At the head of our team is Gerry Fitzpatrick – part of the famous Fitzpatrick restaurant and greengrocer family, who have spent more than 75 years building a network of Irish producers and suppliers.

My partner ordered steak and it was tough informed the waiter and he just laughed and did nothing so wouldn't go back for that reason

We had a really lovely evening. The waiting staff were great, especially Joe. Delicious food in beautiful surroundings. We will be looking forward to returning and have recommended Chequer Lane to many people already since last Friday ⭐️

Delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is in a great location if you're out shopping for the day! The Sunday roast was really good, a lovely selection on the menu, something for everyone. Our server was really pleasant and helpful. A great experience all round!

Service was extremely slow, and even then waiter forgot small details like sugar or spoons, food was very average and needed to wait for very long to be served. We were seated 10 min later than our booking which is less than ideal with kids and at the end they couldn’t locate my coat for almost 10 min. So overall I felt very unimpressed and wouldn’t return.

We had such an enjoyable experience. When I made the booking I booked for 2 instead of 3. The staff were so accommodating & organised a table for us promptly & without any problems. The manager & all the front of house staff were outstanding. Service was exceptional . The food and wine were delicious . Overall we had a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back . Highly recommended

After 2 enjoyable visits, 3rd was not so good. Soup took 35min to arrive was delicious but like warm. Mains were slow to arrive also with waiter apologising for delay. Restaurant was not full as on previous visits. Tried to catch waiters eye to pay our bill, after 25 min had to approach staff member to pay. Also temperature was uncomfortably cold in the Restaurant. Disappointed with this visit as previous visits were so enjoyable. Unsure about visiting again..

I am vegetarian and their veggie options are just delicious! The staff is SO friendly! I was on my own to celebrate my birthday and they came up with a nice surprise: ice cream and a candle. It was very kind of them! Thank you so much for making my birthday even more special!

I booked for an evening business meal and I was extremely impressed - I rang to let the restaurant know we would be a bit late and was answered by Conor who's section I was seated in. When we arrived, Conor saw to us immediately and really added to the enjoyment of the evening. The food was spectacular and came out piping hot with not much of a wait time for them. Possibly one of the best filet steaks which I've had! Will definitely be back.

Dined here with my friend and we had a bar seat. I had the beef tortellini and it was delicious, the bone marrow and sage adding extra and delicious flavours. The organic red we chose was great with the food. We shared a cheese board after, cheese was fresh and full of flavour.

Be wary of the 'water trick' when you arrive. "Still or sparkling?". No tap water offered unless you say it. €3.50 per bottle. It must be a policy there (as opposed to a rogue employee doing it) because I got no response when I gave feedback on this directly to the restaurant via Open Table.

The staff at the restaurant were very accommodating and so kind and personable. They really went above and beyond to welcome us. The food was so delicious and fresh. Its one of the best value early bird menus in the city! The restaurant has a beautiful ambience with gorgeous christmas lights.

Gastropub rather than restaurant. Caters for single diners with high stool tables. Pork dish very good, but Caesar Salad had been left sitting in citrus dressing, so disappointing. Tables very close together, so on occasions overheard other diners unsolicited conversations.
