I had the beef enchiladas. They were tasty but very salty. Service was slow but I believe they are understaffed, however the young lady that served us took a long time to check on our status and at the time there were maybe 10 other people being served with their own waiters. So staffing shouldn't have been a problem so I am guessing new employee. I loved the Sangria here and my wife like her Mojito. Prices are reasonable and they give enough food that you will have enough for a lunch the next day so overall I give this place a strong 4, they really need to lighten up on the salt in the food.

Table of 4 - each of us had different items. All dinners were delicious, and the guacamole (made at the table) was super! Service was excellent ~ our waitress was pleasant, held nice conversation, and smiled, which makes a dining experience very pleasant. We have eaten here before, and each experience was a good one. There is a bar, outside dining and inside dining too.

We split fajitas for our dinner. I don’t like guacamole, but my wife does, so the waitress said she could put the guacamole in a separate container. We were charged $1.25 extra for that. It is not the amount money, it is the principle. She should have told us there would be an up charge and she did not.

We ordered the queso and the guacamole to go with our chips and salsa…our server made the guacamole table side and the queso was great…not your run of the mill processed cheese dip!! All our main courses were delicious…the Baja fish tacos got an A+, my mom loved her chimichanga, but said it was a little too spicy for her palate…and my nephew inhaled his chicken burrito and swore he’d be back soon! Our server was attentive and the patio was a great place to hang!

Arrived on Easter Sunday for dinner with a reservation. We were greeted by the manager and he informed us they only had one waiter and one cook. We were then seated and our waiter came over and introduced himself Brian L We had Excellent service and food. We understand with staff shortages some patrons can be rude. Just wanted to say thank you and we appreciate your hard work We will definitely return. Thanks again

We were seated quickly which was great for our group. Drinks took a long time to come from the bar. We had lots of chips and salsa while we waited. It took a long time for our food to come out. The food was alright, not the best I’ve had but also not the worst. When all was said and done we were there for 2 hours for a party of 7. My husband summed it up, Mexican is usually quick and cheap and this was neither. It was $70 for 2 adult meals, 1 kids meal, and 4 house margaritas.

Enjoyable Friday night with friends. First visit to Cantina 1511. Best Mexican I’ve had in Mooresville since moving here last summer. Good margs, a little sweet, could’ve used another squeeze of lime juice. I had the chimichanga with ground beef. Huge portion, filling was nicely seasoned and not dried out like sometimes happens with chimis. My husband had beef fajitas and really enjoyed them. Good amount of meat and nice mix of grilled veggies too. Because of the avocado issues right now, amount of guac with entrees was skimpy, but I’m willing to overlook as it’s not restaurant’s fault. Prices were a little steep for Mexican, probably due to supply chain and staffing issues. Will see how that goes once things settle down. Overall a nice night out with friends. FYI, We went around 6 pm and wasn’t crowded, by the time we left around 7:30 there were quite a few people waiting to be seated.

Loved the atmosphere but food was average and service was poor. We have been here for the two previous restaurants in the same building. We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant with the online menu showing lots of choices for food and drinks. We were seated immediately. We asked what we wanted for a drink and were only given the option of a margarita or sangria. We were confused due to the fact that we could see the fully stocked bar. We ordered one of each and were disappointed to receive a premixed margarita and boxed sangria at a higher price. We waited 20 minutes before our food order was placed. Once receiving the food, our waitress asked if we then wanted corn or flour tortillas with it. We thought it was odd that it didn't come out all together but simply said corn would be fine. Twenty minutes later, we finally decided to flag someone down to ask for our corn tortillas so we could eat our meal. The food was like any other Americanized Mexican restaurant. We were very disappointed to pay more for the same food we have gotten elsewhere and to also receive poor service.

Server was in way over his head. No attention to details such as empty glasses to refill, dealing with patrons in order as they were seated, not making excuses of lack of coverage. Had to go to another server repeatedly. On the other hand, the food is some of the best we’ve had at any restaurant. Schedule your prime-time crew much better.

We love Cantina 1511. Closest thing to 'real' Mexican food here in Lake Norman. Nice people and very responsive. We love the patio as its a bit more chill than inside. We will return over and over for our guacamole, queso, margarita and taco fix!

The food used to be great, but honestly both of us were not impressed with our dinner. We ordered chips and queso to start. This isn’t a huge thing, but not a great start when the chips that were brought out were basically a bunch of crumbs and the waitress never asked if she could get us more. I ordered a Moscow Mule, which I get frequently and I don’t think I drank more than half of it. I ordered the tortilla soup, which has been a favorite for more than 10 years. It always comes with a couple of slices of avocado, this one did not. The soup was warm, but not hot and wasn’t as good as it’s always been. It was fairly salty. For dinner I ordered the carne asada quesadilla and it almost tasted like the meat was bad. I took a few bites and that was it. The Hubs got an enchilada, which is has always loved in the past, but said it had very little flavor. We probably will not return.

I think they are suffering from the same staff shortages that a lot of restaurants are. Also I think most of the servers were working outside tables which seemed to be in demand while we were eating inside. The server helping us was very nice but I think she had more tables than normal. Food was good and there was a lot of it. The quacamole that was made tableside was not as good as I had hoped. Not horrible or anything like that but it was missing something. We’ll be back at some future date.

We waited for our table we reserved for about 10-15 min after we arrived. Once we were seated outside as requested, our server was very sweet however they were very slow getting to us after we finished eating. When we went to pay someone had accidentally already closed out. There was some back and forth with the manager and he decided since someone rang us up we didn’t need to pay. We asked how much the bill was to at least tip he said there was already a tip left. We left a tip for our waitress anyway but it was a very strange experience overall.

Both the dinner and the margaritas were average at best. It doesn't match up well with Don Pedro and certainly not with many of the smaller restaurants in the area like La Unica and others. Not so much that there was something wrong with it, just that so many others get it better and get it right.

Our server was busy but maybe said a total of 10 words the whole visit. Drink had flies in it, pours are uneven per drink, and food subpar. Won’t be going back.
