   I was super excited to be visiting Casoni again after several years as a friend once said it was like her Nona’s cooking, which is high praise indeed, and we had loved our first experience. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. We had a 6.30 booking on a Thursday but were surprised to find the restaurant empty. A few tables joined but it was still pretty quiet. The salami and focaccia were a nice start, but the crab pasta had way too much chilli and the ragu was average. I was looking forward to trying the semi freddo but was told the chef said it wasn’t available. As they weren’t busy I can only assume it hadn’t been made that day. Overall I was disappointed with the experience and really hope they can get back on track.

   We enjoyed the meal and were very well looked after by Reuben The only criticism is that the wines were very expensive and that there was a limited amount of Australian inexpensive wines on the list The cost of the wines would put us off returning although we enjoyed the food

   Sorry Casoni. I’d read a number of great reviews, but you just didn’t deliver. We were the last reservation of the night at 8:30pm and the place was empty. Could not add an extra person via open table, and the restaurant wasn’t answering the phone at 8pm, despite not being busy at all. I will give credit that the food was quick once ordered, but it was not amazing. Oysters were Luke warm, wine glass was dirty, had to ask for napkins, server poured the smallest glass of wine I think I’ve ever seen at a restaurant - twice. The crab pasta had so many chilis it was almost inedible. I definitely can see why people would like this place, if it was lively, if the servers were on point, but it really just felt like they were trying to get us out as quick as possible. Perhaps don’t book 8:30pm tables if you can’t provide the same service you would to earlier reservations.

   The ratings on Google were good but we were a little disappointed with the service from the main waiter, and there was a lack of knowledge about the menu and wines to compliment. Music throughout the night was loud and a very random mix that also didn’t suit the vibe. Meals were delicious though! A bit slow to come out. But worth the wait I think.

    We were greeted tentatively and the service was not very professional. The pasta dishes were tasty but expensive. My partner could see into the kitchen and gained the impression that that appeared to be even less professional. I strongly recommend that Casoni lifts its game by being much more professional in everything it does.

    Terrible service. We had the reservation at 7:30pm and ends up having a seat at 8:15pm. Once inside the restaurant, we don’t have the menu, no one cares we are sitting inside, and wait for 1 hour for just the appetiser and the wine only. The staff told us they miss the order. Horrible service. Never coming back again.

    Went for valentine’s day with a set menu of 90 dollars per person. The food was really good, but there were huge delays between each serve (over half an hour). There was a bad vibe in the restaurant when many tables decided to leave due to not being served. Even tap water didn’t get to the tables promptly. Such a shame because the location is great and the food deliriously made. They might be under staffed, or there might be another problem, not sure what it is.

    My husband and I were really looking forward to trying Casoni. Unfortunately waited two hours for mains and was not offered any compensation. The food was also of low quality and likely prepared quickly as our order was forgotten. Staff were not accommodating and often had to ask for help 2 or 3 times for the same thing (e.g. table water). Tables also too close together - ambiance not very pleasant.

    Staff seemed inexperienced, no bar tender to make cocktails, even an aperol spritz was too hard. Menu has been slashed significantly since I last went so the classics like the garlic bread are gone. A real shame to see if decline like this, it was a local icon for many years

    Arrived early for a 9 o'clock reservation and asked to get drinks and a few items to eat quickly so the kitchen wouldn't have to stay open late. While we waited, no water was provided. We were content to wait because we believed our beverages were on the way and were aware of the busyness. After 30 minutes of being ignored, I thought raising my hand to order food would get the waitress's attention who was wearing glasses. It was obvious that turning a small table was not their top priority for the evening. Disappointed because we really enjoyed it the last time we visited. Something has altered and can now be easily remedied with a more accommodating approach towards reservations.

    I can appreciate the restaurant was having a few technical issues but the man running the place was pouring Prosecco into peoples open mouths - unhygienic and just kind of foul.

    The food and service were amazing. The seating near the Kitchen/Washing up area needs to be revisited. Otherwise highly recommend trying Casoni out!

    Waitress was delightful and there's a cool vibe we have been there before, however the size of the food for the price is wild. Salad (3 pieces of lettuce and some grain) $18... 1/3 tiny portion of sea bass $36. Im understanding of inflation but its a bit much :(

    Menu is "made to share" which means very small portions - which is unusual for pasta. Be ready to spend $100 just on food if you want to leave not hungry.

    We went for the pasta since there were only two mains and were told the menu was suited to sharing. We ordered 3 entrees and 4 pasta dishes for 4 of us but it was nowhere near enough. The wines were also $$$$. Most over $100 Cocktails were great.

    Great location midweek and in Spring/Summer. The fish was special and delicately cooked. Having said that it was priced on the high side. I guess have to get understand that the cost of fresh ingredients is on the rise.
