Pasta was cold when arrived to the table and was a very small portion after being claimed to be the large size. Charged us the service fees when nothing was eaten from what was provided, and wasn’t asked if we wanted anything.
Food was bland under seasoned and overpriced . Sea bass over cooked .Caponata tasteless , not agrodulce River cafe prices for average high street trattoria cooking.
Ice cream had ice crystals , inedible ( Taken off our bill )
Waitresses friendly but inefficient, Did not appear to work in sections , so asked three different waitresses for water before any appeared .
Cover charge added to bill , really ? when it is £20 for a bowl of pasta .
Wine list very overpriced , no medium priced wine.
Bench seat broke at the end of the meal.
Lovely space, nice staff and fashionable clientele. The food is forgettable so you are even better off going to Carluccios!
Very enjoyable food and atmosphere
Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food is really good: very simple receipes (cacio e pepe / bolognese / burrata etc) but very tasty! Perhaps a bit pricy for Italian food though. All together a great evening, we will defitively go back!
The wait staff was the most inattentive I’ve ever experienced. No one specific was assigned to our table. We had to flag down anyone willing to help us anytime we needed anything. My pasta arrived cold. We asked for the dessert menu and it was never brought to us. We finally just gave up and asked for the bill. Very disappointed with my experience.
Service was friendly but v sloppy. Felt entirely ignored! Sad because Chucs had been a fav
Very welcoming staff. Extremely good food in a relaxing atmosphere.
Fantastic service, knowledgeable staff with a friendly approach. Overall we enjoyed the evening although we wanted to share that the dinner plates where cold which meant the pasta dish was Al dente when served which is never good when you pay £31.50 for a dish. The restaurant also has a good selection of wines but we discussed that it would be good to have a few more options around £35-£45.
Scrumptious Italian food alongside great people watching. Go!
Great food and excellent service
Great local place in Notting Hill - cannot fault attention to detail here
Our waitress was lovely. The food was great. My only complaint was how noisy it was upstairs. And unfortunately we were sitting with people who were clueless about inside voices. Will probably try downstairs next time.
Lively restaurant with good Italian food and very friendly and good service. The tables are a little bit close so conversations are easily overheard but it’s well worth going.
Asked 3 times for a wine menu. Cheapest wine £36 a bottle. OK. So we're in a 'foodie' joint. So great food then? Well, yes, when it arrived. The waiter took down my order wrong. So my two colleagues were served and I waited...and waited...it was only sea bass - takes five minutes. The aubergine accompaniment wold have been pre-made. And I waited. My colleagues were nearly finished by the time my food arrived. We also ordered a side of chips for the table. These didn't materialise - we let them know that we din't want them anymore - they decided to serve them then. The waiter did not/could not 'listen' to his customers. It wasn't a noisy place. There was only one other table being served. I can see why now. Steer clear. An absolute rip-off. No style. No class. Just a rip off.
Questionable italian food, great service but would not return.
We were there today, Sunday 17 November, for brunch and it was auwful. The eggs benedict has little flavour and the avocado was inedible. And the maitre‘ d was very impertinent (I think he might have been unaware of how inappropriate he was) told me there was nothing wrong with it and we would have to agree to disagree!
Alas, I will never recommend this restaurant
Excellent Service and lovely food, we'll definitely be back.
Service appalling, food very average
One can only conclude very bad management
Terrible food, service and overall experience. Very disappointing.
Lovely waiter , delicious food and peaceful , my girlfriend is a regular there , she took me for the first time.
A shame both fish dishes were not available otherwise great
A lovely restaurant with a good menu. Unfortunately the service was really poor - the waitresses couldn't take a single order without making a mistake. Our cocktails and nibbles came after the starters were brought and the affogato came without the espresso. I will give it another try - meanwhile they might have decided to change their waitresses.
Es una muy buena opción para ir a cenar , lindo ambiente y muy buena atencion y comida. Altamente recomedable.
Our dinner came out at a snails pace. Things that we asked for never arrived and it was an utter disappointment. And because our dinner took so long, there was nothing left for dessert other than ice cream. An utter disappointment.
Very disappointed! Food wasn’t good, steak was chewy poor quality, bass flavorless... not again!
We had brunch which was a nice choice of eggs, avocado, green juices and delicious cappuccino.
Very nice service and nice ambience.
We have enjoyed going to Chucs on previous occasions and the pasta and pizza was always good. Unfortunately this time we were seated next to the serving station (something I have noticed happen more often when using open table), so it was a little noisy. We arrived early but we're told the ravioli was not available. My pasta was a shade too al dente for my liking and the payard was charred a bit too much for my liking. Service was friendly and forthcoming but food left a lot to be desired.
This is such a good restaurant. I love the food and cannot fault the charming service. It has become my favourite neighbourhood restaurant.
Chefs let down by front of house!
I chose Chucs because of the great reviews. 'A Nottinghill food institution!' they said. And it didn't disappoint on that front. The spaghetti with lobster hit all the right spots. However, the lacklustre, inattentive service coupled with the passable wine choice that came with a sneaky/surprise £70 price tag meant we had no option but to skip out of the venue uttering 'fc-uk you very much'. Such a shame as the nosh and the intimate, Amalfi Coast-esque decor promised so much.
I like Chucs very much but the downstairs seating is best avoided in my opinion.
Outstanding pasta, good size portions. Staff were so helpful and friendly
Excellent as always. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food always delicious. We come often and they are also fantastic with accommodating children.
Fabulous food and charming service. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a good time as you can have a chat and it’s very quiet but, the no air conditioning was aweful it was so hot, which ruined the night
My pasta dish was served cold and tasted awful. I was definitely served something that was lying around for a while. Pasta should always be cooked fresh. Having complained about it nothing was done and then staff were even rude.
Worst restaurant I have been too in a long time. The other dishes were average and that's me being generous. They allow dogs in there too.
Monday evening... so not full with customers. Very good service with friendly staff. It is a bit pricey but the food is of a high standard and the portions are adequate. Would have liked to have seen more choice in the dessert menu, but obviously that is not there thing or perhaps it is unnecessary in this weather. The ambience was good - you could hear yourself speak without having to raise your voice - which was a refreshing change. Adequate room between tables - which allows you to feel more comfortable.
All in all a really nice dining experience for a special occasion.
Would I go back -- YES .
Food was ok Ingredients really good
Hostess very attentive
Pizza Bianca with black truffle was the best
Delicious Italian food and great wine. Lovely decor. Friendly staff.
Good service and nice relaxed atmosphere but food was average and not good value for money
