Decent enough brunch, on the pricey side but I guess you’re paying more for the ambiance.

My first visit to this iconic venue was almost 30 years ago, so my second visit on 22/6/24 held many surprises. This innovative chameleon venue has undergone an enormous make over and refurbishment about 6 years ago. The art deco / nouveau theme is still intact but a modern twist has been added with a ‘faux cafe street’ now sitting where the dance floor and balcony once were. It still has its love story appeal, and has embraced her twentieth century makeover with grace. For me it is one of my all time favourite venues, I salute its ability to gently transform from an elegant lunch time meet to an afternoon tea delight then into a cocktail destination by early evening and a bustling night time party place until the wee small hours. We arrived as it opened at 11.30 hrs, every member of staff we encountered were professional and ensured our visit was not only a good experience but a memorable one too. The service was approximately timed, we weren’t rushed and our 2 hour lunch felt relaxed and enjoyable. My Vegan bowl comprised Quinoa & Edamame, Cabbage Slaw, Cajun Sweet Potato, Avocado, Curry Spiced Cauliflower, Ranch Dressing, Rocket, Toasted Seeds & I added Buttermilk Chicken, was an absolute delight to the taste buds. We also enjoyed eggs Royale, the Eggs were poached to perfection and enhanced with Spinach, Hash Browns, Ballycotton Smoked Salmon, Hollandaise, Rocket Salad . I liked the addition of water brought to our table without request although the faux Parisian street was something of a surprise. I didn’t figure on the make over! However the retractable roof is a novel addition which allows the outside in, which was closed as the wind picked up. It was wonderful to revisit Cafe Em Seine, although I didn’t appreciate at the time of booking my last visit was almost 30 years ago. It was interesting to have a wander and explore the new decor on the various levels. Thank you Cafe En Seine for a delicious birthday lunch and the next time I’m in Dubli

I've eaten here a few times. It never disappoints. The Gambas Pil Pil and Sea Bream are the highlights on a great menu!

I am one of your repeated lunch group customers from Trinity College. This is probably 3 or 4th time I had lunch with colleagues yesterday. To be frank, food quality this time is below par and well below our expectations (compared to my past experiences).. need to rethink before arranging my future work group lunches.

When we were seated upstairs, the four of us were placed at a small, round table that wasn't suitable for dinner and drinks. We requested to move and were relocated to the back, which was uncomfortably cold, prompting us to ask for the air conditioning to be turned off. The service was lacking; we had to request the bill twice with a considerable wait in between. The food was just okay, with the breads we ordered to graze on arriving with the mains instead. Despite booking a few weeks in advance and eagerly anticipating the atmosphere and drinks, we were completely let down. There was an event we weren't informed about that closed the downstairs area between 5-8 PM. We won't be returning anytime soon.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that your experience at Café en Seine was disappointing. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the initial seating arrangement and the uncomfortable temperature in the back area. It's also unfortunate that our service fell short, with delays in bringing your bill and the timing of your food. We should have communicated better about the event that affected the main restaurant area. Your comments are important to us and we'll use them to improve our service and guest experience. I'd be happy to discuss your visit further and see how we can put things right. Please contact me directly at alexander.kevlich@cafeenseine.ie.

Food was amazing… service was fantastic and overall ambience is gorgeous. We also weren’t expecting the place to turn into a late night cocktail bar with dance areas, which was an added bonus which we loved. Great fun and very classy..

We made a reservation not knowing it was a good reservation- the rudest waiter told us if we didn’t order food we would have to move to the bar( that would’ve been fine) I asked was there a table there as we had gone through the trouble of making a reservation- he shrugged said he didn’t know. Was very uncomfortable and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Poor service!!!!!!!! Waited for 30 minutes to get our drinks the fact that our food was already served. And waited again 30 minutes to get our bills. Not happy at all.
