Birthday meal with my daughter. Service was slick. My starter was ok mozzarella sticks. Her Hot Dog was great and my Philly cheese steak was amazing. Didn’t stay for desert as she wanted a cone. Overall still a great place. Doing their best under exceptional circumstances

This is not my first time in Captain America’s I’ve been a few times before but this time was very disappointing. Music was very loud it was difficult to hear my friends talking, the food was not that great. I understand the current situation we are in is tough but the service was shocking. Felt ignored by the servers they walked past our table multiple times saw our glasses were nearly empty and never offered another drink we had to ask for them to take our order which I hate having to do because I feel rude doing it. Then when we were leaving we asked could we pay separately and the waiter said “I was hoping you wouldn’t say that” not even in a sarcastic tone it was just quite rude. Didn’t feel very welcomed & I wouldn’t rush back anyways.

We ordered onion rings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks and a tofu dog which came with fries. It was very quiet with only 3 other tables. 25 minutes after we ordered the waitress let us know they were out of tofu dogs, we decided just to replace it with another side of onion rings. Our food came out but without fries as they were part of the meal with the tofu dog but we were never told we wouldn't be getting them either since the tofu dog was out of stock, we didn't realise this or we would have ordered them separately. When the food came we didn't bother reordering the fries. The mozzarella sticks used to be amazing there but they must have changed them because now you get 4 smaller ones instead of 2 larger ones and they're not as nice. The batter on the onion rings was far too thick and so wasn't crispy especially in the middle where it was very stodgy. Over all it was fine but a bit disappointing really.

Had a great night at Captain America's on Grafton St. The food & ambience were very nice and our waitress was very helpful & efficient. One small complaint would be that I got the chicken tenders with fries & found the portion of fries a little small compared to the chicken. But other than that I enjoyed it a lot, as did the people I was there with.

Some not all staff wearing masks, the seating at the front of the restaurant was quite crowded still, thought there would be more space between tables with Covid. When I asked for ketchup I was given a sharing bottle of it.....I believe it should be in sachets now, one of the safety precautions restaurants are meant to take. No sharing of anything between customers.

No issue with the food, it was just what we wanted.

Hi thanks so much for the review we are so happy that you enjoyed the food, all of our staff are encouraged to wear masks but it is currently not mandatory for them to do so, all of our tables are a minimum of 1 meter apart which is following guidelines and our booths have perplex glass between them. All bottles and menus are sanitized with the recommended products after every single sitting. However we really do appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon. Thanks Captain Americas

Went here with my boyfriend and we both really enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Our food was very tasty and we loved the option of getting a pitcher of beer/cider. We will definitely be back and I have already recommended it to my friends. Very happy with our experience! 😊

The food was awful the chicken tenders was rock hard and barley had chicken on them, the restaurant Is MANKY it needs a good scrub! The staff was fine but over all it’s a smelly kip and should be shut down for cleaning reasons I wouldn’t ever return and I was with a party of 8 and they all said the same.

Iconic restaurant in the heart of city center. Very friendly efficient staff and service. Food was top quality but small portions. €3.95 for side of chips and a very small portion (handfull), along with a burger for €14.95, you would expect the chips to be included for the price. Well able to charge for the experience. Overpriced Pub grub which can be found in decent pubs around the country. Judge roy beans for example.

Hi Rob, Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. Just wondering was it a separate order of fries also because all our burgers come with chips, baked potato or side salad for 14.95. Best Regards, Jurgen

Very well organised "covid safety" wise. All necessary steps have been taken to keep customers & staff safe. Menu a bit limited. Sause on ribs totally changed. Personally not as nice.

Food was great until it came to the bill. We were presented with a menu and I specifically chose from the set menu which was accepted.

When I went to pay, I was told this was not available due to a head office dictat. This was not advised and the menu provided clearly had the option (it is easy to tape over items not available).

This soured an otherwise enjoyable experience

Staff were lovely and very apologetic and kind however the standard of food was dreadful. We ordered the chicken nachos which were cold and the cheese was hard the chicken was prepackaged cold chicken and it came with no extras like guacamole or sour cream for the price of the nachos this is residuals. We also ordered enchilada it was ice cold and looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The food came in less than 10 mins clearly showing it was all premed and nothing fresh. After we arrived and sat down we were told that 1/2 the items on the menu were not avadable and there were little drink options I would have liked to have been told this before taking our seats. I left feeling I had wanted my money as we ate none of the food and would appreciate money back!

Ok let’s start seeing as everyone was working to time no ones fault . From the time we arrived 2 other tables were seated after and served before normally not a problem I have to crab a staff members attention again normally would not be a problem. We both ordered burgers with fries however the fries were very scarce and look a little skinny it was my wife’s birthday so when asked is everything ok I said yes again not wanting an issue on wife birthday. So let’s sum up by saying I have had better days in captain Americas .

Top notch food. I’m obsessed with potato skins and these are RIGHT up there. My girlfriend got the cheesy garlic bread and said it was quality too. For main I had the pizza with pepperoni and bacon. Was much bigger than I anticipated and I couldn’t finish it but it was lovely. My girlfriend had the chicken wings and said they were right up there with the best she’s had. We had a few cocktails which were lovely too. We left the place absolutely stuffed. It is expensive tho so be prepared if you’re going. For both of our meals plus 2 cocktails each it came to about 85 quid. The service is very good but because they’re so busy you have to flag them down. I had no issue with that at all and staff are very helpful when you do flag them down. Food came out very quick too which is always appreciated.
