine was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy that it was. This is absolutely a hidden gem in Dublin that I recommend everyone try. The staff was great, the drinks were A+++, and the food was even better. More than that, the interior of the restaurant was awesome! It is so much bigger inside than you can imagine from the street. It has many areas and levels of seating for dining, drinks, and also a large space in the back that becomes a nightclub/dance floor around 9 or 10 pm, overlooked by upper level dining/relaxing areas. The decoration inside is amazing and a little different in each dining area. Please go. Do it for me, do it for you haha. SO WORTH IT.
The architecture and decoration of this place is amazing. It has a great feel to it, lots of ambience. The food and service were really good as well.
The problem is the noise. We had dinner at 7:30 on a Friday evening. The restaurant had a DJ playing in the bar area downstairs. The music was SO LOUD! I like to be able to talk to my dinner companions, not shout. I don't know whose idea it was to have a DJ at such an early hour, but it really ruined a nice meal for us.
Noisy - very noisy indeed. Food in the restaurant not above standard pub level. Fatal mistake to serve white soft fish with white soft and sticky gnocchi which was Today's Special. Or perhaps the mistake was actually on our side;)
Excellent stafff and service. Atmosphere was perfect for our get together. Food was exquisite & delicious
The staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was great. Definitely will be back
We loved the fish&chips, as well as the great offer on gins. The location is amazing and the staff is very friendly, will definitely go back.
