We were lucky to get the table on the mezzanine level which provided a cosy atmosphere for two as there were two large parties dining at the same time. Despite being in a semi private space, the staff were very attentive and the service and timing of he two courses fitted in well for the 2 hour runaround time which was communicated both when we had to reconfirm the booking and when we arrived. Duck roti for starters was a substantial portion to share but we managed it! Similar to an aromatic duck pancake, this was prepared for us with. Light touch of hoisin sauce so the flavour of the meat and vegetables shine through. My usual king prawn in green curry was even more spectacular than usual and the rendang beef was rich and meaty served in a bowl with its own heat source. No room for desserts and overall a wonderful, quirky Thai restaurant which has become my secret London go to venue.
Tasty food but the curry is served on a flat plate that makes it hard to eat and it is quite overpriced for what you get.
great atmosphere, good food, perfect location! recommended.
The dishes were excellent.
The Massaman curry is just like a high quality restuarant you'd find in Thailand.
Excellent, friendly service and great decor. Would definitely reccomend for couples
A fantastic Thaï fresh food with its unique atmosphere. I enjoyed the food and place to eat.
Not very authentic Thai food. Really odd dishes and a totally unnecessary banana bread served before a very generously portioned meal. I will stick with just regular authentic Thai restaurants next time. I will not be rushing back there any time soon.
Had our 2nd great meal here in 2 weeks. Big group of 6 but we were superbly looked after and the food was just as amazing as last time. Great service - nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend the seafood - outstanding.
Lovely food and ambience, plenty of vegan options, good value.
Not our first visit and just as successful, great food and atmosphere (loved the green butternut curry). It get's quite busy and the staff has their hands full. After we finished our mains we were left on our own for quite a bit. No complaints, but it did mean we left without ordering dessert. But we will be back and we do recommend!
Great food and great service, lovely little restaurant, good for lunch or dinner
We went to Champor Champor on a busy Saturday night and were seated in a small side room with just 2 tables. In spite of being tucked away, we received great service and the ambience was good. The food, wine and cocktails were fantastic - we had a range of seafood, vegetarian and meat dishes. Portion sizes were great and overall we felt it was good value. I would definitely recommend.
amazing food, friendly people, cozy location, loved it
Absolutely amazing food and relaly friendly staff, cannot recommend enough, although make sure you book as it gets so busy!!
The restaurant was packed, following a debate at the theatre opposite. Once we managed to wade through the queue, we were seated in a charming, tiny room downstairs, which suited our party of 5 ideally, as we wanted to discuss what we had just heard. We were not neglected, eventually discovering that our room was just next to the kitchen. The food we chose was largely imaginative and well executed, though I sense that the chef is better at fish and veggie dishes than meat ones (king river prawns were exceptional). The banana bread complimentary starter was also yummy. Good Thai beer rounded off our choices, though there were fairly priced wines on offer too. Staff were charming and patient, especially given how packed the restaurant was. We would return, should we find ourselves nearby again.
champor is always delicious! totally worth the wait.
Really nice food and great decor. It's full, which says a lot, and you can see why. Had the table for two hours although in the end that was flexible, which was a good job because the service started well but became a problem - I think because we were sat in the corner . We had to go work very hard to get anyone's attention from after we'd been given our main courses, and we had collect our own dessert menu and go up to pay at the counter. Still a really nice evening though and would definitely recommend the place.
The menu continues to be interesting, my vegetarian friend and me had 2 vegan dishes and declared the banana curry a triumph. Tables are quite small, it was cozy but we fitted!
Disappointing evening at Champor Champor. Table by the door. Service was very disorganised - about 5 different people coming to the table - have you ordered? Do you want a drink? Asking again and again but it still took about 4 times of asking to get the drinks. Food wasn’t for sharing. Individual dishes okay but nothing more. Beef rendang curry very over-cooked. Quite expensive for not great quality.
My old favourite. Been visiting for many years. Love the creative menu and delicious flavours.
Fabulous food and service . Dined downstairs in their room - perfect for 6 of us. Excellent evening
The restaurant was very hot and the temperature should be regulated to the comfort of the guests.
Lively for a Tuesday night. Food very good but we chose dishes that were wee bit heavy. Nice white wine ( Viognier ) and overall good value.
This was our first visit and quite a find. We liked the quirky atmosphere and decor and enjoyed an excellent meal.
Went for our anniversary dinner, excellent service, staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, we would definitely recommend this restaurant
Food was tasty but too spicey, not advertised as such. Service inconsistent—some of the waiters were attentive and lovely, others unsmiling and offhand.
Excellent food. Real quality. Good service and decent wine list. What's not to like
Introduced another friend to what is becoming my secret London restaurant. Quirky surroundings with efficient service coupled with great food. All the ingredients for a fabulous evening. We even had room for desserts and can highly recommend the chocolate chilli cheesecake! Separate menus for different but allergies impressed my friend who will be coming back!
We were put on a table at the back where all the waitstaff kept huddling round. Food was a bit bland
Love this place. Always buzzing, amazing aromas and the food is wonderful. We were reminded several
Times we only had table for two hours (we know!) but I guess they are so busy that want to make sure everyone is super clear on that point :)
Amazing food but we were stuck up on this elevated window seat which meant any time we wanted anything we had to go down and ask as they never came up to ask if we wanted to order food/any more drinks
Lovely food, more fusion than authentic Thai / Malay. I had the Beef Rendang and my partner the Massaman Lamb both of which were lovely, though rather expensive for what they were. Service was good. Quite a few passive aggressive signs around about leaving valuables which was a little off-putting...
Had a really nice meal here for my partners birthday, it was busy so slightly slow on service but nothing major, good food and drinks had a good time here.
Great service and food and all reasonably priced, would highly recommend
First and foremost, the food at Champor Champor is out of this WORLD! It was absolutely delicious, and the waiters were so helpful with their recommendations on what sides we should get, and how spicy things are... if they warn you it's spicy... they mean it! The only niggles we had were that we were seated right by the dumbwaiter (the food lift) and it makes a really annoying buzzing every time the food arrived. I think if you were sat on the other side of the restaurant you might not have heard it, but it we heard it every time and it was very grating. Other than that, and the standing customers trying to get a table, it was a lovely evening.
Try and book the table on the mezzanine level. It made the perfect setting for a special birthday meal. Starters of duck in roti was divine and scallops were topped off with crispy green apple with sharp chilli sauce. Main course do prawn and chicken thigh in green curry was impressive looking. Despite minimal sauce, it was actually enough for this sauce fiend. Service was attentive and friendly and the usually hot area was serviced with a fan so all good.
This was my second visit to Champor Champor in as many weeks and it did not disappoint! The food is fresh, flavoursome and substantial - perfect for a date, birthday, or just catching up with friends. Will keep recommending. Love the authenticity!
Very good quality food in a pleasant and unusually decorated dining room. Waiting staff disappeared for the second half of our meal and the price was on the expensive side, but all the dishes we had were excellent. Great for vegans and vegetarians!
Authentic flavours nice ambience and good location
Very nice food in an unusual setting. Good service too.
Small restaurant close to London Bridge station. Thai/Malay fusion
Service was friendly and prompt, decor in keeping with the food
The highlight was the food clearly made with care and attention the green curries prawn and chicken were excellent not your usual bowl of sauce rather a presentation of food with enough sauce to dip
Truly excellent meal highly recommended
